I have lived in Philly and this is the real deal! The bun is not as firm and chewy as Geno's or Pat's in Philly but everything else is spot on. I got the pepper cheese steak, I loved the spicy peppers and grilled onions. The crinkle cut fries with whatever seasoning they use and the cheese sauce are killer. The service was really fast and really friendly, the food is cheap, and they have a small parking lot. There's a few little tables if you want to eat inside. Great food.... I tried 4 of their sandwiches (Beef, Chicken and Deluxe) all very good. They even made both the chicken and beef with no cheese for my son with food allergies. My other son wanted to try to the fish (crispy catfish) and chips which he loved. Very good value for the money. I ordered the full sandwich and the half. The half sandwich was plenty for one person. I've lived close to this place for almost a year, and never tried it until today. Totally amazing and 100% satisfied. The service was great, dude at the counter was so polite and to the point, and once everything was ordered and figured out, asked us what we were up to and even joked a bit with us. I mean, these guys made my experience so much better than expected. The atmosphere is unique and original, had no issue sitting down and eating here. I got the pizza chicken hoagie, half and no complaints. All praise actually. My dude got the cheese steak, and I freaking loved it, wish I got that actually! I ordered two cheesesteaks today for pickup - I was very pleased with everything. The guy who answered the phone was efficient - and said my order would be ready in 10 min. I drove over and sure enough, my fries were just being dished up (hot and crispy) and my hogies were kept hot under the heat lamps. They do cheesesteaks like I expect them to be. The Deluxe has steak, onion, peppers, hot peppers, mushrooms, white american cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, all on the perfect soft yet chewey roll. YUM!! Yes, the place is quite dirty, yes, the menu was honestly missing letters like 'teak' instead of 'steak' but it kind of adds to the divey charm of it. Im visiting from Salem OR and was really in the mood for a GOOD cheesesteak. Im staying in Kirkland and found this shop thru Yelp, I drove down, got a deluxe, cheese fries and drove back to my hotel. An hour round trip mind you. The store was very dirty, they didnt have any sodas, the place looked like it was on its last leg. This place was a great find. It isn't the easiest lot to get into depending which side of MLK/Rainier you are coming from, but once you figure it out you'll find it was worth the drive around the block to get in. There are very few Philly places in Seattle, and this is certainly one worth trying. They have a simple menu, and for one reason: The things they do they do really well, and don't stray from that. I won't be ballsy enough to say they are "authentic" Philly because everyone has their own interpretation of what that is. But I will say that they are delicious. And well priced. A full sandwich results in one the size of my arm, stuffed full with meaty, cheesy, oniony and peppery goodness--the kind of goodness that drips down your hand and into your lap. Nom nom. Service is quick, food is fresh and hot (I burned my lip one time--I know you are excited to dig in but blow on it first so you don't scorch your tastebuds!). My only complaint is that the space itself seems a bit shabby and could use a deep clean and a fresh coat of paint. But I've also learned that sometimes the grungy places are the most delicious.
