I enjoy crepes from the Crepe Stop on Laurel st. Occasionally they are a bit overdone, so you might ask them to flip them sooner if you prefer your crepes not to be browned. My partner likes the BBQ one. I often get the Hawaiian one, sometimes the Sour Cow, or the Tuscan. The Big Belly is really big, with lots of ingredients. The crepes are usually served golden into triangles, which makes them easy to carry. No utensils needed. There's usually to less cheese than I'm used to from other locations, but it's not bad. Note: We usually get ours To Go. The apple caramel dessert crepe arrives cut up into squares, which was surprising. Normally the plain chocolate one we get isn't cut up. This resulted in a bit of a mess when my partner didn't hold the container flat me time. Service is so-so. Definitely order in advance if you can, or you may wait a bit. Ambiance is terrible indoors. Only a couple of small tables and more of a "pick up at the counter vibe." They have a nice outdoor seating area though, if the weather is good enough for it. Parking is usually decent if you park in the lot right next to the restaurant. It's sometimes easiest to enter that lot from Walnut, the street parallel to Laurel, though. You get to it from Olive, going around the back of Bianchini's. The outdoor seating areas and proximity to Bianchini's market make parking on Laurel a bit dicey. I tried the round waffle things once, and wasn't that impressed. Seemed a bit dry. Keep meaning to try the gelato but never have. And I don't drink boba tea, so I can't comment on that. They do stay open later than the other nearby boba place though, so if that's your cup of tea (ha!) then it's an option later in the evening. Do not come here for hot chocolate despite the signs. I came in one night for a hot chocolate and my god did it take forever. The hot chocolate they serve is a standard Ghirardelli hot chocolate so I was expecting a pretty quick in and out service. Nope, took 30 mins. After 20 mins I asked the guy and got the autopilot "it's coming" response - didn't even bother to actually check. Hot chocolate itself tasted normal. Nothing to really rave or hare about it. It was a nice hot drink on a cold evening and that's the only reason this review gets a 2 and not a 1 star. read more

This place seems like the spot for young locals. It's open until like midnight and can get busy at night! The location is perfect on Laurel St. and prices are fair. My latest obsession, these crepes. They're thinly delicate and perfectly soft throughout, not crunchy or overcooked like I've had at some places. It's hard to choose which one to get so I went with a more standard strawberry & banana to get a baseline. The honey was thankfully moderate and added just enough sweetness instead of drowning you into a diabetic coma. The staff was friendly and didn't rush me while I debated which crepe to try. They have boba and waffle pops too, which I'll definitely try on my next trip. There's seating inside and out in their cute parklet decorated with wisteria. This is a hidden gem here in San Carlos! I don't come up here often but was meeting a good friend here and she recommended this place so decided to try it! It's tucked away in downtown San Carlos but there's plenty of free parking available near by. You order on the screen (very new technology), and they bring you your food! We opted for the Love at First Bite crepe, which has nutella and strawberries. Classic. The crepe was okay. The nutella was melty and the strawberries were fresh, but the actual crepe part was a little more chewy and rubbery than I was expecting and thicker than other crepes that I've had. All the ingredients worked together nicely though (but honestly, you can't really mess up strawberries and nutella). Price point is kind of high for what you get? Maybe? I'm actually not really sure how much a crepe should cost. But our crepe was just under $10 after tax. And if you're wondering about parking, there's parking available in a lot adjacent to the store.
