It was all Christmas songs but not even happy and upbeat Christmas songs. It was very slow and sleepy music! All of the food was good except for the stuffed jalapeños. They were completely raw! They needed to be cooked 1st until soft and nicely roasted. Then the toppings can go on and it just needs a few minutes to melt the cheese. (I make these myself so I know). My parents and I stopped in for lunch. When we arrived we found parking not too far. We walked into a cute restaurant right on the beach. Colleen was our server and she was great! We were looking for a place for our last night of vacation and very nearly didn't come here because of how low the reviews were but that's absolutely asinine. I think normally id have ranked it a four star, but I want to give the extra just to try to give this place a bump. Thursday night and it was very busy but we easily got a table outside. It should get an extra star just for the location overlooking the beach, boardwalk and pier. Food was all better than decent. Not over the top, but since we're accustomed to most of the places in the area as par at best, this certainly exceeded that. We 100% will be back in the future. read more

I went to Ocean View Restaurant over the summer with a friend for lunch. It was really nice to sit outside on the beach. We ordered a salad, which was surprisingly large and pretty good! I don't think I have ever had worse service in my life. The drinks are great I'll give them that. But on multiple occasions I sat at the bar for 10+ minutes waiting to be acknowledged. I ordered chicken tenders and fries for my daughters, they took over an hour to come out. It's literally the worst service I've ever had in my entire life I am shocked and would never recommend this place minus the ambiance. The views are great right on the beach. Wish I had checked the reviews before we came here. There was a 35 minute wait on a Saturday afternoon so we sat down at the bar and had drinks. Bar service was relatively fine other than they were out of one drink I had ordered..no big deal. We get seated outside and the server was polite however the food took a long time to show up. Our party ordered Mac and cheese, steak bites, wings, a burrata salad and a sandwich. The bacon Mac and cheese came out first which felt kind of bland. The steak bites were relatively small for the price and the wings appeared super dry. This feels like one of those places you come for the view and that's as much as you get. In a setting where even children's arcades have air conditioning as do all the stores in the boardwalk this place really missed the mark with no air or even a fan in our seating area. The last thing we needed on a 90+ degree day was to eat dinner sitting in statgent air fanning ourselves with menus. Maybe we'll go back, but not likey especially on a warm day! The menu is limited as it is, we went to place our order and they were out of stuff. Then we finally pick something else, food was brought out cold and wasn't good. First time going to The Ocean View for dinner and drinks. Upon arrival you could hear an amazing electric guitar solo going off that reminded me of Jimmy Hendrix. They had a band playing in the back so I sat at the back bar. Greg was out bartender he was very charming and kind as a good bartender should be. My friend Todd and I both love calamari so we got the Thai spicy calamari and it was AMAZING. It left my wondering why I never had spicy calamari before. For my entree I got the lobster Mac and cheese and there were huge pieces of lobster in it which made me so happy because sometimes you go places and get lobster Mac and cheese and the lobster is so little and cut so small you don't even really enjoy it. For my drink Greg made me the Don Julio Tides drink with a coconut puree. It was delicious. Over all a great experience with Greg giving lots of attention to details. Will be back soon. What's to say that hasn't been said already. Looking at the other reviews, there needs to be some changes in this rather new venue. Service is slow. Emily, a very amiable server did her job well. There has to be better communication between the kitchen and the waitstaff. The pizza was decent, though it took a better part of an hour to get it. After all that wait, I was comped for the pie. Ha ha. Entertainment was good plus the ocean view was great. This is one of the newer structures on Seaside Heights Boardwalk. It's almost laughable how bad this place is . Terrible service from start to finish. Food was horrific... ambiance was actually decent, except it was a windy day and there was no air control so we were getting whipped with wind even though we were dining inside -- that was tolerable though. What wasn't tolerable was the awful food and drinks. Our clam pasta tasted like alcohol and our mojitos were so gross that my husband had to get up and walk to the bathroom to make sure he didn't like at the table. They brought out our Oyster appetizers AFTER every single person had finished their dinner, and the person bringing them said "well I didn't know you finished your dinner" ... ummm is there any communication between the staff? View totally blocked, and the view was what we came for since getting a view from the boardwalk in a chair is about impossible. Food was good except for a dry overdone burger. Decided to check out The Ocean Club for drinks and appys one Friday and it was great. I made reservations online and we were seated upon arrival. I'm surprised about the complaints about service. From the moment we arrived, we received great service from the hostess, to our waitress Brynn and our food sever. Food: We got the calamari and it was great -- light and airy. We also got the loaded potato skins which were good too. Drinks: Their cocktail menu looks good but unfortunately two of us didn't like our summerita watermelon drink and one got a vodka seltzer with very little vodka. The cosmo was great though. Space: It's a really nice space with fun vibes and beach views. There's some outdoor seating too on a large patio overlooking the beach. The one man band sounded great. The service was very pleasant, our waitress was personable, quick, and friendly. To start off we ordered an appetizer: the boneless wings; which I'd give a 2/10. The sauce wasn't evenly distributed and they were very clearly frozen nuggets. As my entree I ordered the burger which was nicely cooked and flavorful; I'd give it an 8/10. My good sis ordered the steak which was bland and unevenly cooked; which she'd give a 4/10. Overall my recommendation would be to just stick to drinks and burgers and avoid the entrees. We got married here on Friday 3/14/25 Well I do agree that the service was slow the place was packed . I would have liked a variety of music playing as opposed to just country but that's neither here or there. I wasn't a fan of the high chairs but the view is the reason I chose this place. The food was fair, but I didn't feel like the server wasn't very attentive considering I was spending a lot of money here I felt the service could have been more available i had to hunt my server down a few times. The manager Casey was very good she kept constant communication and was very helpful. While the server did help with some things I ended up cutting my own cake and boxing it because I didn't feel like waiting around and some of my guests wanted to leave we drove over an hour and a half to be here. We loved the beach view I had a wonderful ceremony. The drinks were fabulous shout out to the bartender. I would definitely come back to visit my guests and I did enjoy the venue we agreed it was the perfect location to celebrate. Thank You for having us and working with my budget.
