They have great prices and a legit Caribbean stock of items that are irresistible! Jerk sauces, seasonings, spices, snacks and more! They had the fresh hand pies but I missed out on the other hot foods! I had to grab some jerk....sauce and seasoning mix in addition to some of the candies you will have a hard time finding elsewhere! Everything was run by a Trinidadian and they gave it epic approval with the excitement of finding the candies! Needless to say this is a great find and worth a visit especially if you are from the islands! They've only been here for 9 months so I look forward to this quaint spot being able to go all out and I look forward to their warm offerings next time!

The first time I went they just opened for a few weeks, and had 2 items. Today I went, and I had Stew Chicken with Rice/Peas and a side of Jamaican style slaw. They were nice to give me a piece of Oxtail. I also ordered a beef patty. They only had Mushroom stew, Oxtail, and the Stew Chicken today. The Chicken was tasty , but it was small chunks with bones. I think it was solid, but could have used a bit more heat. Id say the same goes for the oxtail. The slaw was vinegar based with some other flavors, reminded me of a less spicy guatamalan slaw that comes with pupusas. The beef patty gave me NYC and NJ Jamaican patty vibes. I think I liked that the best. They were generous about the rice, I couldnt (wouldnt!) finish it all since I didnt want to go to sleep so early. I think my biggest constructive criticism is they need more veggies on the plate(I think something more than the slaw) and more heat in the chicken/oxtail. Doesnt need to be rocket fuel, but a nice kick. I also think having Jerk Chicken ready is a must. Im always down for that. Very quick and nice service, seems chill. The place to me seems like they are still getting their footing. The building the mart is in, is very difficult for many businesses to stay open. The corner cafe few doors down has changed ownership and business like 4 times in the past 2 years. Probably more in the past 5. I hope this place stays(was an armenian bakery), I'll come back, but I hope theres Jerk next time, There arent a lot of Jamaican places in this area of LA, a few closed down the past 10 years, and only Sattdown is still in business in Studio City. Its a testament to their quality and also location. I dont drive now, so I have to wait for free delivery from Sattdown. This place for convenience (5 minutes by bike) and the solid quality(If they can maintain and exceed it) would make it a place Id go a few times or more per month.
