A very good place to eat. Had some delay but the flatbreads were very well made and the crab roll was good as well. Not a drinker but heard their selection was good, too. We stayed in the rental across the street and the crew was kind enough to let us have some of their leftover cardboard as a fire starter. The Pickled Wrinkle is a favorite out here. Their ambiance, their menu, it's all really fun! My partner and I stayed in Milbridge for a few days with our good friends who have a house there and it was a must try; she'd been raving about the Blueberry cosmos nonstop. So of course, I tried the very tasty Blueberry cosmos, made with fresh Maine blueberries. What I especially loved though was the veggie burger. Veggie burgers are pretty standard everywhere you go. I've never had one that's blown me away at a restaurant, although at home some of the plant based ones are really good. This vegan black bean burger, however, was so tasty. Probably one of the best ones I've ever had dining out. I think it was the dill in particular. You can use the patty on any one of their regular burger choices, and chose the Wonsqueak, with cheddar cheese, crispy fried pickles and house aioli. Those fried pickles in this combination were hearty and satisfying. Everyone liked their food and we had a nice, long leisurely, super "vacationy" lunch. read more

What the heck is a Pickled Wrinkle? Well you'll have to look that one up for yourself. What I can tell you is the staff is super friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend the lobster roll. Of those I had in the area, this was the best. If you're into fried clams they have those too and they're also very good. Don't be afraid to try the house made chips. Good and way better than something out of a bag. Sure it may be a little out of the way but it is worth looking for. read more

So the food was great BUT the waitress completely messed up my wife's GLUTEN FREE order. My wife asked 3 times about the pizza she was served and was told the first two times that "yes, it's gluten free." The third time, after I tasted it, the waitress admitted her mistake - great. It was carry out only when we visited. There are covered picnic tables. They also have heaters but when the wind blows they aren't much help. Ordering and receiving your order is a bit confusing. We had several parties. You order at one window and pick up at another or they deliver to you. It was different for each party in our group. Although we all ordered within minutes of each other, we ended up waiting a very long time for ours. In fact, everyone else was basically finished and heading next door for some very good ice cream. The steak and cheese pizza was tasty but it had these very large chunks of steak. It was the same with the steak sub. Not necessarily a bad thing just not what we expected. The chicken salad was pretty good as far as salad goes. The greens were fresh with plenty of blue cheese crumbles but the chicken was on the dry side. Good selection of beer. We went here Sunday afternoon looking for a tasty family lunch after a great hike. The ambiance was not family oriented. It was more of a bar environment with loud, large groups drinking and being obnoxious. The food was good but the ambiance was a really negative aspect and when we left we were crabby and irritated. Came here on the first day of vacation. Tried to order a cider but unfortunately forgot my ID. Didn't think this would be an issue as I'm 27 and was with family, but I wasn't able to get a beverage after a ten hour drive. I ordered the buffalo fried shrimp and fries. The buffalo sauce was fantastic and the food was plentiful. There was definitely a long wait though, and the shrimp with sauce was thrown on this of the fries. Would've preferred a separation. We also tried to get an order of wrinkles, their staple, but they were out. I would recommend the Pickled Wrinkle but I'd suggest ordering something very conventional. Crab flatbread didn't have a LOT of crab on it (would have wanted more...) but it tasted fresh and had that good crab bite to it. Had the Ribeye steak burger which was also good! Waitress attentive and food came out relatively quickly. Didn't realize they sold Fiddleheads so as we were about to get the bill I asked for them to go and the cooks were very quick about it-- I ate them on the way home they smelled so good and their balsamic reduction was perfectly done! Hard to get a good reduction sometimes while eating out because it takes time and patience but they did it! Unfortunately didn't try the pickled wrinkles as my fiancé was a little offput by the pictures we googled but I would try them. read more

We ordered the clams, seafood chowder and lobster roll, for two of us to split. They also have a full bar and Guinness on tap! The food is super delicious and more than enough for us to share. Stopped in for dinner after a long day visiting Acadia park and driving around the local area. Settled into the dining area and must have been at the start of the evening rush. Band was setting up and there was a buzz in the air. Wish we could have stayed in for the band, but the dinner was wonderful and we had to get moving. Clam dinner with coleslaw and mashed potatoes was spot on. The batter was light and didn't overpower the seafood. And onion rings were thin sliced and lightly battered. Everything arrived at the table steaming hot (mushrooms too), we were so stuffed we had to take dessert on the road, apple crisp and raspberry bread pudding we're phenomenal! What a great spot! I sure hope to return on another visit down the road, the T-Shirts rock too, my only regret was that there were no wrinkles to be had-maybe next time! read more

Despite being the only thing open while we were visiting from New Jersey, we were pleasantly surprised! We had fried clams, calamari and a grilled chicken burger. This place was packed every night we drove by leaving Acadia. We stopped in and we were told it would be a long wait. We sat outside for 45 minutes in the evening and became dinner for the millions of mosquitoes. Our waitress asked how we were doing and we told her we were getting eaten alive by the bugs. she just shrugged her shoulders and left. We got two orders of the fried shrimp with French fries. The shrimp was overly battered and flavorless. The beer was $7.50 a glass. We Walked out spending way too much for food that was nothing special and made a vow to never come back. read more

4 in our party - We found the owner Deb? to be arrogant and rude. While waiting for a table, we attempted to order a drink from the bar. The owner chased us down and kicked us out of the restaurant. When we inquired about why the people behind us were allowed in the bar, she explained they had a seat. Oh yes, they did! They, also, took a baby carriage in the bar. We explained that I had a seat, and she did not like that we questioned her. She then proceeded to seat others who were waiting and said, "I don't think you will be happy here. I am the owner and there are a lot of people who want to eat here." Since we were really hungry, we visited McDonald's in Ellsworth. They were really great. In fact, every restaurant we visited (expensive or not) in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine was welcoming, except this one. I would suggest moving on down the road! read more

Came here with a friend who owns a Summer home a couple miles away. It's a place that his family takes anyone visiting. I'm sure glad that he did! Stopped in on a Friday evening and they had live music. I'm a soft talker so being seated so close to the Entertainment was sometimes challenging to have conversation but that would happen anywhere. The musician was pretty good! I had the Maine crabmeat roll and it was plentiful. The toasted "Texas toast" style bun is exactly how a seafood roll should be served. Very tasty! They have an excellent selection of local beers and ciders on tap, a great food menu and the vibes are just right. The staff has always been wonderful and very attentive.
