So that was a good sign (can you tell I'm scarred by The Press in Pleasanton?), service was quick and food was delicious! I especially love the location of this one since it's in the middle of downtown so I can stroll along the street to browse at other stores. Great place for breakfast and brunch! I live closer to the Pleasanton one but unfortunately they close on Sundays. Surprised to see this location with a different schedule, I came here in the morning and saw a short line outside. The line went by fast, and I was able to look through their menu before ordering and sitting down. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Once you order, you'll be given a number and the food will be served to your table. I ordered a roast beef jalapeno triple cheese, shakshuka, mochi coffee crumble cake, and two hot graham cracker lattes. The roast beef jalapeno triple cheese was nicely toasted with delicious melted cheese and tender slices of beef. The shakshuka was a bit visually disappointing because it looked more like an egg on top of arugula salad with some chopped tomatoes. Flavor was not terrible, but not something I expected for shakshuka. This is a weekend special menu item! I would recommend their other breakfast items though. The lattes were really good and had nice combination of honey and cinnamon to replicate a graham cracker flavor. The sweet and savory McDonald's Sausage Egg and Cheese McGriddle is one of my favorite things, but I'm in my 40s and recently decided I just couldn't justify all that processed crap for my first meal of the day. The name may be commonly used, but there's only 2 locations: here in Livermore, and also in Pleasanton. Like I said, it's cute (as hell), and very clean. Modern in design, it features a vibrant menu filled with coffees, breakfast, sandwiches, and salads. They close at by 3pm, 2pm on some days, so get there early (and enjoy). So, finally, I jumped. The gf, pooch, and I got a couple of sandwiches. I got the The Press Sub [$16.50, 5.0 stars] -- a little small (7"?), but lots of meat and totally delish. Acme organic ciabatta roll, Hobbs ham, salt craft salami, provolone, baby arugula, tomato, onion, pepperoncini, aioli and Dijon mustard. Served with a choice of salad, soup, or fruit. I had the butternut squash soup, and wow -- it was awesome. To boot, we also met the owner, who came by to make sure we were okay. So nice! I'll be back when in Livermore. They press is not over hyped! I heard about it but didn't understand the rave until after giving them a try-They really do have great selections and the food is really good. Me and a few colleagues ordered takeout for lunch and the order was ready in about 15-20 minutes. I enjoyed the Honey hot ham and cheese panini! The sandwiches are made/stacked in doubles , so you can eat half and save the other half to eat later. Paninis are served with a side salad so your sure to be full after eating here. Stopped by for lunch on a weekday with a friend recently. Parking was a bit of a pain. There's only street parking and I was not lucky that day. I ended up parking a few blocks away down a residential street. It was hot day to walk that far. Bring your walking shoes in case you have to park further away! When I finally arrived, I was glad to see that there were still a few tables open. You order first and get a number to place on your table for your food and drinks. We sat near the bathroom and noticed they had those spinning fly deterrent contraptions. Not really a huge issue for us but flies came around despite those devices. My friend and I both got their Beet & Arugula Salad with Turkey added and Tumeric Latte. Both very tasty! I also got the Roast Beef and Jalapeño Panini to go for my hubs who enjoyed this as well. Amazing brunch place! Very cute shop with plenty of seatings. Food was excellent!! Great sauce for the Benedict. Both the smoked salmon toast and the sandwich were cooked to perfection. The Benedict came with a mini salad with grapefruit. Very refreshing combo. For drinks, the matcha latte was especially good. Strong matcha flavor which I love! Service was attentive. You need to find your own table but they have servers that go around to make sure you get everything you need. They also make sure tables are clean promptly. I actually was one of the first people to ever try the press at their original location in Pleasanton. Saw them grow over the years, good for them! It's a clear example of if you offer a good product and good service, the world is yours. Saw the seasonal roasted corn and peach salad and I knew I had to have it! I decided to pair it with the honey mint latte, since I was intrigued by it's flavor combination. Upon delivery, I was absolutely wow'd by the salad. It featured so much more than advertised! I absolutely loved the addition of the red quinoa, roasted sesame séeds, and roasted pepitas. Not only did all of these elements add good texture and protein, but the nuttiness paired so well with the peppery arugula, sweet yellow peaches, sweet roasted corn, and creamy goat cheese! That lemony Dijon dressing was also A+. Would absolutely order this again! As for the latte, it was velvety and smooth. I subbed oatmilk in for the standard whole milk and was pleasantly surprised to not lose any creaminess (always a hit or miss depending on the cafe). I thought the combination of honey and mint was indeed interesting! Not sure it'll ever be my go to, but it was certainly fun! The press has a unique versatility in the menu that they provide. Whereas many restaurants focus on an area; having either mediocre coffee with great food, or focus on coffee with some small pastries to join; the press has the best of both worlds. I have normally come here for the food, which has all been excellent in my experience, however this time I went just for coffee with friends. Drinks: I tried the honey mint latte which is certainly high on my list of specialty coffee drinks I've had. The extra flavors fit perfectly with the profile of the coffee and they balanced each other very well. No flavor was too much or too little. Service: excellent and attentive service with a smile. They moved through their line quickly and hand you a number. The items came out quickly and I noticed that they were very mindful about cleaning off finished tables quickly or removing used dish ware. In addition to their fresh sandwiches, they have excellent coffee (not many places to go where you get best of both). In fact, the Affogato was so good, I had two! Definitely a nice environment and the staff were extremely polite and friendly; the gentlemen who took our order was very considerate and friendly. The food came out within about 10 minutes and I got the Roast Beef Jalapeño Triple Cheese Panini while my girlfriend got the Triple Cheese with Turkey. Both sandwiches definitely weren't anything to write home about unfortunately. The Roast Beef was bland and my girlfriend noted her sandwich didn't really have much zip to it either. Overall, definitely would give 5 out of 5 for service but probably a 2 or 3 out of 5 for food. The Press is one of my favorite cafes in Livermore. Their coffee, panini, and baked good options are insanely delicious. Food quality is superb! All of their ingredients taste super fresh and a majority of the menu is healthy options which as a healthnut, I really appreciate. Healthy food shouldn't be overly priced but it should still reflect the quality of the ingredients put into their food. The Press does just that. The transparency in all of the local small business products they use is great. They use products from Acme, Chromatic Coffee, Hobbs and so much more. The design of the restaurant is essentially a quick grab and go. There's not really any table service. You just order at the cashier and your food comes out pretty quick. There's a good amount of selection of baked goods that look absolutely mouthwatering. The banana pecan bread pudding was a solid choice. The bread pudding is eggy, moist, and layered with banana slices which I was not at all expecting. I was expecting banana to be blended in but when its layered like this, you can really appreciate that fresh banana taste. The pecans added a nice crunchy texture to contrast the soft bread pudding. The crumb topping is fantastic and probably the best part! The apple cheddar scone was equally delicious. It was filled with layers of buttery goodness and the bits of cheese added a light balance of savoriness. It left me wanting more!! The pesto turkey panini featured homemade pesto, nitrate free turkey, creamy brie, and provolone cheese. The bread was thin- light and airy, toasted to a crisp. The roasted turkey was delicious and not overly salty. Everything came together so well. The side salad was simple and dressed with a light vinaigrette. The spring mix tasted fresh but the salad felt like it was missing something. Maybe some nuts or seed would add some texture! I've been to The Press on multiple occasions, why I haven't reviewed yet? That is a mystery for us both! First thing: there's things to love about both Press locations, both aesthetically pleasing and contemporary with great staff and an even better menu! This location specifically (in my experience) is a bit more difficult to find parking and busier. Depending on the day and time but you know what to expect when in downtown Livermore. From black cold brew to the seasonal gingerbread latte, they do not skip a beat! So so good. I usually go for iced coffee because cold brew can seem too sour for me sometimes but they got the assignment! and that gingerbread latte isn't too sweet, it is just right. They also have tasty lemonades! Lavender and matcha all the way. These are on the sweeter side, so definitely keep that in mind, they are a treat. The menu is rather large, I find it hard to choose sometimes! When in doubt, I usually go for seasonal items...because well...seasonal. lol but my year round favs are anything elvis, the tomato soup & avocado grilled cheese. If you're not a soup/salad/panini person - this probably won't be your thing. Especially with the price tag, but if you are, you will be willing to pay the price. It's worth it. I love the Press in Livermore! It's the perfect spot to grab boujee SF type brunch in the tri valley area. Service is quick, friendly and the establishment is extremely clean and feels trendy. I typically order the avocado and goat cheese toastini and a gingerbread latte with oat milk while my boyfriend orders a matcha latte with a turkey cranberry panini. I should note my preference for coffee drinks is on the less sweet side so it has perfect sweetness for me. They don't serve soy milk but my advice to alternative milk drinkers would be to opt for oat milk like myself for the closest consistency substitute. Today I wanted to try something new so I ordered the Avocado Triple Cheese Panini with tomato soup on the side and it was absolute heaven on a cold and rainy day. Same beautiful aesthetic, same delicious menu! Came with my mom midday for a lunchtime treat. Both were delicious, although there was a longer wait due to the lunchtime rush. Also ordered an iced latte to-go. Would repeat on all fronts!
