One of the better food trucks in Louisville. Big fan of the burritos and the sides. A real mish…read moremash of flavors, all wrapped in a tortilla. It's heaven. I got the Cajun burrito and it was fantastic. A real big, hearty meal that was also delicious. As well, the sides were outstanding. The grits were tangy, and the street corn was creamy with a zest. My only complaint about the corn is that I wish they could mix the seasoning in throughout the dish rather than on top of the dish. Here are my negative takes... A little expensive, as food trucks tend to be. I don't know why this is, but it is. And it's annoying. This truck doesn't give you any container to carry your food in. I got a bowl of corn with no lid and a burrito wrapped in foil. I had to carry both in my hands, no bag and no container. The burrito was very warm and I had to carry it up to my office, and the corn is just out in the open. A little weird. At least give a big or a styrofoam container. But I'll be back. Very delicious good. I'll bring my own bag next time.

We have a new food truck that just hit the streets(as far as I know)…read more They have a simple menu and it works! Three breakfast burritos(What's that you say? Breakfast burritos at the Flea!!). The sides are Challah French Toast sticks or Grits. Disclaimer: I ordered too much food on this day and I'll know exactly what to order the next time. I couldn't resist! To begin... I ordered the Maple Breakfast burrito. This burrito comes with fresh eggs, maple sausage, cheese, and maple bacon aioli. It was on the messier side than I'm used to but what do they always say... being messy means it's good. This burrito was also 7 dollars. It was on the smaller side for a burrito(In comparison to our loves-New Wave, Bandido, The Ville) but honestly, I think it's the perfect size for a food truck burrito. When I'm at the Flea or whether I'm stopping at the Flea to eat before I head elsewhere... I don't want to be so full that I'm about to explode. On to the Challah French Toast with maple dipping syrup. I saw these on the menu and couldn't pass them up. They were delicious! I had half of them before tearing into my burrito and the other half when I finished my burrito. The fresher these are, the better. When eating here in the future, I'll likely either order just a burrito or just the Challah French Toast but never both. It did take a little longer to get my food but it was nothing unreasonable. They make everything fresh so that's a plus! They're still new but it won't take long for the word to get out. I think that they'll end up hiring one more person for their operation. Copper Kitchen slinging breakfast burritos in the food truck space? They'll definitely turn into a serious contender for your food choices when food trucks are around.

This food truck visited our neighborhood tonight, and we ordered way too much food. I have a bad…read morehabit with food trucks because I am not sure I'll get to enjoy them any time soon. I appreciated they sent out a snapshot of their menu early on. I got a strawberry french toast crepe. It was thick, closer to pancake consistency with syrup soaked in and fresh strawberries on top. I was expecting something lighter but this was very filling. I also got a breakfast crepe with bacon. It was stuffed with eggs, cheese and fresh spinach. The bacon was crumbled and they gave us a ton of it. Depending on your hunger level you might split them into two meals or share. Along with a bottled water I got a Dole pineapple whip. Pineapple juice, bits of pineapple and vanilla sorbet. Really good, not overly sweet because the gelato calms it down but it warmed up about midway through and needed ice or to be chilled. Drink fast! Overall I highly recommend a savory crepe. Huge, filling and not heavily breaded as compared to my strawberry crepe.

I'm the furthest thing from an expert on crepes so I'm not 100% sure how long it takes to cook a crepe, plus we got 4 crepes, so maybe that's why? Either way, it was well worth the wait! The crepes were AWESOME! The savory crepes were delicious, but of course, I thought the sweet crepe we had (strawberry french toast crepe) was outstanding! I will definitely hit up this food truck if I ever get the chance to!

***THE BEST CHICAGO DEEP DISH PIZZA IN KENTUCKY/INDIANA/OHIO***…read more I'm a deep dish expert, I've eaten at every one of the big restaurants in Chicago. Let me tell you... This pie absolutely knocked my socks off, and I cannot believe it's located in a "hole-in-the wall" building in Simpsonville KY. Holy smokes, I'd eat this pie if it was served in a porta-potty! Service was great and I took the pizza home to try it. The sauce was insane! I just can't get over this pie.

This place has been hyped up quite a bit for being "true" Chicago Tavern thin style. Is this true?…read moreI'd say that's a big fat "sorta." It's thin crust, alright. You can also tell the crust is dry aged which gives it that stale cracker flavor around the edges. The problem is the crust itself isn't crispy except around the outside inch of the pizza, at most. We got the 14" pizza and the outer corner pieces were crispy, but the normal edge pieces weren't crispy at all on the inside edges. I would call the texture firm, but no crisp at all. The inner pieces were 100% floppy. The other problem I had was with the toppings. The pepperoni didn't have a lot of flavor, and there were way too many onions. The diced pieces were all clumped together like they didn't bother to separate out the pieces after dicing them, or maybe the knife didn't cut all the way through which caused them to not be able to separate. Regardless of all of that, I would have preferred a finer dice and fewer onions. Other than the pepperoni, the other toppings weren't distributed evenly at all. There were numerous pieces that were covered in onions to the point where that was all you could taste. The cheese was good, but we emphasized wanting the pizza well done, and even mentioned liking the cheese partially browned, which I feel is kinda how Tavern Thin should always be. It wasn't browned up at all, but even if it had come out well done, I don't think it would have made the pizza any more crispy. I think their cooking method needs more adjusting than just adding more time to fix the lack of crisp. Unfortunately I was really hoping for something better, so I don't think I will be making the trek out to Simpsonville (from Louisville) to have another go. But those meatballs!!! The meatballs are f'ing delicious. Probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant, and I am very, very picky about meatballs. I'd recommend the spaghetti and meatballs over the pizza, bar none.
