Have been wanting to visit Ramblin for a bit to change up the breakfast rotation. Was not sure if there was going to be a wait around 11 so took a chance and was able to be sat within seconds. It is a well sized restaurant and there is even a patio where come guests bring their puppers to enjoy a meal. I like that the menu has a great amount of options, pancakes, omelets, waffles, steak and eggs. The are sandwiches and appetizers I definitely will save for a next visit since they are open daily -Sundays being the one day they close earlier . I opted for the French toast combo. Fluffy -not super sweet and the bacon was perfectly crispy. Breakfast sampler -ham steak was great with the ramblin potatoes . There was no leftovers for us to take compared to our normal spot . The servers were fantastic, attentive and friendly. Booths were comfortable and they had larger tables for groups . Will be back soon to try more of the menu . read more

The Food: I ordered the Strawberry Lemon Crepes, my partner The Hobo Breakfast platter. Both were delicious. Cooked to perfection. They have the good Bacon here, thick sliced, I would imagine they bake the bacon in the overnight then slightly crisp it up on the griddle. The Service: Caleb took good care of us this morning. Very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The Restaurant: Clean fun atmosphere, I'm terribly surprised that this place isn't as busy as Penny's Ann's Cafe. Nice casual breakfast spot in the center of SLC. The prices were reasonable. I was staying at the Hilton across the street and having tried the Trofi restaurant inside the hotel and not enjoying it I was looking for something else for breakfast. Couldn't have been easier then just crossing the street. I don't have a very detailed description of the food because as far as I could tell it was fairly standard breakfast fare. My order included eggs over easy, which seem to not be very easy in a lot of places but at Ramblin Roads the eggs arrived perfectly cooked. Ramblin Roads was a quality breakfast diner-ish place with food portions and frequent the coffee refills. I guess it's a Utah chain. I got the Ramblin Platter. It's usually a good idea order the stuff named after the restaurant. Ramblin Platter did not disappoint this hungryboi. I ordered the eggs over easy and they came looking great layered over meats and taters. The taters soaked up the runny yoke. Gotta love it. I love a good skillet/platter. Next to a good hash it's my favorite way to receive all that breakfast goodness. Ramblin Roads has a pretty good one in the Country Platter, which is basically a country-fried steak with country gravy over country potatoes and, I guess, country eggs. All I know is that slops together wonderfully in the dish and slops together even more wonderfully once it's in my belly. The atmosphere is what you'd expect out of dinner. And to me it felt super chill and home-y. Some diners go for a more modern bright-lit aesthetic, sterile and metallic, but the best diners are the ones that feel a little rustic and lived-in, wood and paint. The service is great here too--friendly and on the ball with the refills and special requests. I don't know when I'm going to be in Utah again, but this would not be a bad place to come back to if I do. read more

These types of places usually land on my itinerary at breakfast time, but last night it ended up being a dinner gathering spot-and I was not mad about it! (Although I'm sure I'll end up here for breakfast in the very near future.) It's got a diner feel to it, but not the dirty, greasy spoon kind. More like your grandma's kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. The place can get a little busy and the servers are rushing around trying to keep up-so exercise a little patience. I was impressed by the menu-there's quite a bit on there, and they have a liquor license so you can get an adult beverage, if that's something you want to do. I enjoyed the country fried chicken while my son had a cheeseburger. Both were filling and delicious. Next time, I'm going to convince him to try the liver and onions-it's probably amazing! Saw a post on IG about Ramblin Roads, and knew we had to come in. Our grandparents have spoken about Liver and Onions for ages, and this place is one of the only locations we could find that had it on the menu. While the grandparents were highly satisfied, my wife and I also found some delicious meals. The classic burger hit the spot, and the Chicken Alfredo was some of the tastiest pasta I've had in quite some time. After moving into the area we were looking for good breakfast/brunch spots. Came to yelp and saw this restaurant was rated actually well. Unfortunately this restaurant did NOT live up to its rating for us. I do want to say our waitress Kassie was so so friendly and gave us excellent service but the food and "spicy" Bloody Mary was just not good. Ham steak was good and husband said he wished he had ordered it. Unfortunately we both ordered our hash browns crispy and my husband's came out cold. Our toddles hash browns came out crispier than ours. Husband said CFS tasted like it was a frozen meal. Overall underwhelming and won't be back. read more

A restaurant close to my work that has pebble ice and crisp Diet Coke?? Yuuuup that's my kinda place! I've been wanting to try Ramblin Roads since it is close to my work, and it did not disappoint. When I walked in I was greeted by a kind host. He sat me immediately and was very friendly. The vibe inside was nice. My server, Brittany, came and got my drink order right away. The Diet Coke brew was REALLY good. Super crisp and good flavor. Also loved the pebble ice with it. It is $4 tho so you're def paying for it. I looked over the whole menu, and there are SO MANY good options. I def want to go back and try more. As soon as I set the menu down, Brittany was back at my table ready to take my order. I decided on the pulled pork sandwich special. It was delicious. The bread was super soft. The pork was cooked amazingly. It also came with onions and coleslaw that added both crunch and flavor. I came here for brunch with my boyfriend the other morning. We were seated immediately, and our orders were taken quickly after by our server Mandy. She was so friendly and bubbly! My boyfriend got the Country Platter with a Scone, and I got the Strawberry Stuffed French Toast with a side of sausage and over easy eggs. Our food came out pretty quickly. I really enjoyed my French toast. I didn't need to add any extra syrup because it was the perfect sweetness level for me. It was nice that it wasn't overly sweet like it can be at other places. The sausage and scone were two of my favorite parts of our meal. I loved the snap and flavor on the sausage. The scone was delicious as well, especially with the honey butter and strawberry jam. I definitely recommend trying an Utah Scone if you haven't yet! The prices were very reasonable. Parking was pretty easy in the lot. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served all day (check hours as they close at 2:00 on Sunday and Monday). We had lasagna and the berry crepes. The crepes were delicious! Filled with a berry flavored creamy filling, and topped with fresh ripe berries. It came with hashbrowns, two eggs, and your choice of bacon or sausage. My 5th time coming here. I keep coming back because my first experience was great and I'm trying to experience that again, but since that time, some things that I notice are consistently not great: 1. Bacon is always on the undercooked side. Always order it extra well done or crispy, even if you like it a little more chewy. 2. The toast is not toast. It's basically just bread with butter. No crisp to it whatsoever. 3. The hash browns have a mild taste of the oil they are cooked in and are not seasoned. Always on the leash crispy side, which is against what a hash brown should be. Went there for the first time today with my husband and I don't think that we have been treated so poorly on a restaurant before. We ordered a few plates so we could try other meals we usually don't eat (crepes) My husband ordered his breakfast with sausage, bacon, hash browns (which were raw) and he asked for a side of biscuits and gravy.. when the server brought our food we got a whole meal biscuits and gravy (flavorless and cold) hashbrown (raw) and sausage .. my husband told the server that he only order a side of the B&G and the server proceeded to argue with him which ruined all the experience and on top of that charge us for the whole meal we didn't asked for.. its was his mistake and he argued with us.. so rude! The weather was nice so we sat outside and ate and enjoyed the weather their patio was clean and spacious and they played music while u sat. Our waiter was on point very friendly and kind. My first time at this eatery was driven by some family friends who couldn't shut up about how great it was. This morning my wife and I went to follow and verify these loft claims. They weren't wrong. I got the blueberry and lemon crepes, which came with a large side dish of hashed browns, eggs to taste, and either sausage or bacon. They were beautifully plated, an artistic delivery that matched the multilayered flavors and tastes. I think my wife was talking to me but I couldn't concentrate with something that scrumptious in front of me. And oh my goodness the scones! We've visited Ramblin Roads a few times for brunch since they opened their Midvale location. Service and food has been hit and miss. Our most recent visit they were very busy and we asked to wait longer for a table versus being sat directly out of the kitchen where the traffic flow was constant. They sat us in a great location but then the service and food didn't shore up our visit. My food was cold and our server offered only to run my pancakes thru the warmer. So while I had hot pancakes my eggs and hash browns were cold. My husband's eggs benny he said were hot and he ate everything. We've frequented 2 of their other locations and while they could be amazing...they sadly aren't. While we may give them another try, there are much better brunch locations. read more

We love Ramblin Roads. I happened upon it when I was picking up Costa Vida. We didn't really have a "breakfast place" as a family, but Ramblin Roads is now it. We've been several times, and I've even gone with a friend to eat there. I like to get the 2x2x2x2 which has eggs, bacon, potatoes, and French toast if I remember right. The food is reliably good; it's hard to do breakfast wrong. But I LOVE the thickness and flavor of their bacon. Every server I've had has been awesome. It's always clean, and I've never had a wait. I also love the homey decor inside. No complaints from me. They've earned customers for life as long as we live where we do. read more

My cheesesteak and fries were really good! The fry sauce was especially delicious, which is a huge selling point for me. My husband seemed to enjoy his plate of breakfast as well. We ordered a scone to try, but they ran out. Overall, our server seemed pretty flustered and just the tiniest bit spacey? He wrote down the wrong menu item for me even when I both said it and pointed to it on my menu. But he did say it was the busiest day they'd ever had, so he may just have been stressed. It included shrimp scampi (rubbery and no flavor, I tried one and that was enough), cod fillets (2 and they were 3" long snd 1" wide, smallest "cod" I've seen) and 4 butterfly shrimp (again the smallest I've seen). The first issue was that we are pretty sure our waiter was drunk or at least had been drinking. You could clearly smell it on him when he'd speak to us and he was profusely sweating. Nice enough guy, but seemed a little scrambled. I had the fish sandwich and it was pretty gross. It was overcooked and drenched in cheese. Other members had the Navajo tacos and said they were decent. Then I went back for brunch because the waiter kept raving how their brunch was the best. It was fair. I will say the sweetheart mimosa was really good. I had a skillet type meal and it had broccoli that really wasn't cooked despite the rest of the veggies and eggs being well done. I also had a scone on the side that was so gross. It was way, way over cooked to the point it was hard and felt like I was biting into a cracker but then was saturated in grease so each crunchy bite was followed by a gush of fry grease in your mouth.
