Just tried this place for the first time tonight. I got a steak and cheese with onions and bacon. It was pretty decent... a little bland. I've had worse steak n cheese subs and I've had better. If you get it, I would suggest ordering yours with extra cheese because there was very little on mine. read more

We ordered breakfast there noon-ish on a Saturday. OK food, nothing special, nothing awful either. EXTREMELY slow service. There were five people behind the counter, only two seemed to be actually doing anything, and one of them was exclusively taking orders and working the register. Lots of customers waiting for food. VERY expensive for what you get. For the $25 they charged us for two ordinary breakfasts, we could've gone somewhere else and had table service, with actual china dishes and metal utensils, and refills on the coffee to boot. That's awfully pricey for cafeteria-style dining on styrofoam plates and plasticware you get yourself from a bin. We won't be back. read more

Decent local place for breakfast and lunch and one of the go to places for the local Brandeis students. The breakfasts are pretty basic, but they taste good and the service is fairly fast. I have been ordering from Prime Deli quite regularly for the past three years, and they have always provided quick, efficient and wonderful service and delicious, fresh food. The portions are great, especially for the price. They have a wide variety of options and a super friendly staff. Very disappointed! I wanted to grab breakfast before I caught my bus in the morning. Did not get a chance to look at sandwich until I got on bus and couldn't believe they put one small egg and two pieces of bacon in their standard bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The food is okay, but the delivery service is horrendous. I've worked in the industry and get it, but don't allow customers to place orders for a certain time if you cannot hold to your word and deliver. I ordered for 11:45 am, it is now almost 12:45 and my lunch break is over and I don't have lunch. I called and the customer service could use immense work. I was told it's lunch hour and I asked what's the point of giving a delivery time if you cannot keep your word. Please don't waste your time and money for a business that could give two craps about their service. Ridiculous. read more

While the food is consistently average, the delivery time is outrageous. They often take much longer than estimated, and the food arrives lukewarm. I've also put in specific instructions before and they've failed to follow them. NOT RECOMMENDED This place used to be good. Now it sucks. I ordered breakfast this morning and I specifically order a side bacon. They manage to forget the bacon and show up 45 mins later. Worst part about it is that the food is Ice cold when it arrives. The bagels are UNTOASTED and a smear of cream cheese that looks indescribably awful. Have you ever tried eating a cold bagel with cream cheese? Its chewy as hell and inedible. You can even toast it at your house because the cream cheese just melts in the oven. They give you an inedible amount of potatoes to mask the quality of the food, which is crap. There is so much potato that they think you will be happy that there was compensation if the form of extra potatoes. Do you yourself a favor- Go to Josephs II. This place is not worth the money. It's not air conditioned very well in the summer, which makes this multi-grill/fryer grease joint positively suffocating. But the food is relatively inexpensive and homey. If you go there more than three times, they'll remember you forever. That's nice isn't it? Nice restaurant near Brandeis University. Ate here on a Sunday and I was very pleased with the selection (overwhelmingly large menu!), service, portions and quality of the food. I found the prices to be a little high, but the food was delicious and the portions were huge. Totally the best place to get a sandwich in Waltham. Plus, they deliver. Downside: closed Sundays. But regardless, they have about a million different sandwiches and wraps. They have a vast assortment of cold and hot subs and sandwiches as well as the usual sides (onion rings, fries etc.)They also have cute names for the sandwiches too ( like the "South Street") which I found amusing. They also carry a line of breakfast food which can be good if you are craving pancakes at noon instead of a turkey club. You are free to mix and match as well (my boyfriend likes the combination of a sandwich with homefries). It can get pricey though so watch out. They also claim to have free WiFi though I've never brought my laptop to try it out. A good sandwich pick for Waltham if you want a lot of variety. read more

The Scharff Attack is by far the best sandwich in New England. It's tender juiciness makes studying for finals rather enjoyable. It's also a perfect treat for those cold days when you just don't want to get out of bed (they deliver). Good food thats reasonably priced, have tried a lot of their menu and haven't been unsatisfied yet with the food as well as customer service

I ordered the Johnny Special. Unfortunately, there was nothing special about it. A huge sub roll overwhelmed the chunks of cold mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and four spinach leaves (that's right, four tiny spinach leaves on a huge sandwich). Oh, don't forget the spritz of balsamic vinaigrette. I have had a similar sandwich before and expected a yummy sandwich, but was extremely disappointed. Also disappointed that they did not offer another choice of bread; they rushed me while ordering. My friend got fries and they looked pretty good (and gave a lot), but since my sandwich was no good and cost $9, I was thoroughly disappointed. When you're craving breakfast after-hours in Waltham, this seems to be the go-to place. Nostalgic to the NY deli's from home, I can tell you that this place has a very different philosophy of portion size than what I'm accustomed to. I ordered the Western Omelette sandwich, which had very good toppings in it, but very little egg. I highly doubt that even two eggs went into the making of this sandwich. I wish I had just ordered the omelette by itself, which is $2 more expensive but is made with three eggs. Their lox bagels are also astronomically priced at $7.50, I can only imagine the size of it. They did give me a bag of chips with my order, but it's not enough to offset what should have been a three dollar sandwich. read more

Don't do it. They are so rude. I have tried them a few times, because they're just so conveniently located that I really wish it would work out, but never again. One time, they kept forgetting parts of my order. I ordered at 11am, and I finally got the last piece of my order at 4:15pm. Yep, that's right. Obviously I would have preferred a refund, but the "manager" told me it was not possible, and they would send the driver back. 3x. Awful experience. Another time, after submitting via foodler and paying via foodler, they tried to charge more $ to my card saying the options I chose were more $. The options on foodler are in a way where it tells you (+1.50, etc) when things are more expensive. I had actually ordered the same thing twice before with no additional charges or issues. I contacted foodler and got a refund, and a foodler credit. They have awful customer service, and have lost out on a boatload of $ from me, because I am extremely lazy when it comes to cooking and would order from there all the time if my experiences weren't so horrible. read more

I had banana pancakes here while I was waiting for the train with my friend one morning. I prefer it when the bananas are mixed in with the batter and cooked rather than pouring the batter and just slicing the bananas on top, which is what the Prime Deli does. I know the Prime Deli doesn't specialize in the banana pancakes and my friend is obsessed with their sandwiches and salads so I know they must have some credibility. When I got home with the piece of fish I had just bought, I called the owners to report about it. What was worse than the bad fish was the owner's defensive and unapologetic response. Actually, what was worse was how they yelled at me, accusing me of "doing something" to the fish that I had bought, just minutes before. This is a consistently decent place. I've never had an outstanding meal here (it's just not their thing), but I've NEVER had a bad meal here either. You get really big portions for a very decent price. I ordered their chicken caesar roll-up and it was quite good. They always give you a bunch of fries, and the chicken parm sandwich is good too. Prime deli has about 100 sandwich options, all with unique non-sensical names. On paper the sandwiches look tasty, but on the plate they are too greasy. I've ordered a few times and encountered this.On the other hand I've heard they have good breakfast but I have never tried it myself. Although I have tried their salads and they are not that great either. Maybe if the chef tried to simplify the menu they could make fresher, tastier sandwiches and salads. read more

The employees are really nice, but the prices are a bit much, and the menu choices are a tad odd. The food taste is ok, but it doesn't make you want to really come back. Ok so I tried this place for the first time since its near my new office. First of all the menu is huge! The big turn off is how dirty it is inside. As I sat in a both and looked at the tee shirts hanging on the walls you could see layers of dust. Really thick and disgusting. I ordered a greek wrap which was over $12 with a soda which is pricey. food was Ok but the place being so dirty was a big turn off. Will not be returning again. read more

First time order and delivery. Had better but have had much worse. Got a large pizza. It did its job. A little on the greasy side with a lot of cheese so it tended to slide off the crust when you pulled a slice out. For some people that is a must. Slices folded nicely. I liked the sauce. I order from this place quite a bit, my office is right down the street. Good food to order from, the sandwiches (I just finished the Tom Brady wrap) was great. The sammies and wraps are always great. The fries that it comes with, on the other hand, pretty much suck. They are usually luke warm by the time I get them and they don't have any seasoning.
