We came here for lunch. As we entered, we were greeted immediately by a very amiable and welcoming hostess who showed us to our table. This restaurant has a very relaxing atmosphere. The music is pleasant and just the right volume. The tables are spaced apart perfectly. Our waiter was very attentive and gave us plenty of time to order. Service was prompt. A Caesar salad (huge and fresh) came with my order, angel hair with meatballs. Our orders were from the lunch menu, at lunch prices, but the entrees were plentiful with enough for us to take home for another whole meal. My wife got the Mediterranean cheesesteak, which she said was delicious (and it, too, was sizable). It came with fries, which she said were also perfect (it is amazing how many eateries can ruin a simple order of fries). We had plenty of time to enjoy our meal and never felt rushed. We didn't have room for dessert, but oh brother, there are humongous and mouth watering cakes on display in a case there. Our bill allowed us $20 credit after we used our $50 gift card, incredible value for what we got. This will be our favorite new "go to" spot, and we will be back to enjoy this wonderful restaurant again, and again.... read more

So I never leave reviews for restaurants but this one has to be done. First things first...I took a patty of six out for a nice dinner for my moms birthday. It was chilly and rainy outside so one of my party ordered a coffee and it was legit ice cold! Had to send it back and wait about 20 min for another cup. The only positive was the bread was warm. So the meals come. I was so excited for an authentic Italian dinner. It was far from that. I ordered the stuffed shells. These where frozen from a bag shells. No taste no flavor. I mean they could of at the very least got the good frozen shells. My son got the chicken parm sandwich. The chicken has so much fat in it he had to spit out pieces. Another person in my party got the French onion chicken dish and there was very little chicken and again no flavor. Another dish was with scallops over pasta and the scallops where undercooked. What gets me the most is I just paid $20 for frozen stuffed shells! I will never ever return to this place! You couldn't pay me to eat here again ! read more

My husband & I were excited to try this restaurant for the 1st time. Well, it's our 1st & our last. We ordered 1 app & 3 entrees, for a total of $106 with tip. I noticed when we were double checking that all of our food was in the bag, that the oil they packed leaked everywhere. I cleaned it up, & home we went. The reason for the poor review is 2 fold. 2 of our entrees were good. The 3rd was the linguine with clams. I went to take the meat out of the clams, & found a few empty, 3 with meat, & the rest with what looked like chewed up bits of clam. As you can see from the pics, going off the size of my thumb, I got an inch & a half of mushed meat in total. We order little necks regularly. I know the size the meat should be. This meal is clearly not worth $22. What really angered me was when I called to let The Olive know, their response was bring it back & we'll remake it. We had just driven 25 minutes home and sat down at our table to eat. Who in their right mind would waste their time & gas to bring the meal back?! I told them I had taken pictures if they wanted to see the clam meat portion. That should've been good enough to receive a refund on my one meal, or a gift card for that same amount. Maybe they went with a new vendor & didn't know the clams had little to no meat in them??? Regardless, I was left with no reasonable apology or offer to make it right, & we will never order from here again. read more

Overpriced diner food. Huge portions don't mean that they taste good. Everything was obviously frozen. The seafood, the eggplant parm, even the vegetables!! Everyone was afraid to eat their meals for fear of food poisoning. The salmon was dry and I thought for sure it would make me sick. My boyfriend got the BLT and even that wasn't good. He said the BLT he had in the hospital was better. We felt bad for the people waiting for a table, almost wanted to warn them to turn around!! Let's just say we won't be back. And we miss Vals. I hope the new owners can turn this place around because it used to be a great place to eat. read more

very disappointed, my friend and I were there are celebrating our birthdays, and we were very rushed throughout the entire dinner. Our waitress was very overwhelmed, and our food was brought out right after we got our salads. Then we ordered dessert and the bill came before we even start it desert. The waitress came over twice to asked if we were ready to pay the third time she came over. She said we really need this table you need to leave. We have a big party coming in. If they had a party coming in, they should've told us in the beginning that we were on a time schedule for our birthday dinner. My friend ordered the special which was lump crab meat over linguine. There were small pieces of crab meat sprinkled around the side. I had fried shrimp that was very greasy. I couldn't even finish it. I would not go back there and I would not recommend anyone to go there. It's overpriced for what it is. read more

I've been to The Olive a few times so far for dinner and it was amazing 10/10 recommend. The other day i was driving by on my lunch break, and i decided to stop in and try their lunch platters. I happened upon this restaurant by mistake. Someone had given me a gift card to Olive garden and I went on open table to see if they took reservations at Olive garden. They did not but the olive showed up and I figured I'd give it a try. I'm glad I made the mistake. It was a great experience. It's a BYOB so brought a bottle of wine with me. Made the meal even more enjoyable. The staff was quick to meet people at the door. Took me to my table and started giving me water opened my wine and brought warm bread sticks. FYI eat them quickly because they do get hard. It would have been nicer if they had wrapped them in a napkin but I realize the expensive doing that. The first order was of crab cakes. They are very tasty there's enough that we were able to take two home with us. They could use a bit more seasoning to add a little bit more pop to them. A nice touch was added by putting drawn butter along with cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. I have not seen that before and it was a nice touch. The main course was the pesto pasta. I added shrimp to it which was well worth the $5.99 edition. The sauce was very tasty and the shrimp were huge. The server, Mary, had fresh grated parmesann to put on top of the dish. Once again a nice little touch that many restaurants don't do. They just give you the pre-graded in a little jar. The bus boy came over at the end of the meal and asked if everything was okay. Jokingly I said to him you're one of the oldest bus boys I've seen before are you the owner? He replied he was they were short staffed but the lack of staff was not noticed since they were very attentive even for a person eating alone. They seem very busy with takeout. Don't be afraid to order and come pick it up or have a delivered by one of the delivery services. When I went on OpenTable I noticed that they had plenty of openings for the time. That I was going. I did not use open table to help the restaurant save a little bit on the fees that Open table charges. I only use open table when I know it'll be a tough time to grab a table for a group. Mixed experiences today. Service was friendly and efficient. Salmon Caesar was well liked. Tilapia special was ruined by too much balsamic dressing. Vegetables were overcooked. Baked potato was ok. Desserts taken home were very good. read more

Not impressed at all. All food under seasoned and my scallops were not fresh. 4 of us and we all had the same problems as in cold food and minimal seasoning. Calamari was undercooked with zero flavor. Not a pepperochini on the plate and not a tentacle to be found. read more
