Visited The Porch before noon today for lunch with the family, to celebrate a couple of birthdays. Had to wait a significant time to valet the car, even though we were second in line. We were seated immediately, no reservation needed but we could see it was getting busy. Brunch menu was in effect, and although I thought this place would accommodate my picky eater teens, that was only at lunch or dinner when they have the full menu which includes pizza. Server who seated us would not entertain any discussion of making the regular menu items like pizza available before 2pm. Strike one. Brunch menu has many creative items, but not a pancake, French toast or waffle to be found to appeal to picky kids. Strike two. Server promptly brought drinks but was busy with a huge table when we were ready to order. I was very pleased when she sent another server to get our food order in to the kitchen before the big table. Bonus points! Two of us ordered the BBQ Salmon salad, which was really good. Salmon was cooked perfectly medium. Sauce was yummy. Wish I had taken a picture! I had to ask for more dressing, which was very lightly flavored, but otherwise a winner! I also ordered a side of roasted carrot sticks and LOVED them. The spicy aoli dip was wonderful. Pastrami Ruben showed up with turkey instead, had to be sent back. Replacement came quickly. Thick sliced pastrami was a hit with husband. Fries with salt and pepper were good, too. Chipotle chicken soup of the day was too spicy for Grandma, but husband enjoyed it. Two at our table ordered the waffle chicken tenders. This is chicken dipped in waffle batter then fried. It was an enormous serving, but one had to be sent back because again, too spicy for Grandma. It seems the tenders were tossed in red chili maple syrup before serving, which ruined them. Giant teen only ate half, said they were good but stayed away from the extra sauce. Our server graciously offered regular tenders to Grandma, but warned there were a lot of orders ahead of hers. Interesting they could remake a sandwich in moments but the tenders had to wait in line for the fryer behind every new order? We all finished our meals and grandma still hadn't received her plain tenders. So we ordered dessert, two batches of churro donut holes with Mexican chocolate dip. Quite yummy, but they arrived BEFORE GRANDMA'S LUNCH replacement. Strike three. Bill came promptly and payment was processed quickly. Our server was sweet and friendly but couldn't control the kitchen. She did a great job with tea, water and Pepsi refills and apologized for the delay on the tenders and removed them from the bill. I am still not sure we will be back, but I do enjoy trying new places and appreciate the gesture. read more

I'm glad I was among good company, otherwise brunch would have been a complete flop. Service this morning was absolutely horrible. Food took over an hour to come, not everyone's meal came at the same time. One meal came 20 minutes after everyone else's and then it was wrong two times. The decor on the inside and patio outside was nice. Drinks were fun. I am giving 2 stars for the Bloody Mary, but that is generous. Food was just okay, nothing special. You are mistaking my table for someone else. We did not get a free round of shots. The meal that was made wrong twice was removed from the bill, but we did not receive any additional discount. We were told the manager would be coming out to apologize to us, but that never happened either. Apparently there were many tables treated poorly yesterday. read more

This place has a backyard neighborhood feel where you can get together with a group of friends and tap back into your childhood nostalgia. The patio has cute swinging chairs connected to some dining tables, life size games including corn hole and checkers. The drink menu is very creative. The bartenders use a good mix of infused liquor. The short rib nachos was the perfect pick for a girls Friday night out. I would give one more star but the staff collectively was not on their "A" game this day. Extended waits and a bit of an issue being seated however I remain empathetic of the stress COVID has placed on people's personal life and the new way we run businesses. I stopped in for lunch today with my team of 16. They did accept a reservation for lunch time, may not be the case at dinner time. Our service was great! We had the carrot sticks and the chips and dips to start. The carrot sticks were really good! Has a bit of a kick to them too. Chips and dip cane with nicely salty chips, a fire roasted salsa that was okay and a healthy portion of guacamole which was really yummy. While we waited for our food we played cornhole and a hook and ring game, jenga, as well as a giant connect 4. I felt like for the size of our party that our service was very prompt. I ordered the Nashville Sammy. I was happy to see that the chicken resembled true Nashville hot chicken but it wasn't 100% what I wanted. I love spiced chili oil on tradition chicken. The sandwich is absolutely HUGE. My chicken was a little burnt and has a lot more fried breading than actual chicken. I also ordered truffle fries which weren't great. Had a lot of cheese and not a ton of truffle. I saw a picture of fries on Yelp but these were not the shoestring fires we received which was a big bummer. The inside bar was awesome with super comfy chairs. I don't know that this place is ideal for large parties. It is not that spacious. read more

The staff were super friendly and attentive considering it was at at least 90% capacity and they had a large area to cover. Social atmosphere with picnic tables and yard games outside, cozy seating with plenty of music, TV's and hip lighting inside. Menu is eclectic enough to ensure everyone will find something they'd like. A good variety of apps, salads, sandwiches/burgers, and entrees of Mexican, American, Asian, fusion, etc. to hit all the possibilities. Only criticisms are that I ordered the Forbidden Rice with the added "blackened shrimp" and the shrimp were neither hot, not blackened. Normally I'd simply let them know I'd like to have the shrimp finished up on the grill, but circumstances did not permit and I was satisfied with the rest of the meal. I'd try them again and maybe just let them know I don't mind waiting just a little longer to ensure the staff has the time to make the best version of what they can do. UPDATE: Very nice of the management to reach out regarding the review. I totally agree that the customers also have a responsibility to let the staff know if there are any items that they can improve upon during the visit. Unfortunately, the staff was so busy that letting them know was not possible if I wanted the rest of my meal to remain hot while the shrimp was perfected. I was in the industry for 20 years so I absolutely understand that's going to happen from time to time. The last star is NOT a knock against going to The Porch... I absolutely will be back! We all enjoyed the visit. I think the staff and management of most restaurants would agree that Five Stars is for when expectations are exceeded and could not be improved upon. Great place with good food and drinks. Superb atmosphere and great service. I have been to this bar/restaraunt many times, but, my last visit was my favorite . On my last visit our server Faith was excellent‼. She took care of my friends and I very well. There was about 7 of us and I joined the table late. Faith came right over and made sure I got a drink. She continously checked on us and made sure everyone was takin' care. We were all happy and impressed . The food was great and the ambience of the bar/restaurant is always excellent . They have a cool outdoor seating area and fun games inside like basketball . I can't believe that I have been driving passed this place and never been. Went to a late lunch on a Saturday, beautiful patio, kid and dog friendly. They have games to play and great drinks too. The most favorite part were the waffle tenders. If you like chicken and waffles with the ease of chicken tenders then you are in heaven!!! I have looked through past reviews after my service tonight and noticed that this is a common trend that occurs within this establishment. I went to this restaurant with my brother and my boyfriend to have dinner and a couple drinks. After ordering our drinks, our waitress took our ID's back to get scanned as they are all three out of state due to us moving here for school. We had no problem until the manager came to our table saying 2 out of the 3 ID's were fake and left promptly after without giving us an explanation. The three of us honestly thought he was joking as a scanner should be able to determine whether an ID is fake or not, and if not, the manager should be properly trained in determining whether the ID is fake with concrete evidence. Although, when we told the waitress that those were our real ID's, the manager told the two that he thought the ID's were fake because the pictures were slightly blurry. The two people that were accused of having fake ID's have been 21+ for 4 years. The general manager has responded to these type of posts with the same excuse saying "we take fake ID's very seriously" which doesn't seem genuine to me as an establishment should be held accountable if accusing a customer of wrongdoing. I totally understand that, although, I have lived here and been to multiple establishments that have never questioned my ID. The manager that accused us said he worked in old town and mentioned how strict they are but yet no manager in old town has ever blinked twice at my out of state ID. Personally, I feel as if fake ID's should be treated seriously but we did not feel like the establishment felt bad, except for the waitress. She was embarrassed and I felt bad for her. It was unprofessional and it is obvious that the staff/managers need training on how to determine a fake versus a real ID whether it is out of state or not. *UPDATED REVIEW* This is in response to the General Managers response. Though we fully understand that restaurants and bars can be shut down if they are allowing the use of fake IDs, the unprofessionalism that came from this particular situation is inexcusable. After being berated about using fake IDs (and as stated earlier, they were not) we hardly received an apology. The general manager was incredibly rude and made no attempt to remedy the situation that he inappropriately behaved in. Again, instead of replying to my earlier review in a passive aggressive and condescending way, there are several better served ways he could have legitimately apologized. Avoid this establishment at all costs- there are SEVERAL, FAR BETTER places in Scottsdale- where you won't be wrongly accused and have to deal with 'adults' that can't properly do their jobs. read more

Was able to try this driving around looking for a place to eat late Friday night. Their kitchen is open until midnight btw. Not the healthiest food but if you hungry then you hungry. It's a super cute set up too. Lots of awesome decor and little games on the outside. DJ was good and we loved the music but not sure if it's the aame DJ all the time. They have a long cocktail menu, and I started off with a classic--the Porcharita. It's a frozen Patron margarita that subs cointreau for Patron's own Cintronge. It is simple, refreshing, and a must for sweltering summer nights. Outside you'll find ample seating, including an opportunity to post fun photos on the whimsically oversized lawn chair. There was a pretty good DJ spinning 2000s hip hop and a small group of women attempting (and failing) to twerk. When people watching gets bored, challenge your friends to a game of miniature hoops--you know, one of those arcade games we all grew up loving. Overall it's pretty cool, and I'll bring my friends. We wanted to site outside and the hostess was very accommodating even though we were the only ones out there. Our server Vanessa was great. I had the hatch chili burger and my wife had the porch panini. We split our sandwiches and shared. Usually we pick the winning sandwich, but we just couldn't decide this time, they were both great. I love this place! My friend and I were trying to figure out a good place where I could bring my dog and she could bring her kids. After searching around we stumbled upon The Porch. The location is great- walking distance from the Vig and Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers if you're familiar with the area. The menu has a few good options but I opted for the mason chopped + tossed salad and added grilled chicken . When the waitress brought my food, I noticed there wasn't any chicken but she quickly fixed it. To drink I ordered a new drink on the menu called "tickle me pink". It was good- not too sweet at all because of the champagne in it. The best part about this is the outdoor area. There are games including corn hole, Jenna (life size), connect 4 (life size), and that hook and ring toss game. It also has tv's. My friend's 6 year old son watched tv while he ate and when he finished eating he entertained himself while his mom and I were talking. It's great because I know it's hard taking your kids out when you're trying to have adult time but this environment made it super easy! I also brought my dog and he was loving the outdoor area.
