We do love our neighborhood pizza joint! LaPorta's Pizzeria has been our favorite take home salad and pizza place for years. Their chef salad is a staple even if it's all we order. Yes, it's iceberg lettuce, but the salad is built in the container with layers of lettuce, celery, chickpeas, purple cabbage, black olives, seasoning and cut up tomatoes on top. It's like a little salad party in a box. The fam likes their personal pan pizzas, or just a regular pizza. Very disappointing! Ordered antipasto salad and 2 slices of pizza to go. Salad was a container of lettuce and very minimal toppings. Only 1/2 slices of 2 cheeses meat 1/2 slice of 2 different meats with a-slight sprinkle of parm cheese. Very little micro chopped tomatoes. Pizza was very stale but reheated. Food and restaurant conditions are terrible. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. The staff were friendly and accommodating but the food was awful. Pizza is comparable to store bought frozen pizza in my opinion. Lacks fresh premium ingredients that one would expect from a Buffalo pizzeria. There are plenty of other options in the immediate area that are miles better than this spot in my opinion. I really wanted to give them a fair shot but it's a strong miss for me. As for the "dinning room"; it's in an unacceptable state. I would not eat here as it is extremely dated, dirty and poorly lit. I sat to wait for my pizza and noticed that the chair and table is coated with a certain dirt build up. Not a good look. I also had the time to notice that the windows are filthy looking like they haven't been cleaned in years. When my family came to Buffalo we wanted to try a local pizza place. Boy what a mistake we made trying this place. First off when I ordered the time said 35 to 50 minutes then once the order was placed the time went to over an hour. I requested utensils and plates, none of which was included. When the delivery driver finally showed up he advised that he was unsure how I was going to carry the drinks since the lemonade spilled since it was a 20oz. He advised they don't carry those. I went back to the site and sure enough there is the 20oz lemonade listed. So for almost $3 I got a half glass of lemonade. All of this could have been saved by this pizza since we were all just starving from our long trip. Little did we know that would be the worst part of the experience. The breadstick things were so cold I'm sure they were from a day ago. The pizza wasn't as cold but I have had better pizza in a hospital parking lot. This disaster cost nearly $60!!!!!!!!!! I finally had enough and complained on the app I bought the pizza through and they gave me back less than 10% of the total. I stated that was nice but it didn't even cover the McDonald's I had to buy since the food was inedible. So $90 later I can say that both this pizza place and McDonald's suck but at least the McDonald's was hot. read more

When this place first opened, there was no bathroom. So everyone used the Mexican Porta Potty that was outside, known colloquially as "La Porta Potty". The name stuck, and even though the porta potty is long since gone, and they actually have a real bathroom now, it will forever be named after that cute little outhouse that helped this place make its name. What to get: Specialty Slices - veggie or Buffalo Chicken. So I tried La Porta's. I ate the food. I nommed the cheese and pep slice. It was good. It was CHEESY AS HELL, it was actually a bit reminiscent of Bozanna's which broke my heart recently when it closed down, on Main St between Clarence and W-ville. But it's not really as good as that and so I will probably going to give it a 4/5 based on that. They I tried their veggie slice and my word, it was totally different. Not too cheesy, fresh and delicious... totally different from their saturated, over the top cheese and pep slice. It was still fairly cheesy though. So between the two I would definitely get the veggie again although I am sure I will try others. I would give this place a 5 for the veggie slice, but with reservations, because I will have to try it a couple more times to see exactly how much I like it, and maybe give a couple of the other slices a go. But there's a real absence of great pizza in this part of town, so this one stands out like a beacon in the night. I'll give it a 4 for now and then try it again and see where it stands. This is another restaurant claiming they serve chicken fingers . With the increase in prices all restaurants are buying the cheapest chicken fingers they can find but yet charging you 4x's more . After being in the house for over 1 month and being highly cautious as to eating anywhere but from a grocery store pickup, we decided to order LaPorta's pizza, wings and chick fingers. My teenagers were thrilled to eat food that didn't come out of a freezer package. I called ahead of time to make sure they'd bring the food out to our car trunk. And sure enough we popped our trunk and out came a man carrying our food with a mask & gloves on. Food was delicious and they wrote "Thank You" on a box. A friend recommend this place for a calzone. I ordered over the phone for pick up. I got there about 6 minutes early and it was still in the oven. Which I was happy about because that means it wasn't sitting out in a box getting cold and soggy. The calzone was fresh, hot, and enormous. I walked out excited to get home to eat it. Very disappointing, I could not believe the staff thought it was appropriate to give a half burned pizza to a patron. With the lack of delivery options in Williamsville/Getzville, I gave LaPorta's a shot. I used to love the chicken finger subs here when I was a kid. And I must say, the chicken finger sub was still decent. It was a solid 3.5 stars. Good flavor and sauces-to-toppings ratio. Additionally, the char-bbq wings were quite tasty. I would say the chicken items the best thing here. The pizza looked amazing, but somehow lacked any real flavor. It wasn't gross, just completely forgettable... I would not order it again. I used go to LaPorta's a lot when I was younger for a good-but-not-great neighborhood pizza. Recently, I've been consistently disappointed. Over the last 3 or 4 months I've ordered 5 or 6 times for pickup and they've been late every time. Two of those times were 30 minutes late or more. One time I ordered a large lunch order for my co-workers, I arrived 10 minutes after my pickup time and they hadn't even started the order... so that was very embarrassing for me. Foolishly I tried once more just because it's close to where I live, and today got one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. WAY over cooked, smashed in on one side, and 30 minutes late! And when I initially asked for my order, I was rudely told "you got a few minutes" and I realized then that it was obviously not even started. So anyway, they are disorganized, awkward, sloppy, and very inconsistent. Second star only for sentimentality's sake, but I won't be going again. read more

I've lived less than a mile from LaPorta's for nearly four years, and I've been a devoted and satisfied customer the entire time. Couldn't get enough of their personal chicken finger pizza! On Saturday, 4/14, I called and placed and order for a party tray and 50 wings at 4:10pm, and was told it would be ready for pickup in one hour. Great. I had 13 hungry people to feed, as we had company over. Sent my husband over an hour later and he was told they never even started the order. I called and spoke to the owner, who made excuses claiming no one should have told me that time frame. I'm not sure how the time frame was wrong, or why it was my problem or fault. I was not happy, but again, I had 13 guests to feed and told the owner I'd like it if he'd just make the order right away and deliver it, to which he agreed. An hour and fifteen minutes later, still no food. I called and was told our order was on the way and should be there "any minute now". Another 15 minutes went by before the delivery man arrived. Again, I'm less than a mile away from the pizzeria. 2.5 hours for my pizza and the only curtesy they showed me was to take off the measly delivery charge. The pizza was supposed to be half pepperoni, but they really only took a handful and sprinkled it on about 1/3 of the pizza. It was in an interesting design, almost as if someone was trying to either spell something out, or tick me off more. I won't make assumptions, but I was less than pleased. I'm so disappointed in the lack of professionalism and terrible customer service, that I will now seek out a replacement go-to pizzeria. I had three couples over that live in Williamsville, and each one made the remark that they would make it a point to never order from LaPorta's. Mistakes happen, we're only human. An apology and prompt delivery would've gone a long way. Instead I was made to wait longer, heard excuses, and was made to feel like my business didn't matter. I've worked in food service for more than 1/2 of my life, and it still rings true- it's cheaper and easier to keep an existing customer than it is to get a new one. I'd suggest that the owner of LaPorta's learn some customer service and general manners. I'll be sure to share my thoughts and experience with this pizzeria with everyone I know. read more
