We ventured out to a different Pickled Onion since we really enjoy the one off of Capital Blvd. The atmosphere was low key and more chill. Several people were dining alone and seemed to be regulars. We ordered Fish Tacos and onion rings. I prefer the fish tacos at the other location and the onion rings were all clumped together making it hard to share them since they were all stuck together. Also the seating is mostly high tops with only a couple tables offered low top option. Some patrons were playing on gambling machines too. Overall it was ok but I much prefer the upbeat vibe of the other as well as the booth option too.

I ordered the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls. I know the difference between well-done and burnt. These were burnt and terrible. The only reason I did not return them is my job site was too far away very disappointed. I usually get much better food from the pickled onion. Everybody has a bad day but wow

First time will say wait time was a tad bit long, beer wasn't filled all the way up. Wings were huge but overall good asl. Waiter trauma dumped us but aye can't complain. Overall food was a solid 8/10.

Atmosphere: bar environment, clean, friendly Appetizer: Crack Fire Entrees: Philly Melt, Brisket Platter, Wings Service: attentive My husband came for lunch a few weeks ago and left his card here. They held on to it for a few days and to his surprise he didn't have any unapproved charges appear so he was able to keep the same card. Must be a few good people left in the world and they happened to work here. I hadn't been here before so we decided to pop in for a quick dinner. Overall, I'd recommend you give it a try as well if you like bar food and car atmospheres. Very good service and the food was flavorful. I ordered the brisket plate with the BBQ sauce on the side. The macaroni and cheese had good flavor but was a little dry for my preference, not bad though, I still ate more than half. Brocolli was cooked exactly how I like it with a nice crunch to it. My son had the wings and said they were very good. Waitress also mentioned that they won an award for their wings too. Husband had the Philly cheese steak and had no complaints.

The pickled onion is a spacious restaurant with a bar and multiple TVs. There were multiple people dining at the restaurant during the week. I sat at the bar and ordered my food. The bartender was nice and became more talkative after I sat there for a while. I got an order of shrimp and fries. My food was brought to me quickly. The fries needed to be cooked longer and needed some salt. The shrimp was flavorful and tasted good.

The newest Pickled Onion pub located at Forestville crossing shopping center. We were lucky to be invited to the soft opening and the place is shiny new and the servers were fantastic! They work as a team so we were well taken care of! Special shout out to Nicole who was awesome! I ordered a Ninja turtle cocktail, made with Malibu rum, pineapple and lime. Was so good! Started with the lobster queso dip which comes with fresh tortilla chips. We loved it. Next I had a Caesar salad, bud shrimp tacos. They were supposed to be spicy but I didn't notice much spice with cilantro lime slaw. They sure don't skimp on the shrimp! Hubby enjoyed his meatball parm and fried pickle chips. The pub has loads of TVs but thankfully there was music playing. We would definitely come back when in the area.

I am so pleased that this location finally opened! I went in knowing that it would take a while to be seated and eat so I don't feel like the service was slow. They're brand new and the place was slammed! The food was great - I can always count on the Pickled Onion to cook my burgers perfectly! I don't have burgers often but when I do, it's important to me to have them not be overcooked. Service was great! The servers there work as a team and it is a good system. All of the staff had a very friendly and positive attitude. We have been back 2 more times after this visit and it's been great every time!

I never been to pickled onion so I had to try it. It the beginning its kind of confusing because it seems like its closed from the outside!. Once we were in I liked the place, it was clean, cool and had 2 bars and several tvs, BUT there were only 2 employees working the entire FOH so it seems like the bartender had some mind of attitude which I really don't blame her because its a lot of work for only the employees. The food was delicious a hangover burger and spicy Mac&cheese, 2 beers and a soda, 54$ kind of price but ok. This place have so much potencial but its sad that the owners don't put enough staff to run the place properly and thats the exact reason why The Ale House on glenwood av. Had to close down, it was a great location but they got greedy and started to short staff and give crappy service

Tried the Fajita Quesadilla. A beautiful and well stuffed quesadilla is grilled then quartered for the plate. Served with rice and shredded lettuce, guac, pico and sour cream. The portion is big, it's served piping hot within minutes. Margaritas are cold and well mixed - not too strong, not too weak. Shout out to Luis, who took care of us. He is super-attentive, charming, funny and pleasant and does a great job. As an example - we split our entree... and without being asked he brought an extra plate. This might not seem like a big deal, but somehow this nearly never happens unless we ask. Great work, Luis - thank you! This may well turn out to be our go-to Mexican spot in town. GO!

After running errands, we drove just six minutes to El Chapin, a Guatemalan restaurant. Forget Tex-Mex--this is a completely different Latin cuisine experience. The two of us spent $76 (including tax and tip), but we intentionally ordered extra to take home leftovers. Parking was easy, right out front, and the restaurant itself is spacious. Since we arrived just a few minutes after opening, we had the place to ourselves at first and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and very helpful--the server even suggested we might have ordered too much food (he was right, but we didn't mind!). Here's what we tried: Plato Chorizo y Longaniza - a sausage platter with salad, rice, refried black beans, and two delicious housemade corn tortillas. Pollo Adobado - marinated chicken with rice, salad, refried black beans and two housemade corn tortillas . Ceviche de Camarón - fresh and tangy, though light on shrimp, which tasted a bit tough Fried Plantains - perfectly done, sweet, and satisfying. Plus, I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. The highlights for me were the flavorful rice (with vegetables mixed in, including carrots and squash), the marinated chicken, and the sausages. The plantains were also excellent. The ceviche had great flavor but could've used more shrimp. The only miss for me was the salad--generous in portion but iceberg-based, so a bit bland. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, not heavy or greasy, and we left with enough for another one or two meals. We'll definitely be back.
