I am so so happy that The Now expanded to Pasadena!! I've had a membership for about a year, but was previously commuting to other parts of the city, which practically undid the relaxation. This location is my favorite that I've visited (vs Silverlake and South Bay). The gals at the front desk are super helpful and sweet. They even helped me get a reduced cancellation fee when an emergency came up at work and I couldn't make it, which was very appreciated. Parking is easy and free for 90 minutes at the attached lot (the entrance is right at the light next to the building on Walnut, right after you pass The Now). If you've never been to The Now, it's very nice without being super formal. Picture getting a massage at a spa in Tulum where the "rooms" are separated by fabric walls and there's a machine that plays ocean sounds. Unlike other places with a similar setup, I rarely ever hear other customers and completely forget that we're only separated by fabric. The rates are reasonable for LA, especially with the membership which I highly recommend. I went to The Now for a few years before finally joining on an impulse, which was the best decision. The credits roll over so if you don't use it during one month, you don't lose the credit. I even emailed The Now to transfer a credit to my brother as a gift and they were extremely helpful in making it painless and easy. I sadly had to cancel my membership recently because I'm moving and The Now staff helped me strategically cancel it so that I could continue getting massages while I'm still local, but not end up with a bunch of credits that I would be scrambling to use. I've never gotten a bad massage at The Now, but a big thank you to Olivia at South Bay who gave such an awesome massage that I was inspired to buy the membership and Lunice at this location who is a legitimate muscle whisperer. Lunice listens to exactly what I say I want, but also has this intuition about which specific muscles need more work and how far she can push them without making it unbearable. After my last review I didn't think I'd come back again. But the lovely manger Ko contacted me a few times wanting to make amends for my previous experience. I was hesitant to try because I hate awkward encounters but I'm so glad I did because this time the massage I received from Kia was fantastic. So great in fact that I booked a session for my husband as his Father's Day gift. Walking in I felt slightly self conscious because of my previous critical review but like the last time the staff were incredibly welcoming and I soon felt myself relaxing. My therapist Kia was great at finding and treating the knots and tension in my muscles. Her movements never felt rushed and they were so steady that even when contact was broken I never felt startled when she resumed. It's a little thing that can make a big impact and I appreciated the attention to detail. In my last review I mentioned how they kept on fixing the loose fitted sheet and it felt really disruptive. I think what really happened was they wipe their hands on the sheets and I mistook that sound. Although Kia didn't overdo it and it didn't feel as loud as it did the first time I still didn't care for this. I think it would be a better to wipe on a separate towel or maybe a different part of the treatment table not so close to the ear. Been going since they've opened but I have to say the last time I went the massage was the worst experience. It almost felt like a joke! Like do these massage therapist get vetted before hiring? How much do I love The Now massage? Let me count the ways! The free parking is a breeze to use. The waiting area is impeccable and smells lovely. I tried several therapists and would happily return to any of them. But then, I discovered there is life before Arlene, and life after Arlene. As Arlene works her magic on my stressed muscles, I literally picture a Netter's medical anatomy chart in my mind and appreciate both the art and science of her touch. My friend and I had a really good massage but we were running 10 minutes late and called ahead to let them know. When we got there to check in, they didn't let us know that our massage would be cut short but they still charged us the same amount as a 50 minute massage. I get that it's their policy but I've never been to The Now and wasn't aware and felt blindsided. Felt kind of robbed from this place... it's not a cheap massage so would've appreciated the heads up. read more

We visited The Now Spa because we received gift cards for Christmas. We are so happy to have this gem of a place so close to us. Everyone that worked there was so nice and helpful. I came here several months ago after trying several massages around town in an effort to ease the pain of a frozen shoulder. I hadn't had much luck until I found Kaliq, the therapist at this location. Wow, does he know his stuff! For me, it was a miracle. Not only did he know how to work with the shoulder joint and the anatomy around it for improved range of motion, but he also was able to relieve the pain. Every time I had a session with him he did something a little different which tells me he was responding to the body rather that going through a preset massage routine, like so many therapists do. Now that my frozen shoulder has resolved, I still seek Kaliq out whenever I want to do something therapeutic but also very relaxing for my ol bod! He is the best! read more

Shout outs to: Ko, the manager, who helped me over the phone twice in a span of 5 minutes when I had questions and then locked myself out of my account ; Ayana at the front desk, who helped me understand their membership and had a nice chat with me; and Rachel, my MT, who gave me such a relaxing massage that I walked out in a daze. I immediately scheduled an 80 minute massage with her afterward because 50 minutes went by too fast! Their prices are higher than the other locations, which bummed me a little, but everyone was so friendly and helpful and kind, and there is free 90 minute parking by their building (!!) so I quickly stopped caring about the price difference, haha. read more

My sweet neighbors gifted me with a spa experience from Now. After four months, I was able to find time and book my appointment. Parking was a breeze because they gave us three hours (validated, I think). Check in was quick. The lobby reminded me of a Marina entrance. Calm, clean . No strong spa smell to remind you that you are in a spa. I kind of want that though but maybe this was done in consideration who have issues with strong perfumes or scents . Once inside though, I was asked if I prefer to have aromatherapy. Jackpot! I chose lavender. I could sleep here. I chose medium pressure of the Now Signature massage and chose to have the massage focus on my neck and shoulder blades. The sound background was that of waves splashing against the rocks and beach shore early in the morning. Yeah, I felt like I was in a tropical island. I almost ordered a Margarita or a Mojito. This massage lasted 50 minutes. I could stay here all day. Overall, this spa experience was well streamlined from check in to check out. Everything was simple and efficient. I had initially signed up for a membership, which turned out to be impossible to take advantage of due to continual staff scheduling issues, and then it was also very difficult to cancel. This is by far my favorite NOW location. Everyone is so kind. For my postpartum mamas, I recommend Russell. I had my baby via an emergency c-section and my body was in rough shape. He has saved my body completely! My back/shoulder pain is gone and my posture has significantly improved. A little about Russell, he is so kind and thoughtful. I told him I was nursing and he now includes a breast pillow in all our massage sessions (highly recommend for nursing/busty women). Postpartum is so hard, so if feasible I recommend the membership. KRYSTA is amazing!!!! What a kind and incredibly talented massage therapist. I was in SO much pain when I came in, my entire body was tight and hurting, and she fixed everything. I was at an 8/10 level of pain before my appointment and she brought me down to a 1 or 0. I've had many professional massages before, but this one was by far the best one I've ever gotten. My experience exceeded my standards from the phone call asking if they can fit me in that same night to the minute I left. The two girls who helped check me and my sister in were phenomenal. They were super helpful explaining the different massages and listening to my needs; which then helped me choose the best massage for myself. I was tense the entire day but as soon as I was taken back into the massage area I felt an instant calmness. The massage was great and I felt my masseuse get every tension spot I had; at one point I almost smiled because I was so happy that a knot was being worked on that had been bothering me for weeks now. I got the healer massage with an add on of heat therapy and it was AMAZING; I loved the lavender for my anxiety and the heat packs on my back to relieve stress. The massage areas are cozy and l love how quiet and soft spoken the massage therapists are while doing your service. Had a 50-minute Now massage by Kia. I highly recommend her! I occasionally get anxious face down in the head rest especially if the therapist is working out knots. I let her know before the service started and she changed it up with me facing up to help me relax before I flipped over.
