We got takeout from here; our first time trying this place, even though it has caught our eye for quite sometime. The pictures attached, are at home, on the plate. When we called to order, they answered by the second ring, which is something I appreciate. They were friendly, and informative. It was an easy process. Parking was open and good, even though when we went inside to pick up our order, the restaurant was pretty full (on a Sunday night around 7:45) with young, trendy people. This wasn't surprising as it matched the decor, young and trendy. I really liked the vibe and atmosphere inside the restaurant, and we can't wait to go back to experience the very nice patio outside. The price was a little high, but not crazy. We ordered the spicy seafood linguine, the large one which is enough for two people, and a beet and goat cheese salad. The pasta was decent, not the best I have ever had. They give you a nice amount of shellfish, which is good, but the sauce lacked the "wow" factor. I would have done something different with that recipe. We enjoyed eating it though. The salad was though, phenomenal. It had an arugula base, beets, sweet potatoes, and a piece of crispy goat cheese. The dressing paired well and the salad is something I would try again. Arrived around 8:00pm Sunday night. And got seated within 10min. We wanted to try Pizzeria Bianco but the wait was long so we decided to try this place instead. The google rating was higher than bianco and over 1000 reviews but the food was not that good. We ordered a salad, a roma pizza, and a pesto pasta. The salad was average but the pizza and pasta was off. It was like they were using nice ingredients but could not get the basics right. The pizza bottom was weirdly doughy/soft. Like the crust area was cooked but bottom was under cooked. Maybe the oven was not hot enough? Pizza was also so salty. Even without the mozzarella and meat, the pizza was too salty. The pasta had a weird texture as well - not al dente, possibly overcooked. Under salted this time. Also, the waitresses did not seem to enjoy their jobs. Today I had soup and salad at the Parlor. It was beautiful. It was a lentil soup with small bites of potatoes. I was tempted to tip the bowl up and drink the last drop (like we did when our parents weren't looking when we were kids. Next I enjoyed a beet salad with goat cheese and avocado and arugula. It was sooooo good I wish I could back up and eat it all over again. I know that the owner (Aric) and a biz partner (Matt) are going to open the Farm at Los Olivos. It's a spectacular plan that the community overwhelmingly supports. That will be an organic farm with an education center and concessions where the harvested foods will be served. Service was good, as usual, but I was very disappointed in the pizza. It just wasn't hot. It did have cold buratta strewn on top, but the crust was more warm than hot and by the time I got to the last slice, the pie was downright cold. Skimpy toppings, too. This used to be a go-to place for me, especially when they have their summer corn pizza. But I likely won't return. I should have sent it back, so that is on me. But I hate wasting food when people are starving; it will just be thrown away and that makes me crazy. Bianco's is nearby. And while it costs a bit more, I never have had a cold pizza there and no place has a better crust. And heck, the pizza I make a home using my Ooni outside or the Baking Steel inside is far superior to what I had today at The Parlor. The drink was amazing but the pizza was just OK. However, the interior and service were also super good. We had dinner for my daughter's 16th birthday last week and The Parlor did not disappoint! Our server, Aily, was kind, attentive and helpful and made our night extra special. We had appetizers, pizza, pasta, and shared several desserts and every single item was simply outstanding. My cocktail was excellent as well. Went on a Sunday late afternoon. 3 in our party one football fan so we opted for the bar which had a television for his viewing pleasure. Waitstaff was prompt friendly and patient as we didn't know what we wanted drink wise finally ended up with sangria one red one white both were delicious. Tried the Old Fashion, lemon ricotta ravioli, pappardelle bolognese, parlor burger, Roma pizza and spicy Florentine. I really want to give The Parlor 5 stars but their customer service last night was really lacking. First, my party of seven arrived at 6:40pm on a Tuesday night and I get that it was unusually busy for a Tuesday and we had a large group so when they told us it would be a 20-30 minute wait... no problem but after an HOUR of waiting and we still hadn't been seated nor had anyone come to check on us I decided to wait just another ten minutes before leaving but the hostess finally came and told us our table was ready. Then, our server was painstakingly S L O W.... He brought us all waters to start and then didn't come back for another 10 minutes to take our drink orders so we decided to order our food and drinks at the same time in case he decided to disappear again for another 10-15 minutes. For these reasons alone, I would give the Parlor 2-3 Stars. With so many great dining options in Greater Phoenix, you really cannot afford to be short-staffed or have bad customer service. What saved this rating was the food: easily 5 stars. All of their pasta and pizza doughs are made in-house from scratch and it shows. I had the Pappadelle Bolognese but I've tried pretty much everything on their menu and it is all wonderful. I will probably be back but definitely not during peak times. read more

Let me open by saying this was one of the best pizzas I have ever had in my life. Dare I say it rivals or exceeds what I had when I lived in New York. And that is a bold statement. The crust is light, crispy slightly airy, and absolutely delicious. You can fully appreciate all the flavors - and you don't walk away feeling waited down or bloated after you leave. The garden mojito that was ordered was probably the weakest link - I would say it was just average - but it was good and strong. And the service from the wait staff was absolutely impeccable. This is definitely a place I will shortlist on my upcoming trips to Phoenix. And one of the most phenomenal pizza places I have experienced in a long time. I am thoroughly impressed. read more
