WOW! WOW! WOW! This place is so warm, welcoming and the food is so fresh, delicious and made from scratch. We were welcomed by James, the owner, who made us feel like a special guest in his home. We have a special needs kiddo, who is Autistic and needs some accommodating. James was enthusiastic about seating us comfortably, and even turned the lights down, knowing that would make our kiddo extra comfortable. What an unexpectedly amazing experience. The Food: OH. MY. GAWD. We started with the Mushroom Appetizer, which are buttoned mushrooms battered in a house made tempura batter, and fried. They came with the yummiest red sauce, and we added house made ranch. Yummmm! Our Kiddo had the Penne with Butter, which came with a visit to the Cookie case, where she got to pick her cookie that comes with the kids meal. Then came the main event... the Calzones!!!! Holy moly! These GIANT Calzones are made with so much love, and are unbelievably delicious. You can pick from some Specialty ingredient combos, or build your own. The ambience is great! They have three large booths (guessing they'd fit 8 comfortably), lots of tables, high tops, a big covered patio and a bar to sit at. The football game was playing, and even with the restaurant half full, it was not loud. The pricing was very reasonable. With our appetizer, kids meal, 2 x giant loaded calzones, it was $68 out the door. We can't wait to be regulars!

Wow a little hidden surprise with amazing food! Salad was just the perfect size, garlic cheese bread amazing (the sauce was really good!) pizza, and shells with manicotti - wow! And the calzone! Huge and just flat out the best we have tried! Go check this place out!

Absolutely delightful homemade Italian eatery and a warm authentic Italian eatery in the Meadows. I noticed many choosing to order and pick up pizzas. Our 3 Grands enjoyed delicious hand created pizzas and cheese ravioli~~~ Grand parents thoroughly enjoyed amazingly delicious fresh-made Italian meatballs and sausage a full body and decent pour glass of wine and of course a salad. The free house-made cookie was a yum hot deal for Grands. James the owner and Emily our server made for a peaceful pleasant dinner MUST return.

Even though they're practically within walking distance, we got another reminder last night as to why coming here once a year is about the limit for us. Not wanting to drive far, given the bad weather, we gave them another chance. This will likely be the last time for a long time. They're rarely busy when we come, and yet, service is always ridiculously slow and inattentive. We showed up right around 5:00. There were a few people at the bar, one table of two finishing up, and one large table of around eight just starting to fill in. That's it. Not greeted when we walk in, we walk to a table in the middle and basically seat ourselves at the same time someone comes over and gives us menus. 10-15 minutes later, we've figured out what we want and are past antsy since nobody has come by to even take our drink order. Getting somewhat miffed, I walk up to the counter and ask a question I already know the answer to..."I can't remember. Are we supposed to order here at the window or will somebody be coming by to take our order?". While not apologizing, the woman says someone will indeed come to our table. Soon after, a woman comes to take our entire order. Then we get our waters and drinks. My wife and I split the large Caesar salad, which is indeed huge, and we immediately remember we usually split the small one. This thing is gigantic. Even though it's not a typical Caesar, and it's a pain you have to mix in your own dressing, which is really thick and hard to mix, it may have been the highlight of the meal. The complimentary sliced bread is still cold, doesn't seem fresh, and is not particularly good. Note also I got the salad because there actually wasn't a 'soup of the day' by 5:00. "We haven't actually gotten around to making soup yet today.", I was told when trying to ask about the soup. For the record, I guess they made it soon after, as we saw someone later getting a takeout order that appeared to include soup. But I digress. Following the bread and salad, we wait and wait. I guess we should've expected to wait 30-45 mins for our food to come when we ordered and were asked if we had a showtime we were trying to get to at the theater next door. Thinking back on it, we probably should've lied and said we were. Or maybe they would've confided they couldn't actually get us food in much less than an hour. In all the time we were waiting, we only saw two pizzas come out of the kitchen. No idea what was going on back there, but it didn't seem like any food was being made. Our food eventually comes out, and to their credit, portions are big and it looks good. My wife always gets the four cheese lasagna, and it's big enough for two meals. I got the large Mediterranean pizza, also with the plan to take half home. My daughter builds her own pasta and adds meatballs to it. While the pizza has never been one of my favorites, this version seems more off than others I've had here in the past. It's not very Mediterranean...more just veggie with a lot of black olives and green peppers. The thin crust is more cracker consistency than usual. It's hard to hold without crumbling. My wife noted her lasagna was bland, having less flavor than usual, and my daughter said the same about her pasta. Once we got our food, service was somewhat better during the meal, but then slow again after while waiting for our check. Since nobody ever apologizes for the painfully slow service, I don't know if they try to have slow service on purpose, pitching this as a relaxing Italian dinner, but that's never how it comes across to us when we're there. 1:45 after walking in, we were quite happy to finally get the bill and leave. Leaving a restaurant with a frustrated, irritated feeling is never a good thing. Note to self...read this review before being in a big hurry to come back again anytime soon. If it helps others as well, even better. While not as close to our house, there are other Italian and pizza options in Castle Rock that are better.

Tortellini with spicy red sauce and sausage

The thing to get is the tortellini with spicy red sauce and sausage. The regular pasta sauce is kind of bland and I'm not a spicy lover so that's saying something. The brookies are the best brookies I have ever had. The other dishes I tried didn't impress me.

Details matter and they take care of their customers! Everything is made from scratch. They took my allergies VERY serious. Service was excellent and food was out of this world! 10/10 recommend! Not too loud .. very local small town vibe.

I ate dinner here last night. So glad I decided to eat here rather than go to an Italian restaurant in downtown Denver. Besides the short commute from home, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food from this place, again! I ordered a house salad. It comes with their homemade house dressing. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. It comes with homemade Fettuccini rather than your traditional spaghetti. I was very impressed with the quality of Fettuccini. Bring an appetite because their portions are very generous! You may be bringing leftovers home. I like that this place isn't stingy with portions. This was my first time dining in. Previous visits have been takeout. I love the modern contemporary jukebox in the corner of the bar area. My server, Eric, was pleasant and personable. Always a plus! I don't eat dessert at the restaurant. However, I purchased several homemade cookies to take home. They have a generous bakery case of assorted cookies, pastries and brownies (large or bite-size). They will provide you with a nice size container or bakery box. Don't pass up on the Hershey kiss cookies! Overall, very pleasant experience at the Old North End. Looking forward to my next visit!

I have given this place numerous tries and last night was the last. Probably the worst pizza pie I ever had in my life. The sad part is I like the owner but I see no trying into making things better. The pizza was thinner than a piece of paper and most of the bottom was black due to the lack of sweeping out the oven ( first hand knowledge as I used to work in a pizza store). I really pray that this wakes up the owner and he makes this a winning restaurant.

This place was hard to find because of the lack of signage. It is right next to Crave Real Burgers. A lot of traditional fare with huge, huge portions. Same price as similar restaurants in town, but twice the size! Their appitizers are delicious. They have a great selection of fresh pasteries and cookies. The owner is very nice and accomodating. read more

Ok so we have eaten every Italian restaurant In Castle Rock since moving here from the restaurant capital Vegas. And this is by far our favorite for the quality, customer service, and price. We have a close second, but this place is amazing, especially if you like some live music. read more

Walked by after a movie and decide to stop in for a slide - looked like they were having a catered party so we were on our way out when we were ushered back in to sit with everyone very close to when they were closing. Made a full new pie for us (the Benny - highly recommend) and didn't rush us out even though we stayed a bit beyond when they were closing up. And as a native NY'er - the pizza was awesome ! Huge portions of delicious, authentic Italian food and a nice, friendly atmosphere. The head chef is such a fun, sweet guy and he'll pop out of the kitchen now and then to chat with diners and make sure everyone is pleased. Try the spicy gnocchi and the stuffed shells with meatballs. read more

Great food, decent service and friendly staff! With starting over with new owners and management during the thick of Covid, they have done well! Took awhile to get their liquor license, but now that they are on their way... this place will only get better and better! This is one of the best restaurant values in Castle Rock. The food is excellent and the portions large and priced fairly. If you love pizza this is the place for you. They have the largest pizza 21" in Castle Rock and they don't skimp on toppings either like most pizza places do. I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff and owner are very friendly. If you haven't tried Old North End do yourself a favor and check it out. read more

This is the first place we ever ate in Castle Rock, and this is the only place that we come back to on a regular basis!! We've tried all other pizza/Italian places in the area and this is by far the best!! Don't let the lack of signage in the front fool you! This place deserves to be the busiest place in Castle Rock!! The fact that they can't get signage approved by the building HOA shouldn't affect how much business they get. Everything on their menu is AMAZING!!! And don't be fooled by their prices, because the portions are HUGE!! The pizza takes up an entire table and the pasta can easily last at least 2 meals. Super authentic food, and the owner James is the sweetest man you'll ever meet! It's really like he's cooking a home cooked meal for you. He shows his passion for his food in everything he does. Overall, this place is hands down the best Italian food you will find and it's in a very non-fussy setting. Please tell all your friends and come here because it deserves to be packed!! Do yourself a favor and try the meatball and ricotta pizza, baked penne with meatballs, the chicken parm, the toasted ravioli, the cheesy garlic bread, calzone (they're huge too) or really anything else on their menu!!! read more

Such a negative experience tonight. We go regularly but tonight was a disaster. We waited 2.5 hours to get our food. At 2 hours in we asked to speak to a manager and they said it would be 20 minutes longer. We asked for our check for drinks and to leave. Kids meal came 1.5 hours before our meal. They said they were plating it. It took another 15 minutes to come out. And it was the wrong meal. Asked again to speak to a manager and was told they were too busy and I could come to the kitchen if I wanted to speak. No silverware, no drink refills, no word of when the food would be there. I get things are busy but this is where management needs to plan better and be on deck. Almost 3 hours there should have been offered a discount, even if small. They Should not be taking tables if the wait is going to be 2-3 hours. Not sure I want to come back after this experience. read more

My husband and I decided to check this place out for dinner due to the high reviews. Extremely disappointed at the service and quality of food. We walked in and no one was there to greet us. Didn't know if we had to wait to be seated or seat ourselves. The employees were preoccupied with other things ... not with their patrons I might add. We stood around and waited for a while and asked if we needed to seat ourselves. Finally we were told to find a table. My husband asked for soup and the waiter said they were out of it. I had the chicken piccata and it was tough and bland. The chicken was extremely thick and hard to cut. My husband had the veal parmigiana and I have to say he left the entire portion. Very very disappointed ~ I don't mind paying high prices for a meal but I do expect great service and good food. This experience sadly was neither. read more

Was seated right away but after waiting over 15 minutes and no one even talked to us or brought even water, we left. Watched 2 other couples leave as well. I understand things are busy and being short staffed but we could have been offered water while at the table waiting. read more

We ordered 2 Calzones, 1 kids Spaghetti and meatballs and desserts.under $45 Portions are large and the flavor is amazing. The Calzones were so so flavorful and cheesy. The kids Spaghetti with meatball is huge. Worth every penny to eat here and you cant beat the price for as much food as you get. Its seriously our new favorite spot. It is authentic and different than all the other so called Italian food. Everyone that works there is so happy and nice. This is probably our 4th time eating here and I recommend it to everyone. Oh and the Mussels are the best we have ever had. 5 stars for service, food, hospitality and authentic food! Castle rock needs more places like this and get rid of all those chain restaurants!! read more

Left after waiting 50 minutes for food with the restaurant less than half full. The waiter warned us at 35 minutes they were running behind and it would be only 10 minutes. They need more staff in the kitchen and less on the floor. Disappointed this place has nosedived. read more

One waitress and a bartender. I understand, help problems. The salad took 20 minutes to get. Pizza dough taste like a cracker, a plain cracker. I normally have 2 diet soda's when I go out, I don't drink alcohol. But this was the first time anywhere where I was charged for the second refill of a soda. Check the dinner prices - veal parm. was $25. May be worth it at a nice restaurant, one with an atmosphere but not here. Won't be back. read more

Delicious authentic Italian food. Great pizza. Generous portions. Calzones are huge and filled with great quality stuff. Kids meals are very generous too. Desserts are fresh tasting: cookies, cannoli, ny cheesecake all very good. I will be eating at this place probably like, all the time. Having lived in northern PA you kinda know what good Italian food should taste like. This is it! Comparable to Italian restaurants from the east coast. Very chill atmosphere and live music on some nights. read more

Excellent service! We dinned in and felt safe. We had calzones that were large enough for 4 people. They had lots of cheese and the crust was superb. Their desserts all looked beautiful in the display. We chose the brownie with toffee bits on top. It did not disappoint! We will be back. I highly recommend this restaurant for both dine in and take out. read more

Have been here 4 times. Was very disappointed recently though. Service was extremely slow and they were not busy at all. Kids entrees (Mac and cheese and spaghetti) were nearly tasteless. The Mac and cheese is just penne and a very bland white sauce. Tried it myself and it tasted awful. Spaghetti sauce was also bland too. Hope this was just a bad night there and not the norm. My salad had a hair in it (def) not mine. I love this place and hope improvements can be made. Will prob not be back for awhile though. Would def recommend faster customer service. Took almost 20 min to get our check minus the time to get the kids meals out. Very nice people though. read more

We have moved to Castle Rock recently and this is one of our favorite restaurants in town. We have tried several items and haven't been disappointed yet. The pizza, lasagna and pastas are all excellent. Service is always spot on and the vibe in the restaurant is excellent. We will continue to visit here as often as possible. read more

We went to the Old North End a couple of weeks ago and ordered fried ravioli, a calzone, stuffed shells and a kids pizza and really enjoyed the experience and food. Very laid back feel which we enjoyed especially since we had a toddler with us. All of our food was very, very good and we will definitely be back! read more

Great deal!!! The wings were fantastic and I will definitely be back for them! The hot sauce was just right, and although a few of the drums were a little dry - overall the wings hit the spot. The sliders were good (not as tasty as the wings), and I might have to try their fried chicken sliders (Nashville hot) next time. Service was good and everyone was welcoming and friendly. I'm not sure why I didn't try this spot sooner, so don't make my mistake and get yourself down to Courtyard Social!

Less options means they are focusing on making every dish perfect and that's ok! This is how more restaurants should do it. Their pizzas are great. We love the prosciutto with mozzarella. I've probably had it about 7 times since. Their burgers are awesome. Nice quality ingredients and made fresh. The buns are never stale and they brand them with a "M" every burger, every time. Their fries are always fresh and delicious. Nothing is greasy and I think that's why we like them so much. We love our calories but we are not fans of grease at this house so we tend to favor restaurants that are not greasy. These folks definitely qualify. The staff here are friendly and did you know all their tips are donated to the hospital? I love this. We were assured by our server that they are well paid and in support of this arrangement. We've been coming here every few weeks, and often as much as once a week. We still miss Bella Panini and Imran, but this place is closer to us, friendly and always a fantastic meal. We've become friendly with owner James and long-time server Kelly, and since we generally come in during off hours, have had time to visit with both of them. Chef Jaime is a really, really good cook. Especially love his chicken Piccata, but honestly, we've eaten our way through a lot of the menu and everything has been great. Huge, wonderful calzones, and you can choose from a long list of fillings. They have a nice patio area and are busier during the warmer months, but we've come in here a lot during cooler weather for the past year as well, and for weather like that, we have a lot of dishes with their Bolognese, which is the best red sauce either of us has ever had. (I'm from the east coast, so have had a LOT of red sauce for comparison.) They have good beer, some on tap, which is always a hit with me, and a good wine list as well. It was a cold snowy evening when I was craving fried/toasted raviolis. I was in CR for an appointment and did a search for fried raviolis and this place popped up. I decided to dine in and please be patient with them as they are under staffed but the service is excellent. I also got the side salad which was very filling. The toasted raviolis were perfect and crisp with a side of dipping sauce, it made my evening. Will be back to try other items. The calzone was dang near 2 feet long, and the pizza was 20", and the fettuccini fed two growing boys. Everything was fresh and the marinara sauce was superb!
