I heard they reopened as a Thai place as opposed to the phò and sushi place. We heard they have lunch specials so decided that'd be a good way to try it out. He got the curry lunch and I got the cashew chicken lunch. They were both... fine. Nothing special. We were one of two in there at about 1:30 on a week day. I hope more people will try them out. The service was good and the food came out quickly. The regular iced tea was very good. - The Oaks Thai Café (Thousand Oaks) We ordered takeout for four and tried a handful of dishes: Tom Kha Soup, Red Curry with Chicken, three orders of steamed white rice (charged separately), and two Chicken Pad Thai. The flavors were definitely there, but the chicken unfortunately wasn't. The food was ready when they said it would be, and we appreciated the good service. The only issue was the texture of the chicken across the dishes--it was extremely dry and unpleasant. I couldn't eat it, though my wife didn't seem to mind it. I even had others try it, and they agreed it was off. The Tom Kha Soup, however, was delicious, even though I only sampled it. The Pad Thai also had great flavor, but again, the chicken held it back. Based on the many positive reviews I've read, I'm assuming this was just an off night. Since we did takeout, we didn't dine in, but I did notice the atmosphere itself is welcoming, very clean, and has plenty of parking both out front and along the side of the building. Their menu has several other dishes that look appealing, so I'm willing to give them another try. Next time, I'll likely go for the spring rolls and the Mongolian Beef Stir Fry. read more

My mom had been wanting to try this out. Since we noticed it got a name change. We finally got the chance to last night. We tried three different things so we could taste a variety. My mom said her Thai tea was amazing and strong (you can see by the orange-ish color in the drink pic). My mom really wanted the hot pot because of all the seafood variety inside of it. But in my opinion, it had a lot of mushroom and not too much soup, but it did have a lot of seafood for those of you who love seafood. We love the pad-kee mao and the combination fried rice and we gobbled it all up. The servers were extra attentive and very friendly and came to checking on us. Several times. They brought us a jug of water, but also also came to refill our waters themselves with a pitcher. The establishment with very clean And also the restrooms. Plenty of parking. Tried this place with a coworker on our way back to our side of town and both of us can't wait to go back! The flavors were exactly on point, and everything I wanted! Perfect level of spice in the pad Thai, perfect amount of noodle/everything else ratio, and their cream cheese wontons are craveably excellent as well! The only thing I would change is their Thai spicy soup uses their bbq pork, and the corn syrup from the bbq pork sweetens the whole soup, and overpowers the spicy. We were able to ask for extra limes to try to dull the sweetness out, but it would be better made without it. read more

Upon entering the restaurant a woman at the very far end of the room turned and yelled at me "fo here or to go". No welcome, no smile, just barking. As I was waiting for my food I saw another couple come in and they were treated the same way. I talked with them, they said they were regulars and this woman is new, they're usually nicer here. I wish I could've seen that. I ordered three different dishes and all of them were very dry. The Larb chicken did not have any flavor and the chicken was dried out. The pineapple fried rice dish was dry, the complete dish, not just the chicken. The Pad-See-Ew was exactly the same way, very dry. I don't know if they expected me to take it home and use a lot of soy sauce on it or not, I did not even eat my leftovers it was that bad. read more

First, the service was AWFUL! The server could not have been more unpleasant. It's just not what we're looking for when we go out. The food was mediocre at best. The pad kee mao (drunken noodles) were all broken up and mushy (see photo). Very light on the vegetables, but ample protein. I'd rather have lots of veg. There were slices of green chilies in it, but not Thai chilis... maybe serrano? The cashew nut chicken was almost entirely chicken and mushrooms and the sauce was dark red! There should be lots of vegetables in this dish and everywhere else I've gotten it, the sauce was light brown. The big bowl of rice (extra $) was total mush. Strangly, the decor and bar menu were all Japanese. No Singha. Not going again. So dissappointing! read more

We also ordered mango sticky rice as dessert and that was actually very delightful, but that's just because mangos are in season and doesn't really tell you anything about the chef's skills. the food is very good, i got the green curry lunch special and it's both very affordable and very well tasting, the rice is fragrant and the chicken isn't overcooked as it often can be when i get chicken curry, the chili assortment available is very nice, the sambal is fresh, the salad is very good and i will be coming again, the eggroll is very fresh, still hot from the oil, our drinks came fast as well :)) the service is very nice, and helpful in helping us choose what to get, and the restaurant ambiance is very calm and warm, welcoming. the thai tea is top tier as well! read more
