I have remodeled three kitchens and three bathrooms using glass tile from Oceanside Glass Tile, and I've been over-the-top happy with the results each time. My kitchen remodel is the latest, using spruce iridescent glass tile, along with some awesome dolphin tiles for accents. We didn't have enough tile to do the entire kitchen, so Cheryl and I Designed the area behind the stove using leftover tile from my swimming pool and some of their dolphin tiles. They have videos on their website that are helpful in learning how to install glass tile. This is the highest grade glass tile I've ever found, and my hope is that I dream up another place in my home that needs glass tile, so I can go back and work with Sheryl again! read more

Big bummer . I bought some glass tiles for my backsplash. Sheryl was very helpful and gave me a list of tile setters. She told me to hold out for the best one "Grant" I did even though he was more expensive. The tile turned out horrible. Lots of ghosting behind the entire thing. The tile people say it is installer error .... the installer says it is tile error. Here I am stuck with a 4 grand loss. Of course the tile guy has no time to come and fix it. When I called back Sheryl she was no longer nice . She will be great when she is selling not great at all when there is an issue. My designer sent me to them and she will no longer buy from them. They need to work with customers who have issues. Customer service when things go wrong is how consumers tell who does have good customer service. Beware read more

Update: The tile came in around 12 weeks and it was made incorrectly. It was supposed to be 1/3 of three different colors and was supposed to be random. It was made 1/2 white and was a pattern. Our installer got his money back and we went with an in stock subway tile. It is disappointing to see Oceanside is able to respond to a Google review in order to attempt to show customers they want to fix the problem, yet I contacted them by e-mail well before this complaint was ever written and they never responded. Thought the BBB, they stated the tile was made incorrectly twice, which was the reason for the delay. Yet they told Virginia Tile that their kiln was broken. So, the tile was made wrong three times by the end. Either way, they clearly should have communicated with Virginia Tile in a more professional manner, promply giving notice if they could not honor their promised dates. This officially cured us of ever doing a custom tile order again. Good luck with your business model, Oceanside. read more

We started with hundreds of color pallets, some custom color blends and some not. I had a vision and Sheryl and I really put it into play. I am a designer and builder by hobby. Who knew I could have a bathroom like Kobe? I came across XS Studios because of a $45 dollars for $200 bucks worth of tiles. I jumped on it since I was planning on remodeling my house anyways. The place isn't too hard to find; it's kind of in the middle of an industrial area. The thing I love and hate about this place is it's by appointment only. It gives it a classier feel to shopping here, but at the same time it could be a nuisance to plan a time you can roll up. Tamara will most likely be the one helping; she's this super friendly and helpful interior designer. After looking at the different mosaic tiles they had, I opt'ed to use my Groupon on flooring material called Brio. It's this heavy duty Spanish flooring found in many homes of celebrities. Because I live in a shoebox, my handy Groupon was sufficient for redeeming for enough flooring for the bathroom. The flooring was normally 9/sq ft, but because of the Groupon, I got them for 2/sq ft. I'm pretty stoked for my renovations and I'll post pictures when I'm done. Thanks XS Studios. About my credentials: So there was a leak in my bathroom. I convinced wifey to let me hire a contractor to gut the bathroom and redo it. Since she's super busy, she let me be in charge of everything. Little does she know my color palette is only 8 colors. My girlfriend and I found a few photos online that were made with tiles from Oceanside, and we just had to have them. The staff there is extremely knowledgeable and explained the whole process of how each batch is made and how individual they really are. Even though one of the samples that we liked was awesome, there just wasn't enough in stock, and because we were a little behind with our project, we decided to get something that is in stock. If we had the time and our product was not available, I would definitely have waited because it is worth it. So our liaison, Sheryl, was able to find a few more examples and send a bunch of photos via email so we could get the exact look we were going for. This was convenient for us because we live in Orlando, Florida. She really understood the look we wanted and matched our taste to the photos she sent. We ended up even liking one of the others better and placed our order. So, I just wanted to let you know how awesome the experience was in dealing with Oceanside, and what a great job they did. Terrible service and quality. Ordered 2 types of tiles.the mosaic was great but the 4x4.had manufacturing defect. The surface of the tile wasn't finished right and the surfacewas like 2000 grit sandpaper. If you ran a finger over the tile it would leave a streak. The whole job installed was 20k so this was unacceptable Our installer and local vdistributor tried numerous things suggested by ocean tile over 7 months and it was putting a bandage on an open wound. I finally said I wasvgoing to sue and the locals agreed to reinstall replacement tile they both told me Oceanside wouldn't admit anything. As a final test we had the local pull a sample if my exact tile and it didn't leave a streak when I ran my finger over it. Oceanside is screwing over my installer and is not covering any reinstall costs.is just just not right. My advice is do the finger streak test on any tile you buy from these folks. I'm sure I'm not the only one git a bad batch.. read more

After going to many tile places we are very pleased with the beautiful tile we found at the Studio by Oceanside Glasstile. Sheryl was very patient, showed us many tiles, and made several samples for us to take home. We got 4 different glass tile patterns for two waterfalls, a spa and waterline for our pool. We got installation and maintenance care from both Sheryl and Tony in the warehouse. They custom formatted our spa tile and Sheryl gave a great recommendation on using a clear film rather than paper backing. The clear film allows the tile setter to more accurately place the tiles, reduce adjustments and speed the process. read more

I found XS Studio while looking around the website of Oceanside Glasstile (www.glasstile.com) - I had checked out some of Oceanside's products at the Merchandise Mart here and Chicago and had fallen in love with their tile's beautiful colors and patterns. I set up an appointment to visit XS Studio (basically an outlet store for Oceanside) while I was on vacation in Southern California thinking I could see more of their products in person as I was planning my kitchen backsplash design. I met with Tamara who was unbelievably helpful in making both creative and cost-effective suggestions for our kitchen design. I loved having her input since I can be VERY indecisive and she actually was much more helpful than any of the 3 high-end tile studios I visited while in Chicago. Aside from the limited supply of some patterns available, it didn't feel like I was in an outlet store at all (and also the prices - their tile normally sells for over $80/square foot - most of the tile I looked at at XS was under $20) . The selection that they had at the studio was actually quite large which gave us several options and I ended up placing the order for our kitchen there that day! Once I returned home with samples, I decided to change my order somewhat and again, Tamara was very accomodating. She was able to show me some items they had just received in on their website (which is easy to use if you know what you're looking for) and got the updated order in easily. Extraordinary in every way. The service we received and glasstile product could not be higher quality. The wide selection of first quality, beautiful, glasstile overruns available at The Studio made it possible for us to finish our kitchen in the way we hoped within our budget. More valuable than the tile, was the expert, PATIENT, advice we received from Sheryl - a designer at the Studio showroom. At the time we were making our tile selection, our family was scattered literally all over the world- so we were on the phone and on Facetime- reviewing tiles with Sheryl, taking pictures, traveling back and forth to the kitchen with different samples. I honestly do not know how Sheryl kept her composure with us, let alone continued to work with us, and honed down appropriate choices until we found the perfect mosaic and coordinating tile to feature over the stove. She helped us design the kitchen layout. Sheryl has a keen design sense, and a gentle manner that is helpful without being pushy. Sheryl is a kind soul with a wonderful eye for color and design. Oceanside Glasstile was the worst experience with a tile order I have ever had. I have built several homes over my life time and have always enjoyed the process. Oceanside Glasstile not only said the order would be arriving in 6 to 8 weeks, but when the several thousand dollar order arrived. It was 4 months later and half the product was broken or not what was displayed and promoted to be the product. I was not refunded my money and was disrespected and belittled. When I took my complainants to the CEO of Oceanside Glasstile, Jon Marx, he accosted me, sexually harassed and stalked me for many months. This company is the absolute worst company/corporation I have ever worked with. There is total lack of professionalism and it amazes me they are still in business. I suggest you stay as far away from this company as possible! read more

We were going for a very specific look for our kitchen remodel. We loved the look of the glass fleet blue collection and needed it on an expedited basis. Our local dealer in Utah was unwilling to work with us and told us it was not possible. I contacted Oceanside directly and, even though every tile is handmade, they made room in the furnace for our tile on their next run. We had it within a couple of weeks and in plenty of time for our project. When I opened the tile boxes about a week before our install date, I found that the tile we received was the wrong style. I called Oceanside immediately fully expecting there to be nothing we could do. Somehow they moved heaven and earth and were able to make another batch of the correct tile and have it to us on the day before our install. I am still in shock that it all came together. They also let me keep the other tile which I will likely use in a bathroom remodel. I have nothing but praise for this company and their amazing tile. read more

I ran across XS Studio by Oceanside Glasstile on the internet when I was searching for glass tile for my pool. What a great find! They offer clearance specials up to 70% off from the Oceanside Glasstile product lines! I had seen some of these gorgeous tiles at the pool supply showroom, but the prices were far beyond our budget for a pool renovation. I called about some of the tiles I saw on the XS Studio website that were a fraction of the regular price. I spoke with Sheryl and she did a marvelous job from start to finish, suggesting specific products for a pool application and coming up with a tile that was not yet even on the website yet, but was in the perfect color range for the tropical look we were trying to achieve. She helped us through figuring out how much tile we would need, shipping arrangements and even proper sealing and maintenance using OceanCare products. Everything arrived promptly as scheduled, carefully packaged and delivered on a shrink-wrapped pallet. I have never yelped before.... but this person, Tamara C., at xs studio / oceanside glass tile --(http://www.glasstile.com) is well worth yelping about.! I had used oceanside glass tile previously in my home and love it! Once you have laid eyes on their tiles and designs...nothing else can compare! I wanted to create a fountain wall for my pool, so I set up a phone appointment with Tamara. I explained to her what I was looking for and sent her a few pictures of what I already had so she could get a sense of my style. I was stuck...and didn't know what I wanted to do with this blank wall. Within minutes of our conversation she came up with designs, ideas, colors, and patterns that she thought would capture what I was looking for and started sending me pictures of tiles and colors she thought would work for me. Her very keen eye caught every detail in the photos I sent her. Her enthusiasm was infectious and I felt completely confident in her choices to convey what I wanted. And she nailed it! She just plain got it right--spot on!!! Anyone who is lucky enough to deal with Tamara will be extremely happy on all levels. Did I forget to mention the price???
