Ok so this place grabbed my attention on Instagram through recent collabs (rosens bagels, etc). It seemed innovative and was recommended by a friend - so decided to check it out this weekend. We got: -Brussels: 9/10 - I honestly couldn't stop eating -Brisket Hash (no egg): 7.5/10 - no complaints -Steak and Eggs: 8/10 - flavorful, just a bit salty Solid meal - I was not disappointed. As someone who visits Austin quite often, I've tried many Austin staples and trendy new restaurants. After visiting this past weekend, The Peached Tortilla is definitely my new favorite spot in Austin! I ordered pork buns, dan dan noodles, and matcha mousse off the restaurant week menu for only $35. My friend ordered wings and the chicken and we had plenty leftover to take home. The servers were attentive and explained each dish as it was brought to the table. For asian fusion, this restaurant does a great job of not being pretentious, inauthentic, or too hipster. I felt the flavors were well balanced and delicious. Since it was my friends birthday, they brought out an extra dessert and a handwritten card! My personal favorite dishes of the night were the dan dan noodles and both the desserts. If I could described the food at Peached Tortilla in one word it would be: flavorful. Between four people we split... *Mom's Toast: 6 pieces of deep fried bread with a flavorful sauce on top. It was quite simple but tasted pretty good. *Brussels Sprouts: I'm a big fan. The brussels sprouts were cooked to perfection and the flavor was on point. *Taco Trio: We got one fish taco, one beef taco and one banh mi taco. I'm typically not a big fan of banh mi but this taco was so good! I loved the beef one as well, but the fish one was a little bland. *Pork Belly Bowl: The pork belly is SO tender. This was probably one of my favorites. *Southern Fun: A modern twist on your typical chow fun dish. It's a little spicy but I loved the kick. As the cherry on top to our already-fabulous meal, we received complimentary dessert and it was delicious! I think it was sort of a fried banana chocolate eggroll with a creamy dipping sauce. Yum. I went to The Peached Tortilla this past weekend for brunch with some friends after hearing really good things about it. We ordered the bbq pork buns, dumplings, charred brussels, and brisket hash and then the espresso alexander to drink. I think my favorite was the brussels sprouts. My only recommendation would be for the brisket hash to either remove the corn and focus on the main ingredients or replace the corn with something else. The restaurant was very covid friendly with not only distanced seating, but they also took your temperature before even seating us, which is something I haven't seen at a restaurant before. The service was great and our waitress was super awesome. Our group ordered a few different appetizers and she made sure they were spaced out bringing them one by one, so it wasn't all at once. I worked with Roslyn at The Peached Tortilla, and she could not have been more accommodating with all of the changes due to pandemic reschedules and guest count. While we didn't get to try the food since we are located in Philadelphia, the reviews and photos did not do the food justice! Everything was delicious. Food is decent but definitely expect to pay for their branding. Food 4/5; value 2/5 -- came for Sunday brunch and got the taco trio (got 2 banh mi tacos and 1 fish taco instead of brisket because I'm not a big fan of brisket) and thought they were decent. The pork belly/pulled pork in the banh mi tacos were well-flavored but not melt-in-your-mouth juicy. Crunchy fish taco was pretty standard. I was disappointed at the amount of food in each taco though -- the fish taco came with only 1 piece of fish fillet and the banh mi tacos were a little more substantial in size but definitely not comparable to what you would get at torchy's. I would have been fine with the serving sizes except that the tacos together (with no sides included) came out to $13 without tax or tip (around 4.33 per taco). As for the fusion foods themselves, the banh mi tacos were an interesting idea but I still think the ingredients would've tasted better in the traditional banh mi bread (as opposed to chilantro's where the Korean BBQ meat and the flour tortillas seem to compliment one another so well). I also tried some of my friend's burger and brisket benedict. I did really like the flavoring of the sauce they put on the burger -- gave it an Asian/fruity/citrus-y twist, but otherwise was unimpressed with the Benedict and the fries. The char on the sprouts paired well with the jam. We finished our meal off with the southern fun with tofu instead of brisket for a meatless option. Went to the peached tortilla last night and while the food and service were overall good, I wish the staff had better allergy training. The menu is labeled with gluten free items which is great and the waitress immediately asked if anybody had allergies so I assumed we were in good hands. However when going over the menu the waitress said "if you're gluten free, you can't eat soy, right?" Soy does not fall under the gluten umbrella which I told her and then she started telling me that I don't have to stick to the labeled gf items. That didn't make sense to me until I realized she meant soy sauce. Soy and soy sauce are wayyyy different. Soy is gluten free, but soy sauce is not!!! We were able to work through it and I didn't get sick but it did make me lose a little bit of confidence. When it comes to allergies eating out can be nerve wracking, so proper verbiage is extremely important. If the menu wasn't already labeled, by saying I'm not allergic to soy I probably would have ended up sick. read more

My husband picked this place for our casual valentines dinner. Place looked alright and very very cash. We were seated on the covered patio. It started to get windy so before we ordered, I politely asked to be seated on another table which was not right by the plastic flap they had covering the patio. So we ordered from the menu, it was pretty good, but not my first choice. Food was really really mediocre to below mediocre. Chard cabbage was decent. The spice cauliflower was decent with the smoked yogurt pairing but both dishes looked and tasted like I made it from home. We did enjoy the pasta dish (Korean short rib), the pasta was perfectly cooked. Butter poached Hake (fish dish) lacked flavor and the sauce was thick and greenish (not so appetizing to look at pr take a pic of). Bokchoy that came with it had more bitter taste to it than anything. Lastly: the Sunday Funday dessert was just like having whipped cream with a bit of tapioca in it. I think they forgot to add the flavor in. We ended up going somewhere else for another dinner and dessert afterwards. What a waste! Service wise... we did not get lucky with our server. This is an awesome brunch place, the food is pretty good but the only catch is the service is pretty slow. It opens at 11 am and you must assume at least 30 mins of wait after placing your order. They have only one vegetarian option listed as Avocado Toast but there are 2 additional steak/brisket dishes that can be made vegetarian by replacing meat with veggies. It's on a higher budget end for the portion sizes served. On a table of 6 people, 5 people ordered Brisket Hash or the vegetarian version of that because that seemed to be most filling option of all. The food tastes delicious, we shared an order of Nutella Toast as a dessert which was pretty nice if considered a dessert. For the vegetarian version of Brisket Hash, they replace meat with mushroom, bell peppers and some other veggies. Though with all the wait and the addition of calories through Nutella toast, that small portion was able to temporarily fill me up. We've had Peached Tortilla on our list for a long time and were glad to be able to drop by one Sunday for their brunch with no wait at all. Another fusion restaurant, this time targeted at Asian comfort food. Since it was still early, we didn't feel like ordering any of the cocktails or wine. We ordered the Charred Brussels, the JapaJam Burger, and the Taco Trio consisting of Banh Mi, BBQ Brisket, and the Crunchy Fish tacos. Honestly, the food was actually pretty good (definitely worth at least 4 stars) but the issue was that all of them were sooooo oily. Maybe we just got unlucky and got a bad batch. The sprouts were pretty good but we couldn't even finish them because the last 1/3 were soaked in a pool of oil. The burger was pretty good as well, but by the end I had to wipe my mouth after every bite because of the amount of oil that was dripping out. It was hard to even finish the burger and that's so weird for a meat eater like me to say. So yeah, we're not ready to cross them off yet but our experience was pretty average. We didn't have to wait at all so it wasn't too bad I guess. If we had to wait their usual 45 mins to an hour wait time, we would have been pretty annoyed. read more

Even though it was described more as an appetizer, I found it filling enough as a meal. For appetizers, I recommend the charred brussels. The acidity from the lemon oil balances out the bacon jam and parmesan. The taco trio (banh mi, BBQ brisket, and cruchy fish tacos) is an excellent choice following the brussel sprouts. I personally enjoyed the banh mi taco the most because of the braised pork belly. Bland, flavorless "fusion" food. Everything tastes very greasy. A 5% "wellness" fee is automatically charged; why is it the customer's responsibility to take care of the employees? Shouldn't that fall on the business to pay the employees more, rather than offload that cost to the customer, who is already paying a tip? When I arrived, there was a paper sign on the curbside spot stating that sorry, they actually don't do curbside anymore. OK, then fix your system so that you're not confusing customers. We loved many of the options from their brunch menu; the steak and egg was delicious with soft, juicy steak and a tender egg whose runny yolk binded the sour kimchi flavors beautifully. It was a pomegranate and lemon milkshake with pop rocks on the rim, then topped with a round rock donut. I've heard wonderful things about the Peached Tortilla so maybe the hype got to me, but I thought they were just ok. Flavors didn't really quite pop for me the way others have described it, so maybe it was just an off day. First things first - parking is a mess. They have a bit across the street but you might be better off parking on the street and walking - its not too far. Ambiance of the place is pretty hip and waiters are helpful and nice. For the food, I think its one of those cases where whats printed on the menu sounds really good but in execution, it's just not quite there. My wife and I shared the ahi tuna poke bowl, southern fun and the brussel sprouts. The sprouts are interesting - with the bacon jam, especially but think it could have used a little more time in the fryer to crisp them up a bit more. If you happen to get a spoonful of bacon jam, sprout, cheese and lemon, it's pretty great. If you don't you might be wondering what's going on. The southern fun is a fun take on beef flat noodle, with braised brisket. It's a heavy dish from the richness of the brisket but its countered nicely by the spiciness - not sure where that heat came from, but its a a nice warm sensation. That said, it would be nice to be forewarned about it. Ahi poke bowl was nothing special - if anything the fish was a bit mushy and a bit small compared to other poke bowls, though my wife did appreciate the wasabi. There's still other interesting items on their menu I would like to try but at the same time I can't help but wonder if it'll be a case of looks great on paper but not great in practice. It's been awhile where a dining experience was so wonderful that it compelled me to write a review. The Peach Tortilla is such a fun, aesthetically pleasing place to dine in and the food was top notch. I've heard good things for awhile now but finally got the chance to go. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating like any good restaurant in Austin with lots of seating options. I would recommend making a reservation online as it gets crowded at dinner time, even on a weeknight. They have happy hour 5-7pm weekdays and my friend and I got a $5 appetizer. The kimchi aracini balls were a perfectly bite size fried crispy on the outside soft on the inside. It came with two dipping sauces - wasabi and a spicy aioli which both were delicious. The other HH appetizer dishes also looked amazing and can't wait to come back and try them all. They also have a selection of wines and beers for $4-$5 and cocktails for $7. For the main course, I got the popular Dan Dan noodles. If I had to put perfection in a dish, it would be this one. It has an Amazing balance of flavor and spice. It came it with both flat noodles and zucchini noodles shaved on top. Topped with beansprouts and peanuts. The sauce had hints of curry and Szechuan flavors mixed together and had a pretty good kick, but tolerable for me. I will 100% come back for this dish. Lastly my friend and I shared wings which where prob my least favorite thing we got. It was perfectly fine but the chicken perhaps was a bit too over fried and I wish it had more flavor. It is now one of my top burgers in Austin. For a side we got the Parmesan parsley fries with a sriracha/mayo dipping sauce...sinfully delicious! The fries were perfectly crispy and full of flavor. Oh man...I ate here almost 2 weeks ago but it's taken me that much time to really comprehend how amazing the food here was to be able to write a review. I made a reservation for 8:00 on a Saturday night and was even able to get the reservation pushed back to 8:15 when I realized it would take me more than 10 minutes to pick a cute outfit. Date night clothes are harder than picking a comfort colors T-shirt and Nike shorts. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the hostess and immediately ushered to our table. I've been to Peached tortilla a couple times before, but this was the boyfriend's first time. The ambiance is light, airy, and cute--it's casual enough to feel comfortable in, but it's fancy enough to call it a date night. (Would highly recommend for a first date, or any date). We started off with the taco trio, which consists of one fish taco, one banh mi taco, and one brisket taco. THIS. This is what started off our meal on an extremely high note. Each taco was so fresh and soft and warm and juicy and ahhhdkdkssjahshshss I can't recommend this enough. The way the boyfriend was looking at me after he bit into his taco is more loving than any other look he's ever given me, that's how good it was. We also ordered the crispy umami chicken wings, which were also good but nothing too extraordinary; I've definitely had better Korean fried chicken before. The chicken wasn't as flavorful or juicy as I would've wanted it to be. We followed up with one of our two main dishes (the bigger tapas dishes): the pork belly bowl. I've gotten this before and I've never had such crispy and fatty pork belly before; the mix of the kimchi, runny egg, rice, and pork belly all meshed so well together for a flavorful palette. I'm talking like I know what I'm talking about; I'm just saying it was really good. Our last main dish was the southern fun, which I've also had before. Just imagine a Thai style pad see ew but with an American twist on it. It's very filling and a bit spicy too, but overall the flavors really popped. We almost didn't get dessert, and thank god our senses came to and we decided to order the banana Nutella spring rolls. It's definitely a very interesting combination, but it works so well. Who knew spring rolls could be so sweet? Overall, the meal was A+. Just to put it into perspective, the boyfriend always likes to try new things no matter how good our meal is; after this, he wanted every date night to be at Peached tortilla. Although we're going to need to eat from the Wendy's dollar menu for the next few weeks, I definitely can't wait to come back here!
