The food and service are always really good but this place is always very busy. Make sure you join a waitlist and make sure to check in when you arrive. Service was excellent. Our group of 6 adults was treated with respect and humor. The host asked for the name on the waitlist and we joked with him about it, he not only acknowledged our humor but was very pleasant about it. Our table was perfect for all of our oversized bodies which is certainly impressive considering most hosts do not recognize the need for more room an oversized person requires to be comfortable. Our server was attentive and joked back and forth with us. Our orders were delivered hot and prepared the way we ordered them. No complaints or concerns about the food. I LOVED the fruit pancakes I got. First time coming here for brunch and the pancakes were so good - and this is coming from someone who doesn't eat pancakes on the norm. Our waitress was so communicative and amazing (i wish i remembered her name because she deserves a raise!). I got a cali omelet (i think) with hashbrowns, coffee, water, and my fruit pancakes. Love this place. Always busy unless you get there early. Usually the service is amazing. Not the cheapest place for breakfast, but hey, your worth it. My server was not with it today. Took him 10 minutes to bring me a soda, I had to ask for a refill, never received the serving of extra gravy I asked for. But enough about him. He hurt his own tip. Hot item of the day: The Maple Syrup for the pancakes. Wow! This stuff was liquid gold. Thick, super sweet, real maple syrup. I would bury a body in the woods at midnight If it got me a bottle of that syrup. It was to die for. Biscuits and gravy was a big serving. They don't really mention that it came with eggs and pancakes. So I messed up and bought the sliced ham as well. I could have done without the ham, but it was good so I ate it too. The wife had the Hawaiian pancakes. She didn't complain so it must have been good, enough about her. Did I mention the syrup! Yes, it was that good. We Had a large group so we split up into two tables. The first table was seated no problem the second table got the text walked straight in from the parking lot ( one minute max) and they had already called another group and was seating them at the table. If you have a texting system then maybe you should wait more than 30 seconds before you go to another party. We also were sitting right there and never heard the girl yell the name of our party or we would have stood up. The girl that slipped our Second party was super rude about it too! We visited The Original Pancake House with a pretty large group, and I was honestly expecting a long wait. To my surprise, they were incredibly accommodating and managed to seat us in a remarkably short amount of time. It was a testament to their efficiency and commitment to customer service. We did try calling before hand with no answer so have someone from your party get their early. The food was a delightful experience; every dish was flavorful and, despite our large order, was served promptly. While the ambience was slightly marred by the noise level at our location, it was a minor hiccup in an otherwise delightful brunch outing. Just had Sunday breakfast their and wish we didn't. The food and service were not what they use to be. I ordered biscuits and gravy and my wife ordered eggs and hash browns. It took about 35 minutes to get our food ( it was early so it wasn't busy) and my biscuits & gravy came out cold and dry. It looked like it was sitting on the plate for 20 minutes. My wife's hash browns were so overcooked and dry you couldn't push a fork into them. Our server never did ask how the food was. The pancakes were pretty bland - the sourdough had no sourdough flavor and both lacked salt which is notable because I usually think my food is too salty. The coffee was very watery. They do not have celiac safe food. When asked they said everything is cooked together and there is cross contamination.

While the portions were good, there is an up-charge for everything. Some are shown on the menu, albeit somewhat confusing if it's your first time here, but our waitress offered us cheese on the hashbrowns (which is not shown) without mentioning there would be an additional charge of $4!! This trip I'm giving a 2.5 star. Upon entering the place, I noticed the same horrible smell that I have smelled many times before. I guess the workers are used to it and can't notice. To me it smells like sewage from the bathrooms, kitchen drains of the dishwasher. Growing up in the restaurant business, those smells never change. We came here Valentine's Day morning with my in-laws and it was a nice simple breakfast place. I put us on the waitlist on Yelp from home and we waited in the car the rest of the time until our table was ready for us. I had the bacon breakfast burrito with Chile verde and pico de gallo. I liked the freshness the tomatoes added to the dish and didn't make it seem as heavy to eat. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and came with every meal. My husband had the Cali omelet and he really enjoyed how flavorful it was. Overall, this place is like a nicer Denny's. We'd probably come back once in a while. read more

I was practically dying of hunger so I popped into The Original Pancake House and boyyyy am I glad I did! When I checked the waitlist there was about a 30 minute wait so, I checked into the waitlist on yelp and arrived almost five minutes before my check in time. The hostess sat me as soon as I walked in at a cute little corner seat with a view of the plaza - Can someone say perfect timing?! After I sat down, I ordered my drink and the food was ready in no time! I ordered the biscuits and gravy which came with hash browns, two eggs and three buttermilk pancakes. SO MUCH FOOD, I know! The consistency of the gravy was perfect. You can taste tiny grits of the sausage perfectly blended in the creamy gravy. The hash browns tasted fresh and crunchy, exactly how I like it. My husband ordered the banana pancakes which was absolutely out of this world. It looks like normal buttermilk pancakes topped with pieces of bananas but there are actual blended bananas infused in the pancakes! The pancakes were soft and savory and were also topped with creamy, thick whip cream. His entree didn't come with any sides so he did add a side of bacon. The side of bacon had four crispy, thick bacon strips. You'll seriously get a bang for your buck here and you'll leave VERY satisfied every time! read more

I'm leaving this review in anger. I just left the restaurant, a place where I've been many times before. The service is OK and the food is yummy. After having come from the hospital where I received a diagnosis of a serious health issue, my sisters and I decided to get some breakfast at the Original Pancake house. Just after we placed our order, my sister received a phone call from my nephew's school to let her know that my nephew, who is a type 1 diabetic, has overdosed on his insulin and is being rushed to the emergency room. Understandably, my sisters left immediately to go to the hospital in Utah county. I found our server to let her know what was going on, to cancel my sister's orders, and to ask for mine to go. This is where the "manager" Maddie comes in. I was in the waiting area, sitting on the bench, crying, when Maddie approached me with my food. She let me know that she was doing me a favor and being helpful to me. I explained the situation again, and told her it was an emergency and it couldn't be helped. She said she didn't appreciate me being rude and that, "technically it was a dine and dash" and asked me if I wanted to pay for all three meals. I was unpleasant at this point, and I told her to stop talking to me, that I just wanted to pay for the food and leave. When I handed her my card, she dropped it on the floor, complaining all the time about how rude I was and how helpful she was being. She was not helpful. I picked up my card and put it back in my wallet. I put a $20 on the counter, at which point Maddie instructed her coworker to follow me into the parking lot and write down my license plate number so they could refuse me service if I came back. (Spoiler alert; not coming back ever.) Making a shushing motion with my hand, I told Maddie to shut up and to stop making talking sounds and leave me alone. I know, not nice, but the sheer extreme unkindness demonstrated by Maddie in this situation kind of left me shaking and very upset, and beyond my normal capacity for pleasant human interaction. Luckily, I had ordered an Uber because, remember, my sisters had to rush to the ER, and I was there with no car. I exited the Original Pancake Hose and took the Uber home. We have been eating at this location for several years. WOW, did it go downhill or what. We rolled in at 7:36. Just minutes after opening. First service was our coffee and orange juice. The spoons were already placed in the cup. Upon taking my spoon out it was still plastered with food from yesterday's service. After several attempts of trying to flag down our waitress who was just standing inside of the counter talking about what they did the night before. Next service was the meal. I ordered classic French toast. It was extremely undercooked. The toast looked like instead of being dipped in an egg mixture that it was strictly dipped in milk. Over easy eggs were over medium to hard. Egg whites around the yolk were completely overcooked. My wife's Greek omelette really had not much egg surrounding the ingredients. She left the restaurant without eating a thing except the bacon that came with my meal which was the only highlight of the entire service. The Original Pancake House holds its own in the world of fine pancakes, and the energy of this place shows it. Their standard cakes are fluffy, moist, and flavorful, served with whipped butter and maple syrup. We even tried the cherry sauce () from their array of other optional syrups. Want a great pancake? They do it well. With such an array of options, we will have to return to try others. We also tried some other fare. The bacon is thick-cut with a rich savory and smoky flavor and they have moist hash browns with a perfect golden, crisp edge. Our server was quick and great enough that I wasn't devastated when they ran out of their signature grapefruit just in the morning on a Saturday. The fresh OJ was satisfying as well. The Benedict's are served with the perfect amount of ham or bacon and hash browns and pancakes on the side, but their Holland aide was slightly split and the flavor fell flat. Granted pancakes are their speciality, but when they knock everything so far out of the park, I had expected more. Even though it is clearly a loved breakfast spot, you can cut through the waiting list by checking in ahead of time on Yelp. We walked in the door and straight to our table.
