Super Duper Hipster Chic Cute! Love this place! My friend took me here and it's SOOOO quaint and adorable! This converted house is an amazing place to chill and have some drinks with friends! Super super cute on the inside and very cozy! They have some vintage looking furniture upstairs and a cuuUuUuuUuute outdoor fire-pit area! LOVE this place for beer flights! It took me a long time, and someone else's invitation to get me to the Patriarch. I'd seen pictures and driven by and it looked so fun. But....I'm not a beer person.... Or maybe I should say WASN'T. The bartenders are super helpful in directing you to a selection that will please your palate and wet your whistle. The flight of beer is an excellent choice for a newbie or veteran and allows you to sample four beers. As for the beer, there were probably close to 50 choices on tap. A variety of canned ciders, a few wines, and a few cocktails were also available. As for food, the patriarch itself does not serve food. But, there is typically a food truck on site and we were informed you can bring your own food in. The set up is amazing. Tons of outdoor seating with yard games, live music, and twinkle lights. Or there is seating indoors too. The inside definitely has that quaint and cozy feel you would expect in an old house. The Patriarch is a great place for any occasion. The Patriarch is one of the few reasons I will truly plan a visit to Edmond. Don't get my wrong, Edmond is fine, but I don't live there and rarely have a reason to visit. If I find myself up there I might visit a few places, but The Patriarch is one of the few destinations that is such a unique experience you can't find anywhere else in the state. Now I love craft beer. I love old houses that are refurbished and converted into new businesses. I love patios. I also love food. The Patriarch married all of my loves into on perfect concept that has me coming back year round! They are perfect to visit for a day drink, when they are hosting an event collaborating with a local brewery or when you just craving some yakitori from OK-YAKI in the back. They have a huge and rotating selection of craft beer and do a great job highlighting local brews. If you haven't been yet, then you have to just see this place and experiencing the magic yourself. read more

The only way the Patriarch could be better would be to open on Sunday. Thankfully they're closed, so I may maintain gainful employment. As many of you know, I'm originally from Edmond and go home once a month to visit family. Every time I go home, I like to catch up with my friends but they never want to venture to Edmond because "there's nothing cool there." Well guess what folks, there's finally a place in Edmond that's cool enough for my friends to come to. We met up on Saturday night (I was also here on Friday to take a look) and all of us had a blast. It's a very low key spot, tons of craft beer on tap, and super helpful staff that will help you choose the perfect beer if you're not sure what you like. They will let you sample any of the taps, and you can also create a flight at a discounted rate. The bar is in an old house (over 100 years old) and each room is an area you can occupy with friends. There are also rooms upstairs, with a little game area too. The backyard is pretty spacious with a few seating options and a fire pit. What a quaint bar this is! We walked up, the bouncer checked our IDs, and there's an option to either go inside or take advantage of the massive outdoor seating area. There was also a food truck on the side that had some delicious looking tacos for sale. I didn't get any since I wasn't hungry, but my goodness did they look good! The vibe outside was very chill, and I noticed how people were there with their entire families, even their dogs! On the inside, you see the wide variety of beers they have. It's advertised as a beer bar, but they had whiskeys too (I'm guessing for St. Patty's) at all very reasonable prices. No food themselves, but with the easily accessible food trucks that's no issue. Oh, did I mention this place is a house? We then went upstairs and saw a bunch of different rooms where people were just relaxing and playing games! This is probably the coolest bar I have been to in OKC. So first of all, it is a two storey house that has been transformed into a bar. The bar has an assortment of beers on tap and when I say assortment, I mean over forty. I'm not much of a beer drinker but I love wine, a good ale or cider or alcoholic apple juice lol (don't judge) and they had a couple of choices that suited my needs. That made me one happy gal. They had quiet sections upstairs and downstairs if you wanted a quiet place to gather your thoughts or take a phone call or just sit with friends and chat. The backyard had sitting areas and a spot for a band that was playing. They also had four clean bathrooms guys. Clean. I was there for about four hours and when I left, they were still clean. Great place for you to chill with friends. There're a lot of house brew beer for you to choose from. If you have no idea what to get, just let the server know what kind of beer you would like to have tonight, such as, sweet, light beer, fruity taste, etc. and they will provide you some sample that they think will match your flavor for you to taste before you make your decision! Probably my new favorite place! This reminds me of my favorite bar in college at Arizona State University (Go SunDevils!). It was an old house, and it's in the heart of Downtown Edmond. My favorite thing about them is they only support local Oklahoma brews. I came here for the first time on flight night.... YES FLIGHT NIGHT, not pint night. I LOVE me a good, decorative, tasty flight! The service is quick, there was a food truck out back, and the company was fabulous.
