Tried this place while we were in the valley because of the great reviews and we were just not satisfied. All the food came out lukewarm if that. Server never came back by with coffee, or to check on us. Booths across the kitchen where we sat, were a tight squeeze, so if you have long legs it's not comfortable. My brother loves taking me here when I visit Phoenix, and its becoming a fun breakfast tradition. This place brings it when it comes to getting enough to eat. Highly recommend the omelettes and just know that you can get biscuit and grave as the side. And if you haven't had their biscuit and grave, just know those biscuits weight more than half a pound. I might be exaggerating but they are super dense and delicious. For how popular "The Place" is, they sure get people in fast and it never is that long of a wait with a table of 5 or less. The food was good!! I'm giving it a 3 because several waitresses didn't practice cleanliness while serving food. A young lady with blue hair scratched her face, looked at her boobs while holding her shirt, opened, dug in her ear, and then served plates without washing her hands. Another waitress with burgundy hair ran her hand down her ponytail and picked up plates, and served food without washing her hands. I was seated at the bar directly in front of the kitchen. One of my favorite meals of the day is traditional American breakfast in the morning. Coming to The Place is a great start of the day. I usually order Chicken Fried Steak because it is so darn good and it is a dish I cannot make at home. The diced potatoes are delicious, they are crispy and soft on the inside. I really wanted to love this place. Ordered an Arizona omelet (well done!) and it came out runny and raw. Unfortunately, I realized that once it was in my mouth. :( gross is an understatement! The rest of the food was below average. The ham on the ham sandwich was gray in color. The side salad is just lettuce with 2 grape tomatoes on top. My husband ordered a biscuit and gravy, the biscuit was alright but the gravy was canned slop with chalky flavor, served lukewarm. The one plus of this place was the servers. They were very kind! Taste wise, I would go closer to a 3.0-3.5, but service and price definitely move me to bump this rating up to a 4.0. I went in on a random weekday around 1:00 pm to grab some food. The place was busy, but not crazy packed. I opted to get one pancake and some breakfast potatoes. Warning: the pancakes are HUGE. I am so glad I asked for a single pancake because there is no way I would have been able to finish a short stack at all. The breakfast potatoes were well seasoned and a yummy contrast to the pancake. I definitely had some leftover food that I had to box and take home. *Ask for to go syrup packets because they do have some!* Service was friendly and our food came out at a good pace so thumbs up for that. Also we paid roughly $12 for two pancakes and two orders of breakfast potatoes which in my mind is a great steal. My first time here, just in the neighborhood and hungry for breakfast! This place is large, a bit noisy but very welcoming. The staff is pleasant and efficient. We were seated right away. I love all the positive sayings on the walls. The log cabin look, the nice bar. The menu has a nice selection of the normal fare and a few unique offerings. I ordered the smothered burrito and my friend ordered the hungry man. Huge portion on the hungry man. The burrito was large for me def had left overs. Food was brought to us fast and at perfect temperature. The fresh squeezed lemonade was amazing. It even was complimented by my picky friend. All in all a great breakfast. After living near this establishment for 3 years we finally gave it a try. When we've considered dining here before we've been turned off by the line outside. Today there was no wait. The hosts seemed confused upon our entry. We were sent to a table that was already sat but quickly taken to another table. The atmosphere here is loud. There isn't much to buffer the noise. Hard wood floors and wood artwork don't do much to muffle sound. A runner and a few canvas art pieces might absorb some of that. The alcohol list was enticing but unfortunately we had to pass. Instead I ordered a coke and a water. Now I drink more soda than one should be allowed and immediately noticed something was off about their coke. It didn't taste like coke should. I mentioned this to the waitress but she couldn't care less. I drank it only because the water here is unfiltered. My wife ordered a coffee and the pot kept making its way around the dining room. For brunch I ordered the huevos rancheros with potatoes. It's was okay. They use a pork verde which was nice. Definitely needs some hot sauce because it's not spicy. My wife got the French toast with strawberries and blueberries. The crust was a bit chewy but otherwise good. Both portions were generous. The service wasn't unfriendly but also not friendly. Literally not one employee had a smile. If you're coming here for alcohol I guess I can understand. Not every breakfast joint has the selection they do. I personally would never wait for a table here when there are so many other establishments that have a similar menu. read more

Genuinely wished we made breakfast at home. $60 + tip is far too pricey for what you get here at The Place. Don't get me wrong, the service here is great. The people seem to mostly get by because it's not packed and busy, but our waitress was very sweet and she helped us with the menu. The ambiance is okay.. it's dark but it smells bad like sewage and even though it's busy it feels empty like there's no real spirit in this restaurant. I wouldn't come here again because of that alone but the food is awful and it looks worse than it tastes. As soon as my husbands "smothered burrito" was put onto the table our eyes met in horror... Cat food is what it looked like. Yikes. My eggs were so wet I felt sick attempting to pick them up with my fork as they just slid right off. Apologized to my husband for the waste of money. My water and coffee were never refilled. Busy restaurant everything we go but it's huge inside and they get you in quickly. Portion sizes are huge and you will go home with left overs. Biscuits are softball size, corn beef hash is crispy browned perfectly, pancakes are fluffy and the build your own omlette is delicious. They are open for breakfast and lunch only.
