Concerned about customer support. Pool pump shut down 7/20/22. Technician showed up 7/26/22. Noted that motor needed replacement. Called again on 8/3/22, since we had not heard back from them. Stated that the earliest they could get someone here would be 8/12/22. I took the day off to let the tech guy in, and then called to see where he was. Stated that he called in sick. I then asked if they intended to call me and inform and they said they were but could not find a contact number?? Informed me that they would come on the following Monday (8/15) again, took time off and again a no show, received no call or update as to what happened. Finally showed up 8/24, replaced the motor but did not have a "O" ring to join the motor to the pump. Used silicone the next day and the pumped worked for 2 hours then shut down again. Have since visited, left messages and still no response! Today being the 20th August, 1 month since 1st contacted! read more

I would like to say that my husband left a review for this company. That was 100% accurate and to the point. We have used this company last year - to get a water test and to also get chemicals and we had the same customer issues as just recently. So our information was not based off of one single interaction with this business it was based off of multiple interactions we had with this company over a span of several years. Unfortunately the business owner of this store - chose a poor and unprofessional way to handle the review and comment on the review. The owners initial comment to the review was "Did you really waste that much time typing all of that?..." - The owner then deleted the comment since it was very unprofessional. - But I managed to take a screenshot and have added it to this review. As a professional in customer service world - I have never seen such poor customer service and disrespectful actions taken by a business owner. And it did not stop there - the owner also felt the need to direct message my husband and harass him about the review that he sent them. He proceeded to state my husband was a terrible customer and that he was never allowed back into his store because of his review. And proceeded to state that people have bad days. Which is ironic since at the beginning of the original review stated it happened MULTIPLE times - so just goes to show he did not read the review very well. But I would appreciate that when you get upset about a poor review that you do not harass and message rude comments to those reviewers in the future. I would be more than happy to post those conversations if you would like? And yes this is a long review and it took me no time at all because I know how to type. And either way it was well worth my time. And the new comment you left on the review is a nice try on using a scapegoat but completely inaccurate information - he was not bullying you he left a review - get over it. And your private messages and threats would be considered bullying. Side note - if you had never sent the initial comment on that review - I would not have posted the review on any other sites and I would not have shared it. I started out using Pool Guys Plus to buy all my pool chemicals about 3 years ago. I stopped using them about 1.5 years ago because I was tired of dealing with Ashley's poor customer service skills. I resorted back to them recently (March 25th 2019) because I was looking into replacing my pool pump and filter. They are one of few that do this kind of work. I called at 11:00 am inquiring about someone to come out to give me an estimate. Theresa picked up the phone and was very nice but Ashley was the one that deals with setting up appointments and that she would call me back within the hour. By 2:37pm I received no call so I decided to call back. This time Ashley picked up. I informed her of the information that I received from Theresa and asked why I didn't get a call back. This is the exact response I received from Ashley "UMM, because I was busy." Now with that being an awkward thing for a business employee to tell a customer I didn't really know how to react. I said " well is this a bad time, are you still busy?" Her response was "I'll call you back in 10 minutes." By 5:35pm I still hadn't received a call back. At this time I was getting frustrated so I called back. Theresa answered again. I explained to her about Ashley and I's interaction on the phone and she was really apologetic which I appreciated. She said that Ashley had left a note on the desk saying that she tried to call me back but I didnt answer. Now that is a complete lie. I had my phone on me all day and was waiting on the call. Theresa was able to put me on the schedule for someone to come give me an estimate for Friday. I thanked her for doing that. This morning (March 26th 2019) I received another call from them saying that I needed to pay $90 plus tax to have someone come out to give me an estimate. I told them that's crazy they charge for an estimate considering 99.9% of businesses don't charge for that. I decided to cancel my appointment because I have 2 other businesses coming out giving me estimates, without charging me. If anyone sees this that owns Pool Guys Plus or manages it, please consider getting Ashley some further customer service training. She's driving customers and a lot of money away to other businesses. Also stop charging for estimates. I was looking at spending 3000-5000 for the work I need done and now I'm spending that money somewhere else because of Ashley's attitude and for you charging for estimates. read more

I told her it was 10 years old roughly and instead of quoting me or offering to look at it she just said its cheaper to buy one. I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income. We saved money up to buy a pool heater, though I did not know I would need to have a giant propane unit installed in my yard in order for the thing to work. I told the guy that I didn't have any gas connections before we ordered, but when I asked to return it because it wouldn't work for us, he said that it would be a 25% restocking fee ($350+), and they wouldn't take it back because there was a tear in the box. I'm mad that they won't take it back, but I'm much more angry that he let me order the thing in the first place when he should have known better. I go to a store when I am unsure of what I need, that way I can receive help from people who do know what they're talking about. Too bad. I'll use amazon from now on, at least they take returns. ***Response to Brian: the problem is not the exchange process, but with the fact that I told you I didn't have gas hookups, and you ordered me a product knowing that I would need a gas hookup and didn't mention it. My hot tub's manufacturer is out of business and it is difficult to find a repair service for my area, so I was happy to find Pool Guy Plus. It took a number of trips, but after February's power outages fried my hot tub, Pool Guy Plus was able to fix the tub. Basically I have a new hot tub, except for the part with the water in it. I particularly thank Jim, the repair guy, and Pete, whom I spoke to regularly. Despite the number of trips, the labor charges were very fair. One suggestion for Pool Guy would be to find a way to provide a better window for appointments; I was only given a date, not "morning", "afternoon", etc. Otherwise I had a very good experience and I recommend Pool Guy Plus. read more

We worked with this company for several months to fix a small leak in our hot tub. Everything worked great but we were concerned the leak, though small, would corrode some of the hot tub components and rot the base. This was the only local company we could find that addressed leaks. They determined the leak originated from the heater mechanism and stated they didn't make replacement parts for a heater as old as ours. So we agreed to let them replace the heater. While they worked on that, they broke another component of the hot tup piping and did a sloppy fix by just putting plumber's glue over the whole and completely removing some of the tubings that fed into the pump and heater cycle. We asked them to replace the broken part and reinstall the tubing they had removed. They did this without argument but we felt we shouldn't have even had to ask. Then once everything was installed, the power worked but the heater wouldn't turn on. The tech came out several times over the course of about 3 months to get it working. The last visit he just started unplugging and plugging in some electrical connections. He said, "At this point, I'm just pulling at straws". That was not too comforting. Eventually, the hot tub heater turned on so we thought perhaps he had fixed it. Well, then half an hour later the heater turned off again. We discovered it was tripping the breaker. My brother in law, an electrician, and I took off the electrical paneling ourselves and then removed the cap to the heater electrical connections and found some loose wires. We reattached the wires ourselves and this resolved the breaker issue. We considered the issue resolved. For weeks we used the hot tub but discovered the water temp was not holding at the set temperature. sometimes we would go in and it was scolding hot, other times it was tepid. We finally purchased a thermometer to check the temp and sure enough, the temp was varying by 20 degrees. We removed the panel again and discovered that the new heater was LEAKING. Which, if you remember, was the whole reason this mess started. We are going to start from scratch with a new company. read more

Husband went to the store, made an appointment for someone to come to the house, and paid to have them replace the split nuts. A guy came out, but didn't have the right parts/nuts - said he would come back with the correct parts but never did. Then my husband went and bought the correct size nuts, and called the company to get the guy to come back and replace the nuts... a job he had already paid for, but had still not been completed. They said he would come back out to replace the parts, but the guy still never showed. So now my husband is out the money he paid, and we still can't use our spa. read more

We went in yesterday looking for two 1.25 inch pieces of tubing for our pools filter. My husband grabbed a couple of packages and the girl working at the time pointed us to another option up front that needed to be cut. We opted for that one because she said it was better for our intended purpose and it was the correct size. She had no idea how to use the tool to cut the tube so my husband had to do it himself. We bring it home and come to find out, it's not the right size. He went back to exchange it for the right size (the one we had originally picked out) but was told that because it was already cut, it could not be returned. What?! Your sales associate told us this was the right size/part so we bought it...it's wrong, but you won't take it back? These sales people obviously have no idea what they're talking about and the manager provides awful customer service. It's really too bad. We try to support smaller businesses such as this one; however, we will never buy from here again. Perhaps you should train your associates better if you want to keep customers. There was a gentlmen in there when we walked in who was quite frustrated by Malia's lack of knowledge and inability to adequately do her job. Go elsewhere for your pool needs! Yes, I understand her being a new employee and still learning. That's fine. We were very patient and my husband had no problem teaching her how to use the tool to cut the tube. However, we should not have to pay for her lack of knowledge. Refusing to exchange the item while my husband was in there explaining the situation is simply poor customer service. After speaking on the phone and sending pictures of our spa plumbing dilemma. We were assured that the gentleman being sent out would be able to fix our issue. We had to pay $160 upfront for the service appointment, which was for the next day. The man showed up on time and seemed very knowledgeable, but after he cut our plumbing apart, he said we had an off-size tubing that he didn't carry connectors for and we would have to go through the manufacturer to get the right size parts. This would be understandable, frustrating, but understandable. Then he mentioned that he had this issue before and when he saw the pictures I had sent previously, he wondered if he was going to have the same issue. He cut the plumbing in a strange spot and left us having to order more parts than were originally needed to fix the issue. My husband ended up using a heat gun to remove the flex tubing from the pvc connector and putting in a new section of hose himself in about 30 mins. read more

I was in desperate need of specific chemicals that I needed to have my pool ready to swim. I got to the store at 5:56pm when they close at 6. I realize I arrived super close to closing, but I knew exactly what I needed and exactly where it was, I would have been out in less than one minute. The girl working told me she already closed her til and couldn't help me. I wasn't rude but was clearly deflated and asked if they were actually open til 6 like Google says (I thought maybe they closed at 5:30 and just hadn't locked the door. She said "No, we close at 6, that's in three minutes" and didn't care that I was inconvenienced. I drive from work Graham for the only place open after 5 in rush hour traffic. I feel that her lack of concern for the customer shouldn't reflect on the store as a whole, it for me it does. I'm the first person to dislike that customer that keeps me past closing. But if 6pm is closing, I would expect the store to stay open until 6, and the employee leave after that. Not close up shop in time to walk out the door at 6. Also, when I walked back out to my car, the "open" sign was still blinking. read more
