Sushi Village is my default AYCE sushi restaurant to go to. I've been coming here ever since they first opened. You won't find a better deal for AYCE made to order sushi. Is it the best quality fish? Obviously not. But for the price? You can't beat it. Over time, with inflation and post covid, prices have definitely increased and the menu has changed, but currently dinner is priced at $26.99 per person and lunch is even cheaper. That makes them incredibly competitive with other AYCE restaurants. And unlike other places, there is no limit on how many pieces of sashimi or nigiri you can order. You can only order 10 per person per round, but they don't cap you out on how many rounds you can order. Between my husband and I, we usually order between 50-100 pieces of sashimi/nigiri in addition to rolls and appetizers/sides. What I have noticed over time is that their cuts of fish have become increasingly larger. They used to give far too much rice on their nigiri and rolls so you'd get full too fast. But now, the rice portion is definitely proportionate and the fish cuts have gotten better. The appetizers and sides come out hot, fresh, and quickly. They have many different things you can order. When I walked in, noticed there is a takeout side (right) and sit down side (left). The restaurant was clean but nobody in front to greet guests. The Sunny Side Up Roll was pretty good, but felt a little on the pricey side. However the crab salad was delicious and packed with a lot of flavor from the eel sauce. They also serve a variety of hot kitchen foods for people who arent big fans of sushi. The service is quick and friendly. The space is small, so it can get busy during peak times, but overall they get people seated in a timely manner. Parking can be a hassle sometimes though when there is a braves game, because most of the parking lot is taken up by the venue. They close for lunch and open back up for dinner. Main difference in menu is at dinner they serve a tad bit more options. The price difference though is not huge so you dont lose either way! My fav rolls are anything with salmon or tuna and I've probably tried all of them in the menu. Every time I ate here the service was friendly and fast. Was recommended by a friend to come here after she had a great experience her first time here. Came here with a few friends for lunch on Saturday. No one was at the front desk but someone quickly came up to seat us, so no problem there. It's a pretty small dining space - some booths along the walls and some tables in the middle. You get two menus - one for sushi and one for appetizers and other sides. All are included in the $26 weekend lunch/dinner price (INCLUDING SASHIMI). Write down the # of each that you want and give it to the server and they'll bring them out a la carte style (don't worry, it's still a buffet - you can just order more). We ordered tons of sushi, to say the least -- sashimi, sushi (nigiri), rolls, sides, soups, EVERYTHING. It was all good. I'm a FIEND for salmon and the salmon nigiri and sashimi were pretty good .. nicely thick slices and very flavorful. I was super satisfied. The other sushi and rolls and sides were also great - no complaints! Definitely make sure you can finish what you order because they have written they will charge for any leftovers. I recommend just ordering more as you run out! Service was really fast and the servers/hostesses were super sweet. They checked up on us often and everything. For $26 - this is a STEAL. Some notable highlights were the Chicken Katsu, the breading was light and the chicken was very tender. The Dynamite roll was also very good. We ordered a variety of rolls and they were all delicious. We finished with a nice dessert of red bean ice cream which was great. I really enjoyed the sweet potato tempura (always a favorite at every Japanese restaurant I go to). My favorite roll was the Spicy Crab Salad Roll. Really tasty since the crab is sweet and the sauce gives it a flavorful kick! Just FYI - for every piece of sushi you don't finish, they charge 25 cents. The bads- sweet potato tempura rolls were quite literally raw, sushi rice tasted old and dry, vegetable noodles were strange and off putting flavor wise, edamame was served cold. Sushi Village is located in a stand alone building near Truist Park. We came here right before a Braves home game, and most of the parking lot was already filled with fans who paid to park here before walking to the game, not even eating at this restaurant. We, though, were going to park here just so that we could eat before driving the car to a different parking lot, so we weren't charged for parking. We told the owner, who was outside directing cars where to park, about our intentions, and he instructed to park near the door, meaning that we just created another parking space and blocked another car during the time we were there. We went inside, were greeted by an employee and immediately led to one of the booths. The restaurant was on the small side and approximately one-third of the tables/booths were occupied by customers. During the entire time we were in the restaurant, the servers (there were two of them) were very attentive with us and all of the customers. Customers indicate on paper order forms what food items they want. Usually, the wait times are short. Inconsistency was the theme here. I love tuna and salmon sashimi, but the textures and quality of the raw fish pieces were not consistent at Sushi Village. Some of the pieces were fresh tasting and looking, while others smelled on the verge of going bad. I could definitely taste the difference. The seaweed salad was perfectly made, as was the spicy tuna roll and the miso soup. I didn't care for the tempura shrimp. The pieces were generous for the amount of shrimp that I got; however, the batter was more like a pancake batter that was more doughy on the outside than the delicately crunchy tempura outside that I was expecting. The chicken yakitori was grilled too long and was hard and dry on the outside, moist on the inside, and had no flavor. The gyoza dumplings were soft and flavorless, and the dipping sauce was all wrong as it wasn't a mixture of soy sauce and vinegar at all. The edamame was good (how can anyone mess up edamame?). They don't have desserts. There is a restaurant policy that states that customers will be charged $0.75 for each piece of wasted food. Overall, just a good experience.
