(This review is for the coffee and food aspect have not explored the night options). It may be called the pour choice, but I made the right choice coming here. Pre Covid, I'd go to coffee shops to study, read etc. I moved to auburn recently and I wanted something similar to experiences I've had and I didn't feel like having the typical fast starbucks or Dutch bros. The atmosphere much like the town is slow and chill. Everyone here is so friendly. So let's get down to the coffee and food. The coffee is amazing. I'm someone who for health reasons just stick to a cold brew and some oat milk (i treat myself once in awhile.). I also got the grilled cheese with bacon. The total was a bit pricey but also I'm not surprised with the cost of living increasing. Small businesses need the money to operate. Unfortunately some of these reviews seem like they are from some cheapskate people who wanna complain. The grilled cheese was perfectly grilled and hot and not too hard to bite into. It was amazing and they bring it to you, not you having to come down to pick it up. Most other places make you come to them and have to ask them. Not that I mind it but it's nice, it's an experience that's rare to see these days. I find that some of these reviews call it lackluster but will go to a starbucks for burnt espresso. Ok, I definitely don't feel cool enough to come here, but alas here I am hanging with the hip people. But beyond it's trendy decor this place actually has great drinks and excellent service! I really appreciate the dude who took our order and let me know that their chai latte is not sweetened and asked if I wanted to have it sweetened. He offered me two choices for sweeteners and I took his suggestion to have it sweetened with vanilla. He was very friendly and helpful (not sure of his name but he had short dark hair with interesting twist, a thin very long braid. He was great! Give the man a raise!) The chai latte sweetened with vanilla was not too sweet at all, perfectly balanced between sweet and savory of a great chai latte. My daughter loved her hot chocolate. Love the location of this business, there were so many seating choices. Some outside, some inside, some high and some low. The charcuterie board was nice and simple, however the one knock on this place was the extra small servings of cold brew coffee. The nitro cold brew tasted smooth with no acidity but it was $5 for a small serving. I will still be back and highly recommend.....please get this BIG man a man's sized NITRO!!!!!! read more

Great coffee spot!!! For all the haters out there, this business is located in Placer County... And there is no mask mandate as of July-August 2021. So, cry your lights out all you want if masks are not required. They have been very few deaths in Placer County on a per capita basis. .05% death rate Or lower... 308 or so cases... 80% were due to folks that died "with" Covid not due to Covid, and 70% of those were elderly folks over 80. read more

I stopped here on my way home from Tahoe because this place had great reviews and I was in need of a little caffeine at 5pm. Even though they had a sign on the door that required people to wear masks, over half of the customers waiting in line approaching the counter were not wearing a mask. I'm not even counting all the people sitting down inside, outside, on the patio who were all not wearing masks. I overheard one girl wearing a mask telling her boyfriend who was not wearing a mask that she was not feeling well and could not smell anything. My advice to that girl is take a covid test. But that's what I get for stopping in a place like Auburn? Otherwise, the line was long which is usually a good sign. I was the odd one out trying to keep social distance in line (impossible to keep 6 feet but like maybe 3-4) and someone asked me if I was in line... haha My husband was going to order a lemonade but we saw them pouring a store bought lemon concentrate into a glass of soda water so decided against it. My coffee was literally just okay... I think they use verve and claim to have house made syrups. The girl taking orders was really nice but seemed super flustered due to the business. The barista was also super flustered and you could definitely feel the tension waiting in line and even before ordering. Barista also kept pulling her mask on and off to take sips of her coffee, definitely not washing her hands in between. They say when in Rome do as the romans do but I'll wait to stop for coffee in sac next time... highly do not recommend during the pandemic! I would call it a Poor Choice. read more

This place would never fly in the Bay Area. Granted, the shop was VERY BUSY, however 3/3 of the drinks I ordered were completely messed up. 1) I ordered a cappuccino and an oat milk cortado and they gave me 2 cappuccinos (despite the order being taken correctly) 2) I just settled for the 2 Capps and noticed they were super hot, when Capps are supposed to be ready to drink 3) I ordered a nitro cold brew and they didn't add my oat milk or lavender syrup. I asked them to add it (per the order!) and they did, however they didn't add any ice...it was room temp. To top it off, when I asked about all of the above, the barista rudely asked "are you Brandi?" As if I was the one confused when they complete f'd up the entire order. TO TOP IT OFF, THEY DO NOT ENFORCE THEIR MASK POLICY, LIKE, AT ALL. This place does fit the name, you're better off going somewhere else. read more

Definitely the coolest coffee/ food place I've been to! I love the ambiance and the people working there were really friendly! I had the antipasto sandwich and it was perfect for lunch, super light. I love this place. Been here a few times and between my family members, we have sampled quite a few items. Everything has been stellar! I'm from Sparks, NV-about 90 minutes away. I was in need of a little day trip to warmer fall temperatures and The Pour Choice was my first and only pick! I was not disappointed. My morning coffee on their balcony was just what I needed to settle in and relax. After some shopping, I came back for lunch. I got the Thai squash soup and 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich- if I knew the sandwich was going to be that good I would gone with the soup and whole sandwich lol. But it was delicious and satisfying as it was. After spending a little time reading- I grabbed a latte to go for the ride home. A perfect little day trip at one of my favorite little cities. Avocado toast was good. Coffee was good. Service was good. But their blatant denial of science has caused me to immediately rate them one star. Something as simple as asking patrons to wear masks when roaming about or entering the restaurant wasn't done. They even crammed a bunch of people at tables close together. Absolutely love this place; we always used to stop here en route to Tahoe. Unfortunately, the last two times we were there we had to leave because staff were either (a) not wearing masks properly covering nose and mouth or (b) they were wearing face shields that are nothing more than a useless prop.
