Finding restaurants that make gluten free sandwiches can be a challenge. The press has met the challenge. All of their sandwiches can be made on gluten free bread. And it is good bread! I had the turkey Ruben. I got 2 sandwiches. The sauerkraut was purple. It was tasty and had a crunch. The turkey tasted fresh, but I would have like more. Ultimately I discarded 1/2 the bread and combined it into one sandwich. I also had a lavender lemonade. I really enjoyed it. It did not taste like perfume. Not only are the food and coffees fabulous, the people who work here are amazing and so friendly. I always get an avocado & egg toastini because they make them so perfectly! The bread is toasted with the right amount of crunch, topped with delicately sliced avocado, an egg, black sesame seed, and drizzled with olive oil. It's "chef kiss!" Also ordered a Spanakopita Scone and a Banana Pecan Bread Pudding. Both were delicious. Love their unique flavor profiles. You can't find these flavors just anywhere. It gets super busy around brunch/ lunch time but they have a decent amount of seating and the employees are super on top of clearing and wiping down tables. You order in line while someone else can find a seat, which is super convenient. I got the matcha latte to start, which was nice and hot but not too strong or creamy. It had a really cute lead design in the foam too! The hot honey ham and cheese panini is my go-to. I love the subtle hints of sweetness from the honey and the Dijon is not overwhelming at all. Hubby & I visited Livermore today for our ongoing Picnic Sunday date. We ordered the caprese & salami sammy w/ a side of tomato soup, a turkey reuben w/ a side salad, and a breakfast sammy. All of them were tasty and substantial. The reuben and caprese sammies were double deckers. I would have preferred less bread, but that's me. The tomato soup that came with the caprese was a little on the sweet side, but complemented the sandwich well. The side salad to the reuben had a balsamic vinaigrette and also complemented the flavors of that sammy. All in all, a great choice for a picnic. Also, even though downtown Livermore is packed on Sundays with the farmers market, it was easy to find parking. They've set up the area well to accommodate the extra parking. read more

This is a great breakfast/brunch place. My wife and I just came back from our Valentines brunch earlier today and we had a great time. We both enjoyed their fresh blood orange mimosas along with their specials such as sausage & grits, lemon-strawberry mochi pancakes, and eggs Benedict. Since it's patio dining, they serve their food in to-go boxes and utensils which is smart. You order in line then you find yourself a seat. This place can get packed quick so come early. They also get lots of to-go orders so prepare to wait some time for your food. Their Mochi pancakes were good but it needed more syrup. Their eggs Benedict was tasty with all of it's toppings but I wish they served it on a fluffy biscuit instead of the thick toast. Their sausage was super flavorful which paired great with their creamy grits. The arugula and pickles provided a nice tangy-smoky flavor with my sausage. We loved their food! No complaints here. I really enjoyed my matcha sesame latte, it's one of the best one I have had, the taste was not overwhelming and great combination of both. I had been to the Pleasanton location multiple times and loved it. I was happy to see that there is another location in Livermore. Be sure to check their hours. I accidentally showed up at the Pleasanton location on a Sunday but only the Livermore location was open. I've liked all the food that I've tried here. I always try something different or try to order from the seasonal menu and have never been dissappointed. Some of my favorites are the nordic toastini, breakfast sammie, avocado triple cheese panini, and turkey reuben The pastries and drinks are good as well. The graham cracker and chai tea lattes are my favorite. However, I thought that the Matcha wasn't that flavorful and wasn't mixed well. Ok let's just say this was absolutely delicious they cook the egg over easy, which I love and the Bacon was cooked to perfection, and meaty, no fat. The tomatoes and lettuce were so fresh and juicy. Came from out of town with a group of friends and decided to check this spot out on a whim. Wasn't too busy on a Friday morning and service was quick; really aesthetic decor too! Personally ordered the Nordic Toastini and wow, super tasty! The lox was delicious, tomatoes + micro greens were very fresh, and the goat cheese was the icing on the cake. Only nit would be that the bread felt a little tough, but delicious nonetheless. They also really go the extra step in presentation as the toastini arrived beautifully plated! We went here on Mother's Day and unfortunately were extremely disappointed. We ordered the fruit toast, salmon Benedict and the avocado toast the toast was small and very hard to eat our daughter just ended up eating the fruit, and the same for the rest of our Orders, very disappointed, our bill was almost $100 for 3 orders of hard to eat toast. Yum we loved the Press! Got the BLET (BLT + Egg) sandwhich, the chia pudding and the tumeric and honey mint latte. The lattes were perfect, and we're a little spoiled b/c we have an expresso machine at home and have gotten picky about latte milk (a lot of places aren't foaming the milk properly esp during the pandemic). Everything tasted, delicious and were perfectly seasoned. The entire staff was so nice and you can get pretty flowers from dutch root farms from them. What's not too like? I wish there were more healthier, but flavorful options in the Bay (not just bowls and salads) and The Press fit that bill. If I were closer, this would be my go-to brunch place! I only wish I had taken pictures, but the food was so incredible, we devoured it before I could even think to photograph it. I was visiting my grandma, who is in her 90s, and was told not to bring too much food because she doesn't eat much. Now, 1. I don't follow directions well, and 2. I wanted to be sure there was something she liked, so I ordered too much food. Or so I thought. The seasonal menu looked too good to pass up, so I ordered all three lunch items, butternut squash soup, winter apple salad, and harvest pear panini. We started with the salad. It was beautiful! On top of some sort of fancy greens were layered green apples (cut in very small pieces), pomegranate, cranberries, blue cheese, pecans, and I don't even know what the dressing was--almost unnecessary with all of those wonderful flavors. I will be dreaming of this salad for weeks, guaranteed! It tasted even better than it looked, if that were possible. We ate almost all of it. But of course, we had to try the panini. Now, this was not a small portion. It actually came with two sandwiches, both cut in half and a side salad that looked almost as beautiful as the delicious apple salad we had just finished (needless to say, we ignored it temporarily). The panini was toasted bread, which I worried might be too hard for my grandma to eat. It wasn't, but I'll get back to that. The panini was filled with turkey and bacon, sliced pear, and perfectly melted brie cheese. There might have been other ingredients, but those are what I remember tasting. It was so good. And Grandma ate the entire sandwich. At this point, I'm questioning her eating habits, since she seemed to have a pretty good appetite (I think I ate a little more of the apple salad than her, but other than that, food was getting polished off at an excellent rate), but my aunt confirmed she doesn't usually eat this well. That leaves the soup, which we wrte both too ful for. I tasted it to confirm that it was good, probably the most standard of the three food options I brought, but tasty enough. Unfortunately for me, I live over 300 miles from this Cafe, although that's probably better for my wallet, because I would likely try to find an excuse to eat here very often. Also, I almost forgot, I ordered online for pickup. The process was super easy, and it took about 20 minutes for them to prep the food. It did seem like the menu prices were higher online than at the Cafe, but still entirely fair for what we got. I highly recommend The Press as an outstanding lunch spot, and my grandma agrees! read more

I'm partial to the eggs Benedict, but they have lots of great offerings. For some reason I enjoy the arugula salad they put on your plate as a side and I usually am not an arugula fan. The Press is a pretty nice brunch place in Livermore. They got a few selections of variety of stuff - sandwiches, salads, drinks, soups, you name it. They also have a seasonal menu you should check out because it's good stuff! The first time I actually dined in at The Press was at their Dublin location. I don't have a preference towards either locations because both of my experiences have been great. We had a party of six, and it's kind of a 'sit wherever you can find a spot' kinda place (at least at the Dublin location). One of the staff members kinda saw us hovering around looking for a seat and asked how big my party was. Although there was a small table outside, she had let us know that if we just wait a bit (because turnover time is quick), we can get a larger table indoors, so that's what we did. She even came back to let us know when a table opened up indoors, how nice! For our party, we ended up getting 1) The Press Benedict, 2) Shroom + Egg Toast, 3) Blissfully Beet + Arugula + Quinoa Salad, 4) Turkey Avocado Provolone. Between my brother and I, we ended up sharing a Turkey Avocado Provolone (without cheese) and a Peach + Roasted Corn Salad (cheese on the side). I'm glad they're able to make accommodations even though they're quite busy! I also ended up getting their Golden Beet Lemonade since today was super hot and I wanted to cool down with a drink. The wait for food didn't take too long. Maybe about 10 minutes or so. The Golden Beet Lemonade was surprisingly better than I thought. It's not too sour or too sweet, but refreshing with a bit of spice. I think there's some cinnamon in there, but possibly some ginger infused in it as well. Whatever they mixed together was great. As for the Peach + Roasted Corn Salad, it was good. Salad was fresh. There were plenty of yellow peach slices mixed in and they were sweet. The addition of edible flowers was a nice touch to the presentation of the overall salad. I also like how they put the dressing on the side so we can add to our liking. As for the Turkey Avocado Sammie, this was delicious as well! There were plenty of ingredients in there. You have the option to have a side of salad or soup to go with it. We opted for salad and they gave a good portion for a side salad. Again, the salad was fresh, but what I looked forward to was the Acme bread! I don't normally go for sammies, but I definitely don't mind having one when I know the bread will be good, haha! It was an enjoyable Sunday brunch. The paninis are really good but between ALL the flies and the really loud boisterous laughing coming from the kitchen staff, it was hard to enjoy the cafe vibe. Also FYI don't return something that you genuinely didn't like because they won't hide the fact that they are upset you're returning something.
