The first display replacement that they installed on had a blotch on it, and the screen had a blueish tint. The second display that they installed also had a bluish tint. And Apple's True Tone technology would no longer work. They said that they would find a display that worked correctly and call me back for a third try, but they never called me. I had them remove their display, but they would not give me a full refund. I am taking them to small claims court. read more

Untruthful claims! So I stopped by a few days ago to fix my screen. Admittingly, they were nice. But they gave me a quote that was the SAME as what Apple would charge. When I asked why, they said "Our parts are the same as what Apple uses" FALSE. People. PLEASE. Do your research. Google it. You CANNOT get Apple screens outside of Apple. How do I know? I used to work for Apple. Its impossible. Only Apple can give Apple level quality screens. Anything else, no matter how good, is not the same and as good quality. And y'all shouldn't be charged as much. That's why phone repair places are cheaper; their parts are not as good as Apple's legitimate screens. If you want Apple level quality; go to Apple and pay the high cost. Otherwise, phone repair places give you lower quality and SHOULD charge you less. This place doesn't do that. The ONLY way to get apple quality screens is if you take your phone to Apple for them to get it fixed, or if the phone technicians gives you a used screen from an old phone. Either way, it is terrible business practice to charge as much as Apple and lie to the public; only Apple has completely original Apple parts and screens. Scam. The first screen had a blue tint, and they said sorry we can't calibrate color. They tried a second screen which looked better but messed up the touchscreen and I couldn't type accurately. I like to support local independent businesses, but this place can't do what they say they can. And are more than happy to over promise and under deliver. Extremely disappointed and upset these guys damaged my property. I went in to ask if they could fix my Beats Studio 3 headphones which were loose on the left side due to a plastic part of the inside of the headband which was cracked. Moe told me to come back in 30 minutes while they reviewed the issue "to see if they could fix it". I came back 30 minutes later, waited for probably about 15 more minutes and out come my $400 (still have the receipt if you need proof) headphones in worse condition than when I left them - glued, all scratched and completely esthetically destroyed in the left side. Very upsetting. The 'technician' not only glued my headphones without my permission/consulting me what the options were for repair he also glued them to where the left side wasn't able to fold in any longer - how am I supposed to put them back into the case if they don't properly fold?? (They took my headphones to the back again and unglued that part but come on, common sense would say to ensure my headphones still function properly - that is literally your job.) That's not even the worse part - the 'technician' did an extreme hack job. The left side of my Beats are all scratched up and peeling now!! See pictures of the right side (good side) compared to the hack job this guy did on the left side - totally ruined my headphones. I take great pride in taking care of my belongings and this guy destroyed my personal property and all he kept saying was "well I fixed what the problem was". That's like taking your car to a mechanic for repair and the mechanic returns your car to you all keyed up. This guy didn't care at all about taking care of my property which should be his number one priority when dealing with customers and fixing their products. In fact he complained that he'd been "working on it for an hour" - really? Because I walked back in exactly after 30 minutes and 15 minutes later that guy (the 'technician') walked in with a handful of Dunkin Donuts - feel free to roll the tapes on that one. Moe's attempt to rectify the situation was to "not charge me". Of course I shouldn't be charged for that guy damaging my property! After all of this he also stated that they "don't normally repair headphones" and he was doing it basically as a courtesy. What?! If you don't do the repairs I'm inquiring about then say that from the beginning! Not after my headphones are ruined! Also, he blamed the 'tool' the guy used to take apart my headphones for causing all the scratches - as someone who works in product development, have you ever heard of masking to minimize damage when working in p? Clearly these guy did not care that they damaged my property and I was so frustrated I needed to leave. Instead of taking it upon themselves and making the decision to attempt to "fix" my headphones after "seeing if they could fix it" I would have rather 1. Been consulted on options for repair or 2. Been told they wouldn't be able to repair. Again to reiterate, even if I had been consulted and we decided to move forward with "repairing" I simply do not understand how these guys could think it's acceptable to return a customer's goods in worse condition than when they were dropped off. I look forward to hearing back on a solution/options to ACTUALLY rectify this situation. 1/22/20 UPDATE - the left head phone on my Beats have now fully broken and my headphones do not work. I went to put them on as I always do and the glue the guy tried to fix my headphones with broke causing the wire to break and my headphones don't turn on now. It is absurd that it has been almost 3 weeks and nobody has contacted me to resolve this issue. I officially have broken headphones that even if I wanted to take to Apple they wouldn't take for repair now because these guys have clearly and visibly damaged my headphones. I went here to change my battery, they put a damaged battery which will last for 4 hours with minimal phone usage. I went to get it changed again, this time I got my phone back with a new (not-genuine looking) screen! Why would my iPhone screen be replaced? Did they take my previous one? Called for answers, the store claims they did not change the screen. The resolution and color saturation, as well as the known fake green-ish hue white-point on my phone claims differently. Giving you guys another chance to let me know what happened and I'll post it here if I stand corrected regarding your service. *Update* The following day (and after the owner's comment below saying they did not change my screen) I went to the shop, and the technician said they put my old screen back. And so admiring that they actually DID replace my screen. The owner apologized and said it was a mistake, which I appreciate, mistakes happen. Completely rude and disrespectful people here. And Liers! I brought in my son's iPad to get a new screen after the one I replaced the original with stopped working (original one broke on vacation and I needed an emergency repair). I had stopped at Mikey's Hook up first to talk about an official apple screen and realized it was not cost effective so figured I'd try this place. I told the guy that the screen had already been replaced once, was not working well and asked if he had a better one. I specifically asked him if the fingerprint feature would work on the news one as the replacement one I had wasn't working with that feature. He said yes so I agreed for $150. When I picked up the guy there (different guy) said the fingerprint didn't work because the home button had already been replaced. I don't know what that means exactly but I pointed out to him I specifically told the guy the prior day the screen had been replaced and asked about the fingerprint feature noting that had i known it would not work I would have just bought a new iPad and given up. The guy proceeded to be really rude to us and claimed they didn't know it had been replaced and I should have done a diagnostic. I was quite taken aback but didn't back down that I had specifically asked about this and wouldn't have bothered had I known and that the should have called me when they noticed to tell me and I could have weighed my options. He then said he would put the old cracked screen back and charge me $70 for a diagnostic instead which is absurd on many levels. It got ugly from there as he was just rider so I left after telling him he was a piece of #^*+. He then called me to tell me his co worker never talked to me about this. What a freaking liar!! Stay away... stay away... I used their service to repair my I phone 8Plus cracked(front & back) glass. Not only did they quote me $240 while comparable services by others quoted $180-$190, but also the services were shoddy and not professional at all. The front LCD replacement was missing a black plate which leads to damaging the screen on every minor fall. Despite being charged $130 for the back glass replacement, back casing for the phone was never changed leading to proportional gap between LCD and the back plate. The worst part the camera on the phone was never fixed and I was told, I need a new camera. My repeated attempts with the owner led to a falsified promise that they will replace the camera for free. Nothing came out of that. Quite dismayed, I used another service and was charged additional $60 for missing a connector to the camera. Ended up spending $300 for a $180 service and still the job done was pathetic and unprofessional. I will recommend to stay away from their service! read more

Told me they'd have a replacement part for me by a certain day, 6/30. I asked again while at the store for reassurance and they said yes. The date rolls around, no part. I call that day, they say it'll be in the next day or that night. That was Wednesday (making Thursday the next day). I call Friday, they say they'll call me back in a couple hours to track the package. THEY NEVER CALL BACK. I smell something fishy so email the store asking for a refund a week later. Magically they start calling me. We play phone tag, I leave messages. When I am able to get through (now Saturday a week and a half later), they say to call the following day for the guy that handles the refunds. He'll be there all day. I call, and a man who sounds exactly the same as the guy from the day before saying the "normal Sunday guy" is not in. I call a "manager's" number that I see on Google Reviews and text. He doesn't work there anymore. In short, I believe all the messed up stories about stolen batteries, shenanigans, unprofessionalism etc. I'm still coming for my refund but at this point I'm giving this a fair warning. Once I got my phone back, the colour of the screen appeared differently & the man assured me this was normal when you get a screen replacement. A few weeks later the phone started opening apps and typing in the keyboard without me even touching the phone. With a screen protector on, the phone was dropped and the screen cracked again right away and it went black. She went there to get the new screen and at the end of it they charged her a higher amount and lied straight to her face saying this was the list price. I've been here a few times because they are the most convenient store in Williamsburg. I would not go back because their repairs are not very good because their replacement parts are not high quality. For example, every time I've had my screen replaced here, the replacement has dead pixels or dark spots. Also, their batteries do not last as long as the OEM batteries. If you get your iPhone fixed here, Apple will no longer touch your phone. That means that you will never be able to go back to Apple. It's not even like this store has better prices. Prices are generally similar to Apple. I will note that this store is more convenient because you can just stop in on a moment's notice, with no need for advance appointment. read more

The fact is your establishment in Williamsburg is highly questionable and very unprofessional, here's why: Let's think about this for a sec, my phone was dead when I brought it to your Williamsburg location, but before it died the battery life was at one percent and the screen was fine. The image of the battery needing charge was displayed and the pixels were not distorted. My bf and I walked in and explained the situation and we were told to have a seat for approx 20 mins so tech can take a look at the phone "free of charge". 10-15 mins go by, all of a sudden your tech brings the phone back to life with almost 50% battery within 10-15 minutes. That's impossible unless the shady room in the back with the double sided glass window has magical powers? We strongly believe your tech(s) were very dishonest and you're delusional if you believe otherwise. This place is amazing all around. Great products and great service. I came into the shop in a panic because my laptop battery broke. I read online that I could simply take out the battery for a bit and that could do that trick to reboot it. Problem was, i didn't have a tiny screwdriver to get the job done. I found this place, knowing they would have one that I could borrow. Within 10 minutes, they unscrewed my laptop battery, put it back in and voila! The staff is so nice! This last visit has been the one I care to YELP about. Roman was my dude and he made the magic happen. I left my iPhone out side, in the rain, and came to seek their services the following afternoon. Roman was honest about my chances of recovery and gave me an honest consult. By the end of our conversation he gave a big finger to the smart phone gods and said, " not today!". Very nice people, but that's pretty much all the good I can say about my experience with them. My iPhone's battery had very short autonomy so I decided to spend the advertised 10 minute wait for a battery replacement. They advised to do a free check up to see if the problem is actually the battery and told me they needed an hour. So I basically went around the neighborhood for an hour, and when I was back they told me it was actually the battery. 5 min replacement, $40+tax and they gave me the phone that was 56% already on the new battery. In the turn of about half hour, that 56% was gone and my phone dead. The new battery performed way worse than the original one. I called them and they told me to come back. The day after, today, I go to Williamsburg again and they need another hour to figure out what's up with the phone. On my way back they say the problem wasn't the battery. Now, forgive me if I'm wrong: if the problem wasn't the battery, what the hell was that previous diagnosis for? You wasted one hour of my life to come to a wrong conclusion, and the least you could've done to right the wrong would be to refund me the money I paid to replace a battery that didn't need replacement. Instead I just received a "sorry" and I guess that should be enough to feel better if I just wasted my time and $43 for making my phone work worse than before. read more

When I came back to ask them to look at it again they told me there was nothing they could do. This all came with an attitude too. This place orders the cheapest parts available (I get it, its a business, they need to make a profit but still... the. cheapest.) which will fail quickly when combined w the higher quality of Apple product parts. One example -- new screen they used to replace cracked one wouldn't register that my fingers were touching it. Yesterday was bittersweet, as I migrated from an Android to iPhone. I start work at 10 am and wanted to have my sim transferred beforehand. I gave these guys a call at about 9:45 am, told them I needed to get my micro-sim cut into a nano-sim. I ran over there assuming I'd be about half hour late to work, no biggie. I've been in this store twice now about iphone 6 screen repair. First time: the guy tells me it's $150 plus tax. I tell him that was more than I was expecting it to cost so price is lowered to $130 including tax. I said I would come back later in the week. Later in the week: it's a different guy there, and he tells me it's $160 plus tax to repair. And that's the standard price. Their prices are more expensive than going to Apple store, so I recommend avoiding this store. I ended up getting it repaired at King Digital Wireless in Chinatown for $100 inclusive of tax. Apple Berry charges $79 to get an older ipone screen fixed. They want you to pay $100 dollars. The freaking iphone 6+ right now is being fixed for $130 how does that compare. Ughhh I'm so annoyed.
