went during oc restaurant week and got the build your own pizza w 2 sangrias and a cookie pie. appreciated the option for vegan cheese and loved the large selection of nonmeat toppings!! the pizza building process went smoothly and our sangria was served as we were eating. it had a bunch of chopped fruit bits in it and was very refreshing the establishment and bathroom were both very clean, and there was plenty of seating. loved the newspaper theme for the naming of things. and the tv inside was playing kiki's delivery service!! there is free street parking around the perimeter, which i appreciate bc the parking garages can get expensive. check this place out! read more

They reminded of the cheapest frozen chicken wings you can find. Then, they forget our order of fries, twice also frozen. I don't understand why they can't invest in fresh fries. They're so cheap to make. There were many tables that were left completely filthy and not cleaned after the patrons left. Pizza was mediocre. I saw the ad at the Frida Cinema about this place. So I decided to pay a visit after the show. It's a nice short walk from the Frida Cinema. The service staffs were friendly, and the service was efficient. You get in line, go through your selection Then the pizza is built as you move thru the line, and then it gets fed into the conveyor oven and gets baked. You pay, sit down and the staff brought out your pizza. The place is decorated like a printing press and the pizza is "hot off the press" literally. There are 2 large screens with one showing soccer matches and the other showing Studio Ghibli anime, which is a nice touch. As for the pizza itself, the thin crust has that nice crisp. The sauce and cheese, however, were somewhat average and lack flavor. Overall, it's a decent pizza joint, but nothing to wow about. read more

If you are hosting a party, Pizza Press should be at the top of your list! At the suggestion of a friend, I called Mimi on a Wednesday desperate for a place to host my husband's surprise 40th birthday party. Everything was planned for an outdoor picnic in a park but the weather was not going to cooperate. I was frantic but Mimi calmed me down and told me she'd absolutely love to host the party at her restaurant. On Friday morning, I met with Mimi and went over our order. She perfectly estimated our food needs for guests. In addition, I was able to order 3 specialty pizzas for guests with specific dietary needs. She had options available to accommodate everyone. I was supposed to set up before the party but due to the change of plans, it wasn't possible. Mimi told me not to worry and that she and her team would set up for me. I brought the decorations with me on Friday morning and told her what I had in mind. She and her team set up the night before the party and executed it above and beyond my expectations. When my husband walked in, Mimi had borrowed one of my friend's phones and was filming the surprise for us. Soon after the greeting, the food came flowing out. She had appetizers of tasty tots and wings ready to go for our hungry guests. Then the salad and pizzas started to arrive. She had a steady stream of hot and fresh pizzas from the ovens every 5-10 minutes. Guests who arrived later were welcomed with nice hot pizza. Everyone absolutely raved about the awesome food and great selection of beer on tap. The crust of the pizza is insanely simple yet tasty. And you can tell the ingredients are fresh and come from great suppliers. The customization is awesome but the pre-set pizzas are fantastic as well. We had so much fun at the Pizza Press and were seriously impressed by the hospitality and professionalism of Mimi and her team. I loved this pizza press place, I came in for dinner with my boys and sister. This was my first time coming to this location I usually go to the one in old town Orange. However this one was closer to home. It was a great experience from the beginning and to end. When we first got there we got greeted by the nice young employees. They took our order down and within 20 minutes we were enjoying our pizza and of course we had to have our beer. They have a couple selections which was pretty awesome. They sell wings too and pizookie as well which was my favorite it was delightful not too sweet the wings were ok I've had better. If you have young kids they will love this place they have board games for the kids or even adults. Walked in on a slow Tuesday, ordered a pizza and a pitcher of beer. My observations: lazy, poorly-trained employees. 3 broken tables that limited where you could sit. The bathroom was disgusting. The gym who brought us the pizza dropped the pizza box on our table, leaving us to w onder where the plates, utensils, crushed pepper, etc. was. All in all. I was craving pizza while in Santa Ana and figured I would stop at pizza press cause they never had disappointed me. I was surely wrong. My pizza was too saucy, my cheese tasted funky. I ended up throwing away my pizza. The service was horrible the lady there was so rude had me waiting there just for her to get started on my pizza. Thin crust is the only way I eat pizza and theirs is quite thin and tasty enough. But what I do love about them is that have both fresh ANDroasted garlic and ricotta cheese. Not all these types of build-your-own pizza chains carries the same toppings and those make such a difference in my pizza. Love 'em so much! I'm not sure if all the PP locations do have the same toppings, however, but I had those added to my pizza from last night that happens to be my leftovers for lunch (yay me!) and this DTSA spot is where they had them.  For beverages, they carry a decent selection of beers, including craft on draft. As of last night, they had Grapefruit Sulpin that's always a good to-go-to for IPA and they also carry Perrier if you want something better then the free water. Good crew, newly opened (think earlier this year) it's nice and clean inside. All great stuff they've got at this spot and very much worthy of a visit. read more

Ive been a big fan of pizza press until thy started charging 50cents for sauces. Before the pesto on top of your pizza was included but now it's a charge. They're prices went up on the pizzas as well. I'm a sauce type of girl so I get 4 sauces on the side lol so when they fill up not even half way and still Charge me 50 cents it's like what the heck? Here's a pic of the ranch. Workers don't know any of the items on the menu because I had to explain what a bell pepper, which sauce was which, what basil was. It's an excellent portion size and it's priced so affordable. My family of three ordered the Tribune which was a nice flavored marinara sauce, mozzarella, red peppers, salami, sausage, ricotta cheese and olives.
