My husband ordered me a cake for my birthday. I have a few dietary restrictions. No wheat, no cake sugar, no yeast. I am pretty picky so buying a cake at a supermarket is not an option. Not worth it when I pay the price for eating things I am allergic to. We went to pick up the cake in Granada Hills from Lynwood. The cake survived the 1 hour drive. Looked just as when we got it from Natalie. My husband ordered enough for 10 people but I wish he would have purchased the next size up. The cake itself is good. A little moist. Subtle lemon flavor. The frosting is butter based so a little heavy and had a delicious subtle lemon flavor. The strawberries are fresh. Decoration beautiful. The compliment I can give Natalie is that we tried a few local brick and mortar bakeries that offer limited paleo/keto items near us and I was not impressed. I am glad we went with the paleo queen. The texture and flavor is spot on. The only thing I would do differently for next time would be the frosting of choice. The butter frosting was good but I am used to the airy more soft frosting in traditional cakes. Considering I am not a hardcore paleo follower and only avoid things I am allergic too (I can have dairy) I would choose a cream cheese frosting next time.
