My first impressions of Pasta House weren't great. The sign truly makes me think of Fazoli's and the interior is as though Applebee's had cheaped out on store design. As it happens, I'd have been happier with Fazoli's since, at Fazoli's at least you know what you're getting. Our appetizer was an order of Toasted Ravioli. I'd say they were about as good as the ones you get on the side of your pizza order. Since they were similarly priced, I wasn't mad. The salads were a more interesting case. We were asked if we wanted salad with our dinner. Two of us went for it. The house salad was a small, relatively soggy plate of iceberg and veg. The Caesar, on the other hand, was a massive bowl of Romaine with a few sodden croutons and a great deal of parmesan. It was at this point that I suspected that there was something I hadn't realized about the salad order. More on that later. Our meals arrived shortly thereafter and we were not at all impressed. The baked Mostaccioli was topped with provel, a cheese whose texture I have yet to gain a tolerance for since moving to STL. The sauce used in this dish could best be described as a cousin to whatever they put into a can of spaghetti o's. We ordered a meatball with it and the dense hunk of meat which arrived wouldn't have been too out of place in that can either. The tortellini in cream sauce was a disaster. The tortellini themselves had a gummy and off-putting texture. This was offset by a sauce which was completely unencumbered by flavor. The bright spot of this dish was the peas, which were reasonably al dente, and the shrimp which was adequately prepared. The Lasagne al Forno was probably the star of the table with a sauce nobody minded eating. Unfortunately, the noodles suffered from a similar affliction as those hapless tortellini mentioned above. What really capped off the meal was receiving the check and realizing that neither of us had ordered a "side salad". You may recall I was suspicious of this in terms of that gigantic Caesar and completely expected the 9.99 charge for that. On the other hand, the $8.19 charged for that snively limp little house salad was really uncalled for. If I never eat at this place again, it will be too soon. read more

Wow has pasta house gone downhill over the years. My hubsband has always loved Pasta House since he was a kid. (He's 44 now) I did too. It was my moms favorite restaurant, the first place we went when she flew in from out of town and she always got the same thing- large toasted ravioli, pasta house salad, and cheese garlic bread. I have been to various locations over the years and I would say the decline is all location/company wide. Knowing the downward slope of the food over the years we don't go often, but my husband saw an ad and requested it tonight. We ordered take out. First of all the price- it is pasta. I can buy a box of pasta for 1.00. I can make a giant pot of pasta con broccoli for less than 20.00 so to pay 17.99 for a serving of pasta con broccoli with 2 pieces of broccoli and lacking the touch of marinara it always has had was crazy, but we did it anyway. A single serve pasta house salad with only lettuce and a few pimentos, red onion, and a dash of Parmesan cheese was 7.99...I paid 1.00 for extra artichoke hearts but got none. The baby rolls of French bread were also great and plentiful, but now even with a 2 pasta, one salad, and eggplant parm appetizer I had to order and pay for 6 extra rolls to ensure we had enough. The salad lacks the toppings and taste it used to have. It is primarily iceberg lettuce with red wine vinegar and that is not worth 8.00. I know the prices of everything has gone up, but this dinner of a pasta con broccoli, a rigatoni Roma, 1 small salad, and eggplant app should not cost almost 70.00. We considered rich and Charlie's bc he loves that too, but it is further away...next time we will make the drive their prices may be similar but the portions are bigger and consistency has not changed in all these years. Time to get back to basics pasta house...you became a STL staple for a reason, but you have definitely lost your luster in my opinion. read more

I got the Fettuccine Alfredo and it looked store bought, literally looked like and tasted like Stouffer's Fettuccine Alfredo. The service was okay. My server was too lazy to get me a side of meat sauce and mumbled the entire time. The place was okay, the bathrooms smelt like a mix of air fresheners and smoke plus a hint of chlorine. Wife and I dropped in on Sunday afternoon for early dinner. We split the Big Fish Sandwich with broccoli and salad. We were seated promptly and greeted by server soon thereafter. Food temperature, taste, and portions were all great. Server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. One big turnoff was fruit fly infestation. I know this is a common issue with many restaurants and difficult to control. It is, however, why we ceased dining at the now closed Pasta House in Manchester. Restaurant does have a great patio .. so we likely won't return until spring/summer! read more

I ordered takeout today. It was $35 for the lunch menu meal. The salad was watery and had been made up for hours by the looks of it. My pasta sauce was a watery milk like consistency over over cooked pasta! The chicken flamingo was also a disappointment. This restaurant caters to their customers. Jessica is amazing. Eric the owner and Brian the house manager are so accommodating. We had a fundraiser for Jefferson County Sheriff and with the help of these three people we knocked it out of the park. Will be back for dinners and drinks for sure. There are a lot of people who overlook this restaurant but that is a mistake. The food is good and the staff is always friendly. It's easy to get a table on short notice and we have ordered carryout from this location several times with no problems. I have even used them to cover catering orders on short notice without any issues. Don't wait 40 minutes for a table at another restaurant in Arnold, go here instead. read more

Since this post, the manager Eric, has reached out to me, and has resolved the issue to my satisfaction. He was very transparent about the tip issue, and stated that issue has been resolved. As far as the issue with the salad and how it was handled, he is sending out compensation for our trouble. I also expressed that he was not losing a patron because of how he professionally took care of us. I would still recommend the Pasta House in Arnold. read more

What happened? It use to be a place we enjoy. We went there for carryout tonight. The artichoke dip was a very small bowl with non toasted bread, $13!!! We returned it and the manager literally said 'don't you know what you are buying before you buy it' (I'm not kidding). We continued to take home the fish sandwich and a chicken club, Just for those two items it was $35 (one slice of cheese $1.50). We had asked for lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion on the side for our CLUB sandwich and all there was was wilted lettuce pieces and one end of a tomato slice. No pickles and no onions. An old favorite The Pasta House. Unfortunately the one in our hometown closed. While out of town celebrating my birthday we ate lunch here. The food was amazing just as I remember. Part of my order was missing, ordered spaghetti and meatballs got the extra meatball, but when I ordered the rigatoni carbonara with chicken I got no chicken paid for it and everything but got nothing. All I got was it will probably take a half an hour to make because we have other diners. So disappointed. Our waitress was amazing, food is terrible. An Italian roast beef sandwich was actual lunch meat roast beef instead of a beef roast. The fish was a frozen fish fillet with no sauce or toppings. I have been coming to Pasta House since I was kid and to this location. I always order the fettuccine Alfredo and these last 3 visits have been disappointing. The pasta has been full of pepper and that's all I can taste. I asked for light on the pepper but they said they couldn't do that. My class and I were visiting St.Louis from the University of Memphis, and we decided to come get some pasta, despite the 2.5 star review. It was great! The service, food and atmosphere were all wonderful. Our waitress was very helpful in recommending me her favorite dish, which I ordered, and she always made sure our glasses were full. (I think her name was Alana, Aaliyah...?) Per her recommendation I got the Chicken Flamingo, which was moist and tender, and a side of red pasta, which was also great. I also got a cheesecake cupcake, which was THE BOMB, in addition to a 15% discount because I am military. I highly recommend going here! read more

The Pasta House Co. is a long time St. Louis standard....and it's an alright place. Today I tried something different - the grilled salmon! Since it's an entree, I got to have their delicious side salad to start. I also had the choice of pasta or Italian potatoes with my meal. I had pasta with white sauce...which was ok. My salmon had a nice flavor on the charred surface, while the inside was nicely done & still tender - not over cooked like I've experienced at other restaurants. I would definitely order the salmon again! Just for fun we tried their cheesecake...I am picky about my desserts as I am a baker in my spare time so I was a little disappointed. With that being said, there's nothing like homemade cheesecake! We'll just have to try a different dessert next time we visit read more

My recent visit last Sunday was not my best visit! We've previously eaten here, prior to the renovations and the food was typical, yummy pasta house. On our recent visit, the service was ok, by the food quality was poor. I ordered the lunch chicken flamingo, bf ordered lunch tutto mare. Our salads, rolls, and his tutto mare were good, as usual. Sadly, my chicken flamingo was a hot mess. It tasted nothing like it ever had before. The piece of chicken was minuscule. And it left a lot to be desired, considering all I could taste was vinegar. The pasta was hard and the sauce not creamy at all like it usually is. After just a bite, I let the server know all of these things. I told her I didn't need a replacement, but I couldn't eat this. She was apologetic and took it away, no problem. The awkward part was when the manager came over, stood over me, and questioned me to great detail about what I was wrong with my food. I mean, why wouldn't he just take the server's word for it instead of putting me on the spot? It was clear I hadn't eaten but a bite, although maybe not to them since the piece of chicken was so tiny. He ended up taking it off the bill, but it caused us to have to wait forever for the check. We'll probably go back because we're in the area sometimes, and hopefully this was an isolated incident they can improve upon. read more

I hadn't been out since the pandemic, but I've really missed Pasta House! I've been craving the salad and garlic bread, so I had those to start. The salad was fresh and tasted great and the garlic bread is always amazing! For dinner, I ordered Lasagna at the recommendation of my server Samantha and it was so goooooddd!! It is really a big disappointment to look at a menu, pick out a dish from the photo in the menu and when it arrives at your table looks NOTHING like the menu photo. This was my experience tonight. Basically folks. Do not order the chicken risotto. What arrives is a large bowl of yellow risotto mostly. With slivers of chicken and several mushrooms hidden under the mound of yellow. Taste??? A very mild flavor. The chicken tasty, or I would have returned it. I decided I would take most of it home to my husband. I decided to bring this to the attention of our sweet waitress. She shook her head yes in agreement and replied that the photo is from corporate, but they are privately owned. She proceeded to say she would pass along my complaint. I hope so. read more

We had a small birthday party in the back room last week. The front desk helped me bring in the cake. We displayed the cake, cards, and gifts on one of the tables. Seated at a table, restaurant was not busy around 2pm on Sunday. We waited for a server to come to the table, just about 5 minutes before our waiter showed up. We ordered our food a sandwich plate and a pasta plate,.The salad and rolls were served quickly, and was good. We waited for the order to be delivered and it showed up approximately 20 minutes later, unfortunately the food was lukewarm at best. Had server come to table and complained about food temp, he apo logized and took food away to have the order remade, another 20 minutes the food reappeared, it was better. The pasta con broccoli at this location is different from other locations of pasta house, no sign of red sauced mixed with white sauce for the signature pasta con broccoli, it looked just like my white pasta with my sandwich. This location needs better over seeing by the main office, just an mediocre dining experience. read more

Take an Imo's, add a few meat dishes, some crappy plastic tablecloths and indifferent service and viola! Pasta House! It's just so unnecessary with about 1000 other Italian restaurants in St. Louis. IWhen you walk in and look around, you know there is just no way you're going to have a great meal here. The ambiance is downright crippling. Cheap and dated sums it up nicely. Adding to the downward spiral, the young server was oddly neutral. I guess enthusiasm is frowned upon - don't want to spoil the drab look and feel of the place, I guess. After looking at the menu for a bit, I asked my wife what looked good. She just scrunched her face. I was also coming up blank. Even though they offer all the standard Italian fare, some of which we usually like, we just weren't reading these menu items and envisioning sometihng delicious. Prices were not especially cheap, either. Surprisingly, though, the food ended up being okay, probably worthy of three stars. The salads are still pretty good - same as they ever were, better than a lot of other places. I'd really love to be able to make it at home. We also tried a chicken dish and mac and cheese. The chicken was tender and had a nice charred taste - not bad. The mac and cheese was not bad either, but didn't appeal to our little one. The flavor was maybe too interesting. She kept saying it wasn't as good as the box kind. It is, trust me. All in all, this Pasta House only exists to bridge the gap between Denny's and Olive Garden. read more
