Fantastic evening and first trip to The Prescott. We had the pre fix menu for Valentines. They were out of a few things but it was still a delicious meal. The staff was very kind and the vibe is classy and nice but comfortable. I was shocked at how affordable this place is for the level of quality. I will absolutely go back. The only negative I have is parking. There is a lot in the back but it was completely full when I arrived. It was very cold and I had to park at the bank and walk a good distance in the dark alone to get to the restaurant. Since adding more parking likely is not an option, some better lighting just for safety reasons would be awesome. All in all, great place for a date, girls night out, or a party! read more

I can't believe a place this awesome and modern is in this small little town. It's a great farm to table type of place. The food is always delicious. They have a couple of rotating good beers on tap. The food is always amazing. Whether it's a sandwich, chicken, or fish dish. It's a great spot to hang out with friends or to have a date night. The only thing I was not as thrilled about was the bruschetta as it's served cold. This is a personal preference as I would prefer the topping to be heated. read more

First time visit. Having grown up in Kernersville its still a place we go to visit relatives and shop as we are comfortable with it. Thought to give this place a try. Initially we almost walked out. After being seated we sat for over 5 minutes before anyone came to our table. The waiter was initially standoffish. Watched the other wait staff and it appeared they were also struggling. However, as the dinner progressed our waiter became much friendlier as his workload reduced from people leaving. Have to remember how much wait staff is being overworked in this environment we have today. As far as the ambiance in the restaurant, its a little cold. As the evening wore on and the sun dropped, the lighting in the restaurant took over and it became a much more welcoming space. I believe a group was shag dancing in an adjacent room which also was taking time from the bartender. We started out with a mojito and pomegranate margarita, both were excellent! They brought out bread, cranberry and walnut. Neither of us are fans of fruit in our bread, but for those of you that are you will find it delicious. The #1 winner was the creamy truffle lobster dip, it was amazing. The wine list is plain and not very extensive but the waiter told us about a wine that was not on the list and recommended we try it. He let my wife try a sample out of a new bottle, thats a plus! It was good and we kept it. Later he told us about our wines off the list they have; Stags Leap, Silver Oak, etc. Not sure why we were not told during our extensive questioning of the list about all of the off list items. For a ribeye, they cooked it perfect. The meat was excellent quality and the sauce it was fixed with was amazing. Seafood risotto was also top notch. We were full but pushed on to the bread pudding desert just to be able to give a complete review. Summary - Overall the best food we have experienced since moving back. I am amazed and happy this restaurant settled in Kernersville. The environment gets better later and we will remember that. 5+ Food 3.5 Ambiance / Environment. I have been wanting to try the Prescott. The last time I was in Kernersville my family had lunch there. Lunch is more upscale than other spots in town. It wasn't busy so we were seated right away. Our waitress was amazing. She mentioned that steak used to be on the kids menu and she would see if my son could still order it. luckily the kitchen had a kid size steak so he was in heaven. I ordered the softshell crab sandwich with a side of lobster bisque. The soup came out first and it was delicious. It had chunks of lobster and the soup was very creamy. My son steak was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. he really enjoyed it along with his mashed potatoes. My sandwich was very good and I enjoyed the sauce they put on it. The crab was very . My husband enjoyed his chicken wrap. Their french fries were perfectly cooked and very crispy. The only downside was they did not have their chocolate cake. My son wanted to have that for dessert but they were out of it, we plan to come back since we had such a great experience. read more

The Prescott has class! It is a fancy restaurant in a little town, where folks from other surrounding cities and towns come to have an elegant dinner. The location is somewhat difficult to find for a non local once you find it definitely will remember it for your next visit. The interior is decorated with taste and location is very clean and well maintained. Extra clean bathrooms and what raises this review at least one star is the use of professional and elegant table cloths and napkins. This detail in itself provides the guests with expectations and promise. Our server (Dylan/Dillon) was very attentive and helpful with particular attention to all the phases of our dining experience. The meals are obviously prepared by a chef not a cook and the dish presented elegantly. Fresh ingredients and "farm to table" statement was obvious in the great taste. Wine selection is great and wines are served proper temperature. We had steak and cheese hoagie, lobster soup , and the Prescott Club sandwich all very well prepared and delicious. This place!!! Omg! We had some trouble finding the entrance, but that's probably just user error- lol. We had about a 30 minute wait, but I'd say pretty worth it. The food was delicious, absolutely. Try the food, however, and you'll be glad that you didn't. Though not spacious, The Prescott does not feel cramped. It offers a comfortable atmosphere with appealing art. We showed up around noon for a Sunday brunch sans reservation and were seated immediately without difficulty. As befitting a farm-to-table eatery, what's on the menu may vary depending on what's in season. No matter what time of year, however, expect a compact but tantalizing selection. The brunch offerings during our visit included an upscaled French toast, a full English breakfast, a lobster Benedict, steak and eggs, and more. We ultimately settled on the French toast with a side of potatoes and the lobster Benedict. Good food takes time, but even with that maxim in mind, the kitchen was somewhat slow. To The Prescott's credit, an amuse-bouche (fresh berries and Greek yogurt) was offered to tide diners over, a classy touch that was refreshingly tart and crisp. Service was otherwise sharp: prompt, courteous, and welcoming. The thoughtfully plated food proved well worth the wait. The Benedict had no shortage of lobster, the eggs were poached perfectly, and the few accompanying blistered tomatoes helped offset the other components' saltiness. The crisp, herby potatoes were addictively good. The French toast used pumpkin bread, an odd choice given how sweet and dense it is already. While that's probably not the best fit for this dish, it proved tasty nevertheless. Had a going away dinner here for one of my coworkers. The atmosphere is very nice, quiet, and somewhat romantic. It would be a perfect dinner date. I ordered the honey suckle chicken entree and it was very delicious. The mashed potatoes were seasoned well and so were the summer vegetables that came with the meal. I also ordered both desserts (no judgement needed lol) because I couldn't choose between the Apple Brandy bread pudding or the Creme Brulee cheesecake! They were both AMAZING!!! Mother's Day..... I have heard so many good things about this place. We had a reservation and were seated quickly in the large back room that was poorly lit and very cold. The main restaurant is beautifully decorated but the back room is an afterthought. Our waitress brought came and took drink orders. We needed a few minutes to read the menu. Once food was ordered it took about an hour for it to appear. We were told twice that our order was next up.... When it appeared, EVERYONE'S food was COLD! It had obviously been sitting for quite awhile. The cheese sauce on mine was cold but the tomato and lettuce were warm and wilted. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I did actually try my cold food-- the flavor was amazing and it would have been phenomenal if it were warm. The only thing that was hot was the corn chowder that my daughter ordered as an appetizer. Mother's Day Nightmare. We waited 45 minutes for soup and salad and another hour for our entrees. The wait staff was doing their best but because the food took so long to get out, nothing else really mattered. This could have been forgivable but the manager was viewed in the office and never once came to our table or any other table to apologize, explain or otherwise try to make right. We began with The Meat and Cheese appetizer and it was perfect - with several excellent cheese and meat selections, Rolands multi grain mustard, a very nice jam, some green apple, and perfect slices of toasted house bread. We went in expecting braised ribs. New menu. Summer sampler. My nearly 14 year old-son, ready to celebrate the end of Middle School, was not happy with the new choices. He went back and forth between chicken or steak. We had some salads, gazpacho (best I've ever had - watermelon, heirloom tomato, cucumber, and green strawberry) and a few other starters. My mom and son ordered steak. Mom because she was suddenly in the mood (she rarely eats steak, ever). My son, because I convinced him it would be good and told him ask for the marble potato, cipollini onion, broccolini with a thyme jus on the side. My mom was blown away. My son ate everything on the plate and loved every bite. We met with Chef Prescott after the meal. Got his history. Our waiter already shared where they get the steaks. Before I begin, this location is obviously understaffed as are many other restaurants these days. I will have taken this into consideration for my review. The meal was not paced well and I am assuming this is due to staffing so I did not deduct any stars for this. Luckily we went on a Saturday with nothing else to do. If you are on a timeline, then it will be best to save this place for another day. This is in the location of the former Bistro B. I really liked Bistro B back in the day so we made reservations for lunch. They changed the decor a bit. There was some strange Valentines display when you first walked in which didn't fit the classy vibe the place is obviously trying to go for (white linen table cloths and candles on the table) especially since it was very close to the last day of February. The server was very pleasant and took care of our needs. The Food: The walnut shrimp appetizer: the shrimp were big and cooked extremely well. The dish had some sweetness to it which would have been well balanced if there had been more horseradish in the sauce. I did not detect any horseradish. Bread for the table: this should have been complimentary but you have to request it and you get charged for it. The bread was delicious and the butter they served it with was nice. Though again I did not get any thyme from it and it was a Honey Thyme butter. Salads: the cauliflower Caesar salad was lovely it had a peppery bite to it. The house salad had really good blue cheese on it but they paired the salad with a 1000 island dressing which did not do any justice for the salad. If you order this don't go with the recommended salad but choose something where you will be able to get the flavor of the cheese. Entrees: The seafood risotto was well seasoned and tasted really nice. I did think it was a little strange to have a pink fish like Salmon paired with scallops and shrimp, but I enjoyed the dish. The grouper plate with rotini pasta- skip it. It was the least impressive thing we had that day. It was in need of some kind of sauce and fresh black pepper. This place is now our favorite restaurant in the triad area. The lobster bisque was delicious, I dreamed of it once over the next week after having it!! The seafood risotto and my husbands steak were professionally prepared and delicious. The staff made you feel very welcome. Best of all, the martini I had was delicious. So I'm updating my review based on my dinner experience. My daughter picked The Prescott for her birthday dinner with her rents and in laws. We'd been for lunch and loved the food and service. So we had a 6:30 reservation on a busy Friday night. I noticed the sanitation score was 84.5 which definitely gave me pause but we went ahead and were seated right away. Our server came over and took our drink order and we ordered two lobster dips. Had it before and it was awesome! Our server said they may be out but she would check. Never said happy birthday or even smiled at the birthday girl. Brought our drinks, wine, beer and waters and the lobster dip. Good start! We ordered entrees and a good forty minutes passed before we were told we were up next. What the hell does that mean in a restaurant? At this point the restaurant was packed and no one seemed to be eating. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen but we didn't receive anything close to an apology or it will be right out. We waited and waited. Finally five of the seven entrees were delivered. Warm, not hot. We sat and waited for the other two to receive food. Another ten minutes and we all had finally been served. The food was pretty good all around with the salmon and seafood excellent. The grouper was tasty but way overcooked. I'll cut this short now. Not a great experience and our server seemed to not really care that we weren't happy. We got all three deserts offered and it would have been nice if even one of them was comped. Nope. I was initially super excited that I stumbled upon this charming little place, but I'll admit that I was slightly disappointed. The front door is a little challenging to find, but once inside, the atmosphere of the place is comfortable and homey. I've been seeing mixed reviews of the service, and I'd have to agree. The service wasn't abysmal, but it wasn't superb either-- very middle of the road. In regards to the food, it was pretty tasty but the ingredients didn't seem as fresh as they could have been. On my second visit to celebrate a birthday of one of my favorite people, just before everything shut down in March, was a fabulous experience again. With the same group of gals from my first visit, who all love this place too. We started off with the same awesome truffle lobster dip appetizer, this is such the ultimate in decadent foods! Creamy, buttery, basically amazing, with great homemade crostini's. Also got the duck beignets, these were surprisingly good, not a big duck fan, but I have no idea what the sauce inside was but together with the duck, and the crescent roll buttery sweet and salty. Great app. I ordered the yellow fin tuna which is actually an app for my meal, enough of a portion for one, parsnip purée base, with oranges, greens, and hazelnuts. Cooked perfectly. Great combination of flavors , awesome and paired with a side of fries, twice cooked kind! Can't beat those! Homemade ketchup too. Friends got the steak which also had a parsnip purée base, with potatoes and greens, again cooked just like she wanted. The salmon, with spinach and asparagus and crab. Visually a beautiful dish, and again great reviews on it. Birthday girl got the ultimate prime burger with fries. On a brioche roll, cooked well, just perfect. Comfort food! Our server knew we were celebrating a birthday, so she chef sent out a birthday dessert, which was really nice if them, and so pretty! With chocolate mousse, macaroons, petit fours, raspberries and whipped cream, something for everyone ! Loved it, the mousse was so good and rich. I have been here several times. My most recent meal there was okay. I've had amazing ones there, was so disappointed with my last visit. I know staffing issues are a common thing right now, but the sign on the front door, hostess stand, and bathroom doors was a bit much. Once seated, I noticed numerous things not cleaned very well. Food was okay. Long wait to get. I attribute that to all the help wanted signs. The uncleanliness, how it seems to have gone downhill from previous visits, the bartender bringing an unhappy worker a mixed drink, no acknowledgment when I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, and I guess the overall feel that nobody wanted to be there to work that day. I needed to make a quick trip to the Girl Scout office in Colfax and I need up arriving 45 minutes before opening. That's okay, I'm always looking for an excuse to explore and discover a new restaurant- that's how we ended up at The Prescott in Kernersville. Tucked away in a quaint, cobblestone lined set of shops just off of N. Main St., if you're not looking for it, it would be easy to miss, so, look for it! They coin themselves "Modern Farm-to Tablle Experience" that focuses on locally grown ingredients. As we arrived early for the lunch rush, we immediately sat at a private table located overlooking the patio shops. Since it was just myself and my husband, it was perfect! The menu had several tempting appetizers (Pan Seared Scallops, Pamlico Walnut Shrimp, Creamy Truffle Lobster Dip to name a few), and a sampling of daily soups, one of which was a Lobster Bisque- sold. We each started with a cup. As for our lunch entrees, we went completely separate routes. My husband can not turn down a Seafood Risotto, and I was looking for something a little lighter, so I chose the Herb Roasted Chicken Salad which came served on a croissant with a side of roasted asparagus. I also ordered a Honeybee Martini. Let's start with our impression of the Lobster Bisque. Let me just ask a question first-- would you just me if I told you I ended up picking up my bowl and drinking it? Like, for reals. It was THAT GOOD. The presentation was superb. Our soul cups arrived with chunks and bits of lobster meat staring up at us. Undressed. No bisque. Naked beauty. Our server had a silver pitcher full of fresh, hot bisque that she then poured atop of the awaiting shellfish. It was a thing of beauty. **Almost** to pretty to eat. Our entrees arrived, and they too were put together thoughtfully. My husbands risotto contained seared scallops, shrimp and a perfectly seared, medium rare salmon. It was garnished with shaved parmesan. The risotto itself was creamy and had just the right amount of seasoning. Great dish! Now, I know it would seem that a chicken salad sandwich is impossible to mess up- but you'd be wrong! However, The Prescott's herbed chicken salad was delicious! I would have preferred my croissant have been grilled or toasted, but the salad itself was without flaw. The restaurant itself would be perfect for a date night, a special event, or really any time you're looking for a good meal. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, as was the hostess. Visited during Covid, in August. Wore mask to table then we were fine to sit inside. The waitress was a total delight, she made the visit so fun. Our meal was amazing. The shrimp appetizer was awesome. The charcuterie board wonderful. I got the bbq chicken sandwich and it was so good I couldn't stop making dumb noises as I ate.
