I haven't been a big fan of The Old Spaghetti Factory for almost two decades. I felt like the last few times I had dined in, the flavor of the food was like opening a can of spaghetti-o's. Or a jar of Alfredo sauce... it had zero appeal to me.. that has changed. I think the restaurant itself is gorgeous. The Old Spaghetti Factory is like the size of a 2 story house with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms... ok, ok, maybe bigger, but as a child, I can remember wanting to go out to eat here. I think the building is stunning, especially on the inside and it feels like you are walking into someone's home. It is all wood trimmed, wooden floors, wooden banister... Is it weird that there is a smell in here? Not a bad smell, but familiar and it has lingered inside of this restaurant for 20+ years. It makes me feel nostalgic... As of today, I am a fan of the Chicken Picatta. This dish comes with angel hair pasta topped with browned butter and mizithra cheese, and chicken breast topped with a medley of butter, lemon, capers, shallots, and tomatoes. The garlic cheese bread is probably one of my favorite garlic breads to order from anywhere. It is unfortunately served with COLD marinara. Like... why?? Why am I going to dip hot cheesy garlic bread into COLD marinara?? So we just don't use it. Today, my client and I ordered online through my account. When you first sign up, you receive a free cheesy garlic bread. We like ordering online because you earn points to receive free items on their menu. We each ordered a Chicken Picatta, and one chicken parmigiano. I think every meal comes with salad and their most popular dressing is their pesto ranch. Complimentary sourdough bread comes with meals as well. It looks like they serve 1/2 a loaf per person... at least that is how it is for togo. What I don't like about ordering online is that there isn't anywhere to substitute for a different pasta. For example, the chicken parmigiano comes with spaghetti noodles, but we like angel hair noodles. There also isn't a section to order an extra side of sauce. So I did walk in and explain that I was putting an order in and needed substitutions. They were happy to substitute noods for me! The women working at the togo area are always pleasant. The bartender is fun to sit and talk with while I wait for my order. I waited almost 40 minutes today for our order, but I was enjoying my company, so I didn't mind. I may have to give the OSF another try and dine in. If I'm a fan of the Chicken Picatta and cheesy bread togo, I'm sure it'll be great dining in!

I've been coming to this place for years... and I mean years. The kind of years where a restaurant becomes more than just a spot to eat--it becomes part of your story. And honestly? Not once have I had a bad experience... until now. Walked in and it was quiet--maybe 2-3 families inside--so I figured we were about to get that top-tier, dialed-in service they're known for. But this time? Service was slow... inconsistent... just off. One of those moments where you look around like, "wait... is this really happening here?" Now here's the thing--I'm not going to tear them down for one off night. Because if you've been showing up and delivering great hospitality for years, you've earned a little grace. And they absolutely have. Food still came through like an old friend who never misses. We ordered the Manager's Special and the Meat Lover's--salad, bread, and that classic spumoni ice cream to close it out. That combination? Still hits. Still comforting. Still exactly what you came for. The restaurant itself was clean, and the bathrooms? Immaculate. That consistency still stands. But what really keeps me coming back isn't just the food... It's the memories. This place takes me back to being a kid, sitting across from my parents, laughing over pasta and bread. Since they've passed, walking into this place feels like stepping into a moment I can revisit. And that... you can't put a price on. So yeah... one off night? Not even close to enough to shake my love for this place. Will I be back? Hell yes.

I went to Old Spaghetti Factory for my birthday and I always love visiting here. The train car in the middle is so fun but you only get to sit there if you have a party of two. I enjoy the fact that each entree comes with soup or salad and a small dis of ice cream at the end. I always order the lasagna and minestrone soup. I could make a meal out of the soup alone.

This place is our usual restaurant for special events. They always accommodate 12+ people easily, if we don't give notice it's only a short wait. We love the bread here. It's so fresh, but the knives are not sharp enough to cut the bread easily. Eating outside is nice there's a pond or some body of water you can see from their patio but I'd avoid it during mosquito season. Service is quick. My kids love that they get ice cream included at the end of the meal. I'm not a fan of pistachio, I always get the vanilla.

We didn't come on a good night I guess. It was 1.5 hours until closing. Waited 20 minutes to sit with no one else waiting. After our party leader complained we were placed in the empty bar area away from anyone else. At first it was nice but then the wait happened. Waited for drinks had to ask several times for the kids drinks. Couldn't ask for anything because they were out. Out of meat sauce. Out of pesto for salads saying the kitchen is cleaning up. Cleaning up well before closing mind you. I asked for the meat sauce when I ordered got marinara but when I wanted it corrected the kitchen was "closing". We checked the time when the waitress said the kitchen was closing things down. Still 30 minutes until closing. But they could send out the after meal ice cream. The kids also received their drinks after appetizers and their entrees arrived with the waitress blaming a vague entity "oh no one brought their drinks?" Service was not great.

Didn't come to the front door.

I got my favorite delivery because I'm crippled and not happy my salad brown. I have pictures no brown butter. So sad I loved this place.

Short staffed as someone called out. Service was exceptionally slow reflecting that, but consieriderimg it was the hostess' first day as a server being forced into that role it wasn't so bad. I tried something new this time instead of my go to.... I ordered the mushroom stuffed ravioli with cream sauce and sautéed mushrooms on top. It was tasty, but small portion compared to what they used to serve. Also the salads are basic iceberg salad mixes right out of the bag, no longer served with tomato, croutons, or cheese. Other than being slow it was a nice birthday lunch with family. The waitress was nice and was on game everything considered. Don't forget the spamone!

The casual yet cozy atmosphere prompts fun conversation. There's a nice old world ambiance about it. Perusing the menus we first chose a carafe of wine, a Barbera. Having it before here we find it hearty and bold. For the table we shared a house salad which was fresh and well made. There was plenty for four of us. Tasty bread was brought to the table along with oil/vinegar and herbs on a plate. My main course selection was the Maccheroni e Formaggio, spiral pasta (macaroni) with a rich sauce, lots of cheese and breadcrumbs. I got it with meatballs which I highly recommend. The dish was delicious and very filling. For dessert I chose the cannoli which has been my favorite. Unfortunately, this time it tasted dry and the middle of the shell was hard as a rock. The filling was good. Service was very friendly, not rushed and attentive. They always add to an enjoyable meal. I continue to highly recommend this place for a good Italian meal.

I was also charged an extra $2 for the toppings, which I paid, but it would have been nice if that had been communicated to me upfront. Unfortunately, after waiting about 40 minutes, the pizzas were very disappointing. My kids immediately said it tasted like cheese bread, and after trying it myself, I agreed. There was barely any sauce at all, which was surprising since I had asked for extra sauce. My kids wouldn't eat it, and I ended up having to take them somewhere else to get pizza. I was really disappointed after driving so far and having high expectations based on the reviews. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place and will not be returning.

When I went this past time, the inside looked pretty much the same ( based on my bad/faulty memory). The patio was different bc one side is completely covered, and I noticed a pulldown screen and projector overhead. The menu seemed a bit different this time. No more meatball appetizer unfortunately. Our server was nice and attentive (this time and last). The food: - Spicy Caesar (Romaine, home-made spicy Caesar dressing, home-made croutons, parmesan shavings, cracked black pepper and salami crisps): good stuff. Not really a healthy salad but a tasty one. The croutons are nice and light (not unpleasantly crunchy). The dressing has a nice little kick to it. I'd recommend. - Helena pizza (House-made Italian sausage, salami, pepperoni, San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, pepperoncini, and Parmesan): the pizza crust here is the best in the greater Sacramento area. Hands down. It's so wonderfully light and chewy. I wish they'd use a bit more sauce on their pizzas as they eat a bit dry. And, I think some extra sauce would balance the saltiness of the toppings as well (and, the pizza does eat a bit too salty for my tastes). - Classic Pepperoni pizza (Pepperoni, San Marzano tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, parmesan cheese): similar experience as the Helena: stellar crust, not enough sauce, and a bit too salty. - Beer: they have a half dozen or so local brews on tap as well as a larger selection of cans/bottles, which include both local and macro brews. Thumbs up. Overall, this is a good pizza place that's worth checking out. I'm only knocking a star off bc the balance of sauce and toppings on the pizza was a bit off. But, I'd still go back!

Our order-- Garlic Knots--satisfying pillowy carbs, they would've been enhanced with some kind of dipper sauce, but there was no offer to add on any when we ordered Artichokes Hearts--it wasn't ideal to get these as takeout because they got soft (no ding on them), the butter dipper was rich on rich Tortellini Alfredo with Salad & house vinaigrette--hearty little bites with a tasty sauce, the salad was simple & mostly lettuce, felt a little pricey for the portion size & being a meatless dish Chicken Parmesan with Soup--nicely seasoned with good texture, came with a big portion of pasta, soup was thick & flavorful Customer service was helpful & proficient with our ordering & pick up experience.

From standing in the lobby to walking to our table to sitting at our table, there is something to look at all around you. They were conversation starters for sure. We chose the $40 bundle with Caesar salad, lasagna, and garlic bread. We also ordered a side of broccoli. The salad was crisp and refreshing with a yummy peppery dressing. The hefty lasagna was satisfying. The garlic bread was the perfect vehicle to dip into the flavorful red sauce. And the broccoli was cooked exactly how I like it. Everything was outstanding and devoured! Our table was surrounded by large groups of families. It created an atmosphere of being at a family house party, which I loved. The combination of delicious comfort food, welcoming staff, and celebrating patrons truly made a fun first visit.

And over the years, it became our go-to spot for takeout on special days. That's why it was so disappointing to have such a bad experience on a day that was supposed to be joyful, my birthday. I ordered a small Chicken Parmigiana (meant to serve 3 people), and what we received was honestly shocking. The portion looked like it was for one person, looks like a piece of nuggets. The chicken was undercooked, the tomato sauce was nearly nonexistent, the cheese was sparse, and overall it felt rushed and careless. It wasn't just a bad meal, it felt like a letdown from a place we used to trust and love. I really hope the team takes this kind of feedback seriously, because Buca di Beppo has been part of some of our most meaningful memories. I'd love to see it return to the quality and care it once had.
