What an awesome find!! We wanted to find a good pizza place to hit up on our way to the Springs for a concert and I turned to Google. The food is AMAZING! My wife had the pasta Bolognese and I did my own pizza. The quality of the food is top notch, it's clear that they use fresh quality ingredients. Not mention the portion size is very generous. The bolognese was flavored perfectly and very hearty. The pizza was perfect as well, great sauce, not too much and not too little and the crust was great. Service was a little slow, but their defense they were in the middle of dinner crew coming in and I wouldn't hold it against them at all. Also note it's a little tough to find it via the signage. The staff is friendly and they seem to have a group of very friendly and welcoming regulars. Highly recommend trying out this place if you find yourself in the Castle Rock area. The read more

The red sauce here is just SO good. It's just basic red sauce but it's delicious. We haven't had anything we didn't like. The portions are very large especially for the affordable price. I even have leftovers on half an order of pasta. My husband loves the Mediterranean calzone (and any other type of calzone he's had from here) and can make 2-3 meals out of it. I love their Caesar salad, spaghetti and meatballs, and seafood pasta. We have actually never eaten in the restaurant, we always get takeout. The takeout is always fresh, hot and packaged well. All of the food stays top notch quality even after being packaged and transported. This place is always busy when I go in to pick up food which says something about them! Seems like a fun environment. Sometimes the wait for takeout is underestimated and takes a bit longer but I'm always offered a drink if I have to wait which is nice. read more

The Old North End did a fantastic job on a Welcome Party for my son's wedding. Our guests raved about the food; everything from chicken cutlets, pizza, pasta, to the desserts. We were on their porch and the ambience was so relaxing. The service was amazing. They kept bringing food out for us, and there was always hot food on the counter! This place was amazing! My husband and I were in a wedding this weekend and this is one of the families favorite places! Honestly, everyone was treated like family and staff made sure we were well taken care of! The drinks were great, the vibes were casual and comfortable, and the food was incredible! Don't trust reviews! We arrived at 4pm to celebrate my husband's birthday. First clue was an empty restaurant except 3 guys at the bar. Server brought a paper menu that had been around for quite some time - wrinkled and worn. We ordered water, a beer, caesar salad, chicken parmigiana and pepperoni & mushroom pizza. After 30 minutes we asked for the salad. Server brought some stale French bread then 15 minutes later the salad (which should have been tossed). Another 1/2 hour passed before the entree and pizza. Chicken was overcooked and tough - had to cut with a steak knife. The pasta was undercooked. We ordered a pepperoni & mushroom pizza and it came with half mushroom & half pepperoni. Crust tested like it was premade with no flavor. Won't ever go back. Big Bill's Pizza has no competition to this place. read more

My wife and I joined some friends for an evening meal. The food was good as well as the service. The food (order of pizza for one!?) took a bit longer than anticipated. In fact, we could tell that our waitress wAs a bit exasperated with the wait. We ended up getting a free dessert for the extra wait. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. The toasted cheese ravioli I have never seen outside St. Louis. The tomato/pasta cream soup (of the day) was delicious. The menu also offers salad. I really enjoyed the spicy gnocchi, you can add Italian sausage, which I did. The dinner portions were large enough that both my wife and I brought home leftovers. Both the restaurant and the food are very subpar. Very overpriced for what it is. Menus are smashed papers, lots of messy things in the ambiance - Amazon boxes and untidy environment. In this type of place, no dish should cost more $12 for the taste. Also, the servers are teenagers wearing leggings and tshirts. We are visiting Colorado for a week and have found ourselves at the Old North End for 3 meals so far. The BBQ Chicken Pizza is the best we have tasted and trust me...my boys try it just about everywhere. The Eggplant parmesian is absolutely heavenly...perfectly cooked and although I split my dinner, we still had enough leftovers for another meal. The portions are huge, the staff friendly and the old School Italian ambience brings back so many memories. Since the pizza was so delicious, we had to try dinner, and in a word - WOW! This was the tastiest Italian food I have had in Colorado. We started with garlic bread that came with a nice tomato sauce for dipping. For entrees, I had Gnocchi with a spicy sauce and lots of tasty sausage, which was outstanding, and the crispy bits of fried pancetta with garlic added excellent flavor. My wife had fettuccini alfredo and loved it, and the rest of our group raved about their spaghetti and other pasta dishes. And did I mention that the portions were huge? Six of the 7 adults took home enough food for another meal, and our waitress even threw in some extra sauce. The only downside was being too full to try many desserts, so we had just one shared tiramisu which was very good. I think this restaurant needs to find a real chef! We ate here 2 1/2 years ago when they took over the Italian restaurant that was just awful. They made it excellent. The food was delicious and flavorful. There was never a free table as they were so busy. I got items to go and it was perfect. Then last September a group of us had dinner before a movie and the menu had changed and the food had gone downhill. They couldn't even make me the lasagna because they said it would take too long if we were trying to make the movie. So we all ordered different dinners. They didn't have the lemon garlic wine gnocchi anymore so that was a red flag already. The service was extremely slow and we were late to our movie which is across the parking lot! Then last night we ate there again. It was worse! I had chicken piccata and I don't know if the chef knows how to make it! They was no garlic in it. The sauce was a watery lemony broth. The chicken was a "slice" off of a breast and fried a little! No spices, no flavor and the fact that it was just plopped on top of a huge bowl of noodles is not how chicken piccata should be prepared. Another person had spaghetti and meatballs and said it wasn't flavorful and was not even worth taking the leftovers home. Another person had a small pizza and said it was also lacking any favor. She gave it a 3/10. I give my chicken piccata a 5/10 only because there was enough for tonight's dinner and tomorrow's lunch! But all in all, something has happened at this restaurant and the food needs some major improvements. Even the Caesar salad lacked a good dressing. It was served dry and I had to put the serving of dressing on myself, and it was pretty much a strange pasty dressing! we are definitely not going back here. We had dinner at The Old North End the other night with friends. It was probably my fourth time there and we've carried out a handful of times. While these aren't the best photos, I hope it gives you an idea of what you'll get if you stop here for a meal. Quantity...quality...variety...and that family feeling. Service is very good and multiple staff members go out of their way to make you feel welcome during your entire visit. The calzones are HUGE!! I'm not exaggerating...this is hungry food. The lasagna portion is so tasty and almost promises leftovers every time. While we didn't get dessert during this visit, I've picked up their cookies before. Lemon knots. PB cookies. Chocolate chip. Came on a late Saturday night and there was live music from Southside Jazz Project. Was really fun. Reminded me of when we vacationed in Chicago and everywhere we went there was live music. Food was really good recommend adding the meatballs they were moist and delicious. We got the stuffed shells and the 4 cheese lasagna. Yum. Our server Terri was very kind and attentive. The place is still undergoing some renovations but looks very beautiful. With marble bar top and a marble high top. We will be back. read more

We tried going to The Old North end last month (Oct) on a Friday night around 5 and it was closed, even though their hours posted showed they were opened. We were disappointed of course not sure if they were permanently closed or had staffing issues. So when I saw recent reviews, we swung by again and were happy they were opened this time! They were fairly busy, about 1/2 of the restaurant was filled on a Sat night around 6:45 after the Castle Rock Starlighting. We were greeted by a young man, who offered for us to sit at a 4 top for a party of 5. I asked for a larger table as I didn't feel like it was be enough room. So, he showed us outside onto the extended patio and once again offered us a 4 top. Now, I got a little irritated because I didn't feel like he was listening and asked for two 4 tops to be combined since the only larger table was reserved. He was hesitant but accommodated my request. We were told immediately that they didn't have any cleaned silverware and it would be a few minutes before we would receive any. Our serve came after about 5 minutes, she was a nice young lady, greeted us and asked if we wanted anything to drink but didn't provide any menus. Once we received the menus and had a few minutes to look them over, we immediately placed an order for the kids as we wanted time for their meals to cool down. By this point it was around 7. And they were starting to turn over some tables. Our server came back 10 minutes later and brought the kids their drink, and we still had no silverware or water for the table. We requested those items and started to put in the rest of our orders but as soon as I went to order a pizza I was told it would be over an hour wait. Now, normally I wouldn't be irritated over this if I had been told in advance of the long wait time but we placed the kids pizza orders 10 minutes prior and nothing was said then. So I asked how long the kids pizzas would be and she stated 20 minutes (7:30 approximately) and that many pizza orders had come in during the 10 minutes time. So we quickly changed our orders from pizza to pasta since she said that would be the quickest option - disappointed but no problem. We get our waters somewhere in between our second request and ordering our meals, still no silverware. Around 7:45 we receive our pasta meals but the kids pizza hasn't even made it out before ours, once their food did come out it was a few minutes after ours nearly 1 hour! Everything looked really good, but everyone's food was luke warm. We ordered the lasagne with bolognese, stuffed pasta with meatballs, stuffed pasta, kids cheese & pepperoni pasta. Nothing was hot, as if it had been sitting on the counter for awhile or everything was precooked and served after warming. But besides that, the food was still tasty. When we were heading out, the restaurant was only 1/4 full. Overall, the food is tasty but the communication and service was subpar. We won't be returning as there are many other pizza restaurants which surpass the experience we had at The Old North End. read more

This place is a jewel! Happened to be passing through Castle Rock on our way back to Denver. Husband and I have taken to sharing our meals. We had a large Spring Salad (yummy greens mix with mango, pistachios, goat cheese & more). Their a la carte menu is fantastic -- offering smaller portions of yummy pastas, with your choice of sauce, etc. We had ravioli with creamy pesto sauce. Over-the-top delicious. All he said was let me make sure that it's not someone else's order and then took shots with the party behind. That was the last we heard from him not even an apology.
