Stopped into the porch on a whim to try out the local sports bar that I've driven by so many times. Let me tell you, I was absolutely blown away. The restaurant had an enchanting ambiance that was bustling with locals. My server Grace was attentive, knowledgeable, warm, gentle and drop dead gorgeous. She recommended the chicken tenders and they were the most divine chicky tendies that have ever touched my lips. They were absolutely divine. The exterior was crispy and bursting with flavor and the chicken was succulent and mouth watering. I will definitely be back and I will demand Grace to be my waitress. She was that good. I absolutely cannot wait to stop in again so she can provide her 6 star service to me. 1st time checking the place out- I left without even sitting down. We stood at the front waiting to be seated...we weren't even acknowledged. Plenty of employees there. No hi. No welcome. No nothing. Came for bottomless mimosas! But didn't realize until I got there that they charge by the bottle, however good deal $15 for a bottle of Prosecco. I don't like to drink without food in me, and the waitress took a really long time to take our order, i'm not sure why but we had to ask her for her to take our order. The chicken was so juicy and spicy what I love in a Nashville hot chicken and the breakfast potatoes were basically hash browns broken up, which I was not mad about it was so good. Really good intentions with temp screening when you come in and good reminders for masks etc in the establishment. Unfortunately, I get the sense that they're going more for style than substance. Lots of crowding and standing around the bar. Outrageous levels of bass with the music playing during a weeknight. Our server, Jake, was completely unknowledgeable and rang up the majority of our items wrong. While he was a nice guy, he disappeared for a long while during the second half of our time there. Nachos were solid, fried pickles were good. Prices aren't great, but fair enough. Just a bad experience with the service and always leave with a super sour taste when the check comes out totally wrong after waiting too long to escape ridiculous noise levels. It almost pains me to leave a one-star review for The Porch, as it is a local favorite of mine and I have been coming here ever since the week that they opened a few years ago. Let me first say that the bar staff is superb and very friendly and accommodating!! I understand that these are strange times we are living in and everybody has had to make adjustments due to the coronavirus. Previously there were staff members taking temperatures as people walked in, they have decided to replace this with two security guards at the door to help out the hostesses. You can put your name on the list and wait outside where there's absolutely NO fans or misters when it is 105 degrees at night! They tell you that you can look through the window and if you see a bar seat open that you can then go in. When you go back to point out there are some bar seats open, they say we are still at capacity. Yet people that walked up to the line way after us were being let in and then taking those seats that we just pointed out were empty. My friend and I were waiting 25 minutes along with some other people that were there before us. New people were coming up, told they were at capacity, but then coming back 5 minutes later and miraculously they were letting them in. Obviously paying off the security guys to let them in. It also was a great advantage to some girls to be very scantily dressed (to say it nicely). They also seemed to have no problem getting in or any issue that it was "at capacity" and then sitting at the bar. If you're going to hire people to stop overcrowding issues, maybe hire someone with better morals, not just looking to pad their pockets with cash from those willing to shell it out. That's taking money away from YOUR business and also your servers and bar staff who totally deserve it!! The happy hour deals aren't much lower than the regular price, but the prices are already reasonable, so that doesn't really bother me. I've been here a couple times for happy hour (3-6:15 M-F), because they'll serve me a pint of Rogue Dead Guy (that's right, folks, they have it on draft here) for $4. Sold on that alone. Right off of Indian School, the parking lot is pretty small for the size of the place. I've never had too much trouble coming after work, but I imagine it gets pretty dicey on the weekends. Walking into The Porch, it's definitely a casual environment and a good place to throw back a couple beers and some bar food. They've got a handful of arcade games (golden tee and the like) in a corner, in case you want to escape your table for a couple minutes. Like I said, it's hard to beat a $4 beer special, especially when they've got Dead Guy on tap. The pretzel is also excellent, gigantic and delicious. Would highly recommend. This last time, I opted for the Porch Burger ($7 on happy hour). It was fine, not super notable--a little salt and pepper goes a long way, friends--but the bun was good. I don't know if it was just smaller because it was happy hour, but it was a pretty petite burger (and I'm a very petite person) that I probably would've been kinda upset paying full price for at that size. The fries were excellent, and I'm 100% a fry snob. Will probably be back for happy hour, but not sure I'd shell out bucks for the burger again. Stick to the pretzels and fries if you're just looking for something to absorb your beer. read more

I saw this place on DoorDash and decided to give it a try. They have a lot of appetizers, sandwiches and burgers to choose from. They even have a beyond meat burger that is vegan friendly! We got the fried pickles, Buffalo cauliflower, pretzel and a Ruben sandwich. The fried pickles are amazing! They are big spears with a little spice and you get a large portion! The cauliflower isn't fried which I thought it would be, it's just baked cauliflower tossed in some spicy buffalo sauce. They weren't what I thought they would be but I ended up loving them! And the spicy aioli it comes with is perfect. The pretzel is a large wheat pretzel and it comes with cheese and mustard. You can't go wrong with a pretzel! We were at the Porch on Saturday June 6, some friends convinced us that the restaurant had good practices to protect customers from COVID-19. Honestly we should have walked out, the place was packed full, no social distances measures. The host was scanning foreheads to take customers temperatures, however his mask was down below his chin. Managements solution to creating a space was some plexiglass mounted between booths. Our server wore a mask, bust she kept pulling it down when she spoke. The booth next to us must have had 10 people gathered around two table beer dispensers. Both my wife and me had the chicken tenders, they were cold, soggy and tasteless. We quickly ate and got the heck out of dodge. COVID or not, we will not be returning to the Porch. read more

Honestly I really enjoyed this place!!! Not sure what's up with all the negative reviews, I would definitely recommend trying it for yourself because I had a great time! I went for happy hour, and we ordered a bunch of apps. We had the pretzels and cheese (literally so buttery and delicious), jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon, French fries, bruschetta, and tostadas. All of it was brought out promptly and it was all so yummy! We also ordered drinks - I had the fig mule and it was so refreshing. I would definitely order it again! The outdoor space is super cute and they have lots of games and TVs. It's right next to the street, but I honestly didn't notice the cars that much at all. They have high fences and lights so I barely noticed. Our server was super friendly and attentive. He made sure our waters were full and brought out a dog bowl for our furry friend! The bread is perfectly toasted and so cheesy, the short rib was melt in your mouth and so lean (no fat at all) finished with nice size slices of dill pickle and their house made bbq sauce.
