I came for happy hour and I think this place is a higher end bar food, but well worth the investment. We got some great suggestions from our waitress and were loving our selections: Lamb burger: not gamey, maybe a little dry but the pickled red onion and goat cheese tzatziki made for a flavorful combination. Lobster roll: Now that's an item I don't see often on bar menu. Ok it's $20 which I thought should have been a little cheaper, but that was some quality lobster in there. Laden on a fresh brioche bun, that was definitely an item I kept thinking about, but that price deters me from it. Shrimp tacos: You get 3. The ingredients were fresh, there were good sized shrimps in there, so that you can get shrimp with every bite of the taco. Maybe not my favorite shrimp tacos but a solid contender and I would order it again when I return there. read more

I had the garlicky green beans and they came doused in gravy of some sort. I scraped most of it off in attempt to enjoy the food anyways and found the green beans were squeaky. I don't know how else to describe it. I feel like taking an entire star off for the green beans is too harsh. But they were so disappointing... I had a wonderful time at Oak Barrel Restaurant. The staff was kind and very knowledgeable of the food and drinks. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in the door. I was with a group of 10 and I was surprised how quickly they got our orders on the table. Everyone loved our food. I ordered the herb crusted salad and it was so large that I took half home with me. They provided a large amount of chicken on my salad and it was seasoned just perfectly. I also loved that our table was right by the fireplace. It was beautiful. The restaurant has a casual environment. It is next to Cinemark movie theater and makes a perfect place to grab a snack or food before or after the movies. The price is very reasonable and for the amount of food you get, it's really good. Overall my friends and I had a wonderful time. I can't wait to come back again. I definitely recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed! read more

Great experience from the service to the food to the ambiance. We started with the calamari as an appetizer and I have to say it was the best calamari I have had in the greater Cleveland area. So good that I forgot to take a picture before we started eating it . He got the chicken and waffles and I got the filet mignon without the bleu cheese crumbles. He really loved the chicken and waffles! He wasn't a huge fan of the syrup, however, he said he would definitely get it again!!! It was also a huge portion for the cost! When I got my filet mignon it was a tad undercooked (I asked for medium and it was medium rare). I ate my sides while I waited for them to recook a steak for me and they brought out another full entree!!! And this time, the steak was perfect. It was soooo good! I basically took the whole meal home since I was so full from the calamari and sides. Lastly, our bartender was amazing!! I can't remember her name but I know she was blonde and mentioned she had lived in Tennessee and Texas previously. She recommended both of the entrees we selected and when I asked for a lemonade to drink, she made it FROM SCRATCH, instead of using the Minute Maid brand they had. My review falls short where I ordered the duck mac and cheese, that ended up just kind of being painfully average. Not much flavor and only 3 morsels of duck in the mac. Went to the Oak Barrel tonight and though I've been there before I wanted to see what other Yelpers had to say and recommend. So based on reviews my former boss and I ordered the cauliflower appetizer to share. It was definitely delicious! I had the Mac n cheese special with smoked ham and that was very good and glad I ordered it too. Came with a salad and the portion size of the mac was super generous. My only complaint, though minor, was that the wine pours were a little shy of what I'd expect for the price paid. read more

What a great experience at the Oak Barrel!! I will definitely be back there again. I took my parents and my fiance for an evening outing without too many expectations. I was amazed by the food, the service, and the atmostphere. I highly recommend the Greek Salad with the salmon. The server, Krystal, was outstanding!! She knew the menu inside out, was always on cue during our stay, and what's more, she suggested the perfect wine pairing to go with our meal. I highly recommend Krystal if you go. Met a friend for dinner here after work on a Friday and the place was hoppin'! Thankfully, we did not have to wait long to get seated at a high top table in the bar area...plenty of indoor seating and a nice patio for when the weather is warmer. The menu is pretty diverse and prices are reasonable for more upscale pub fare. We split the baked goat cheese appetizer...it was delicious - a well-seasoned red sauce with goat cheese melted on top and slices of toasted baguette for dipping. I had the arugula beet salad (the shallot vinaigrette was so good and flavorful!) and my friend had the spicy shrimp tacos (she said they were really good but did not find them spicy). My only note is that is was really loud inside so keep that in mind if you sit in the bar area. That didn't deter us though...I will definitely be back! read more

This was such a pleasant surprise. We were driving by and stopped in. First, skip.the stuffed eggs, sounded great but were kinda bland. I love deviled eggs. The salad with shallot vinaigrette was really great. I found myself looking at how to make it at home. The Dr Pepper pork shank was the real surprise. The shank was tasty, tender and meaty. The mashed potato base was great and the coleslaw was really different and just right with the dish. The baked cod was perfect and not overcooked. Nice spice and crust. Also got the big Tex salad, it was huge, and full of flavor and ingredients, very good. Went again about a month ago. Got the pretzel, we love pretzels and I got the famous shrimp salad. I've been a few times and have a mixed review. I have food restrictions for medical reasons, which includes onions. Unfortunately, there are menu items that are premixed, therefore limiting my choices. I ordered the street tacos that didn't have onions in the description and confirmed with our server prior to ordering. They came out with onions. One of my absolute favorite restaurants---especially during the Christmas season. The decorations are fabulous and it is very festive--LOVE the Christmas music! It was a waste of money and most of it didn't get eaten. I got tacos and they were decent -nothing life changing. Would get something different if I go back. The "snacks" list was impressive I must say. Lots to choose from. Service was slow and they weren't busy. The food here is ah-mazing, start to finish. Let me preface that by saying I think I have pretty high food standards. I wish I had pictures for everyone, but we got too excited when our food came. We started with the wings which were cooked to perfection; crispy skin, but tender meat..and the sauce. I had to order a side of that for my entree. I had a shrimp cobb salad, which was the best salad of my life. Shrimp cooked perfectly and I dipped that in the wing sauce. The dressing was also great and the produce tasted extremely fresh. The portion was huge and could be split between 2 people. My husband had the ribs. They were a little too smokey for me, but he said they were probably the best ribs he's had. Our other friend ordered the open faced pulled pork and that looked great too; he finished his plate. We're not from the area, which is unfortunate. This would be a spot that would make it into regular rotation. Our service was a little slow and innatentive, but nothing to get upset about. I've been to the oak barrel multiple times! It is such a great atmosphere, in the restaurant area & in the bar area! Both areas are a great place to sit and enjoy a dinner especially in the bar area with the live band! I recently came here with my husband and his parents. I absolutely love the duck mac&cheese but they also have a great size menu with many different dishes that are delicious! My favorite appetizers are the duck fat popcorn, truffle pomme frites, and crisp calamari! read more

Went here for dinner after seeing the yelp reviews. Have to see we were not impressed with the food. The service was fantastic, but the food was just bla. My son got the cheese burger, and he said it was ok and not that flavorful. They also charged us .50 cents for mustard. My wide got a pizza, and it was not good. The sauce had a sweet taste, and the dough was chewey. I got the club sandwich, and it lacked flavor. The chicken in the sandwich was delicious, but the overall flavor of the sandwich was not there. Probably would not go back as the prices do not match the flavor of the food. read more
