The food isn't bad but they lack gluten free options other than hibachi made with tamari sauce. My daughter has celiac's and cannot do regular soy sauce. They have no labels on the many menus to denote GF options and the wait staff lack knowledge of which dishes are or can be prepared GF. It took our waitress several trips to the kitchen to finally find a dish that she could safely eat. If they were more considerate of their patrons with food allergies, I would have given them 5 stars. If you have food allergies, I advise eating somewhere else. read more

Everything in the restaurant is good! I love their Sushi. They have so many selections. I have eaten on the Japanese side, hibachi area, etc. The fish is so fresh. I love how it is separated got variety, the layout of the restaurant, atmosphere, and the friendliness of the staff. They have private rooms for dining. They have a beautiful outdoor dining area too. The parking lot is very accessible. I give them ! I am never disappointed. I eat there once a month, if not more. read more

Its nice to see A newer asian restaurant pop-up in the scene and add to the mix of options. There's plenty of parking available if you drive down the street a bit connected with stairs. I came with a group. I ordered the tangerine chicken. My food was okay, the ambiance is nice, and the server was kind. I ordered a $5 cup of ginger beer, but got a more expensive bottle and didn't realize it until the tab came out. The white rice was pretty dry. Everyone had a worse experience than I with bland food, I probably won't be back for the overpriced "ok" dishes. We shared our concerns with the management and they didn't seem to care. We had a table of 8 and 20% gratuity seemed to be high for such terrible service, but I guess is the new standard. read more

I love this place! My go to for all things sushi! "oops She was" is my favorite. I'm allergic to shrimp and always have to remove it from that sushi roll. When I order for delivery sometimes the chef will call and verify that I'm allergic and ensure that it does not touch any part of shell fish. Crab wontons are also fire! read more

I live within walking distance of The Orient. The food is always solid, if a bit overpriced. I don't remember getting anything from the kitchen that hasn't been good to excellent. Drinks are another matter, since they are consistently watered down. On my first visit, I thought maybe it was just that particular bartender, but I soon realized it is a consistent thing. I've never had anything that remotely resembles a strong drink from The Orient. My advice is to order wine or beer (but watch them pour it) and skip the cocktails. read more

Hands down our favorite Chinese restaurant. Everything is good, like I literally have never had a bad meal here. The service is always good. Even when we get takeout it is still good once we get home. I can't say enough good things about this place. The sushi rolls, hibachi, Chinese entrees, the appetizers...it's just all fantastic. First of I wanted to give these guys a FIVE Stars for the ambiance and was hoping and praying to give them a five at the end but of course had to wait till the end of the whole experience. Reason for the 3 star; Service- waiters were professional and well dressed but we waited 10 mins in between dishes. And the waiter only had 3 tables to work on. First appetizer was as simple as a California Roll and it was spoiled, the imitation crab was bad. He asked if we wanted another order of California roll, I said yes if it's a new batch of crab package. Never got it and he never mentioned if there was an issue. But the funny thing is he said "don't worry I'll make sure you're not charged for the California roll" like he was hooking us up or something....lol 3. Food was not eyeball rolling at all but I do like that they have varieties from Chinese to Japanese. So if you don't care of authenticity then this is for you. 4. On weekends it is valet parking. If you like burnt food, over cooked the way satan likes his food then "The Orient" will prove to be a choice worth while! I had to go approach the manager personally to make them aware how awful the food was on the hot plate burning and charring eggs then rice! Thought we made positive changes..... apparently not. After two hours of being forced to be resatisfied with new food, new cook.... the management never revisited us to even check in asking if everything was ok or better???? So if you're looking to be spent and patience tormented with time and dollars???? "The Orient" will prove to be an over priced variation of many many other Sushi and Hibachi choices in the Marietta/ Atlanta area. Two people two hits with horrific cooking and preparation for $150 dollars. Do yourself a favor. . . . run fast and run far!!!!! The Orient rent factor is $25k.... or more. I ordered take out for a bunch of food dishes on Christmas and drove a good bit out of the city to pick them up. They aren't a cheap restaurant nor do they sell themselves as one so when some of my food dishes had mold in them and I just throw away all of them in the trash which was over $100 before tip with the added stomach issues. When you get expensive Chinese food you should expect the quality of the ingredients to be better and they didn't taste any better than a cheap Chinese restaurant closer to me in the city. I won't be come back to them, it was just a disappointing experience. read more

Beware! My car got broken into in the parking lot of this restaurant and the police said it is a hot spot for break ins. Other than that, food was good and the atmosphere was wonderful. Sadly, won't be coming back because of this parking lot. read more

First time here today. --Black cod-- OMG so tender and full if flavor, slightly chrispy skin --Green tea ice cream-- Wow it is full if actual green tea flavor. Tastes rich like expensive ice cream. I wonder where they get it. I would buy a ton for the house. --Tuna nigiri-- I can tell itd Bluefin tuna by the slightly darker red color and super soft and melt in your mouth texture. New and immediately the best Asian Cuisine in East Cobb . The ambiance is very nice. The service is excellent and the food is first rate. There is a regular Asian menu without column A, B etc. there is also an elegant sushi bar and an airy Hibachi Grill. The Orient has an active inside / outside bar that is also very comfortable and friendly. I really like this place. Next time I'm going to try the Hibachi Grill. read more
