Had the ahi tuna bowl. Its' got seared tuna on top of a bed of sautéed or boiled (unsure) spinach, bell peppers. IT was SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD. A great place for low carb diets, and all the other type of diets and healthy streak people are on. Yeah yeah, it's a lifestyle change. I heard it a million times. Price is a bit steep IMHO, but, what a great place to nourish your body. The service was amazing. I am leaving four stars for now, as I have only had 1 item from here. I've been here a few times and I usually like going once every few months after a work out at LVAC. There's a variety on the menu such as breakfast items, wraps, burgers, salads, and bowls. My favorite is the The Steak Lovers Bowl and I usually get that. I've also tried the Turkey Bowl as well and it's pretty good. I would say the food here is healthy, fresh and great after a work out or if you're around the area. It definitely fills me up. You can order and sit down or do to-go if you wanted to. I usually just dine in. They also have an outside area to dine at; it'll be nice in the spring time to eat out there. They also take time to cook your food though, so be prepared to wait about 15-20 minutes before your food comes out. The price here is more towards the pricey side ($12-15) depending on what you order, however I think it's worth it! Overall, I love this place and will be back! read more

Huge menu. All proteins Super lean. Great choices for my vegan weekends. Staff is well trained and understands how to compound menu with workouts. I have the Bison and Elk bowl there now. Better than Greens and Proteins up the street. read more

I like this place. It mostly healthy and yummy. The waffles in the twin towers were very yummy. The jam was the best. Loved the little crunchy seeds in it. I could probably take some of it home and spread it on my toast. The turkey sausage was very seasoned and a little bit salty for my taste. Next time I come back, I'm coming for a whole wheat waffle on its own or a different waffle sandwich. The French toast is good too, but not my fav compared to the waffle. The bread tasted very whole wheat which is good but it's kind of like Dave's Killer bread which isn't my personal favorite bread. Loved that there is outdoor seating and calories listed on the menu. When I was leaving GQ Cleaners (see my review), out of the corner of my eye I spotted The Protein Source (about 3 storefronts down) and decided to check them out. In that plaza, there were about 3 other establishments that offered similar healthy fare, yet all I wanted was a protein shake. Their menu was impressive, and so I settled in on the Hawaii. (Banana, Strawberries, Pineapple, Vanilla Whey Protein and Coconut Water) It was filling, and balanced, even though it had 360 calories in it. It did have 23g of protein and a whopping 69g of carbs. It would have been a great post-workout shake...but...uh...I hadn't worked out. LOL. Good thing it was gluten-free...uh...I guess. Nothing much to see here, but there is likely something here that most people who are on a paleo or gluten free diet. Not too bad. read more

I had been wanting to come here for awhile to get my healthy eats on. Finally made that happen. I love their wide selection of food & drink options. Since I came w/ several people we decided to try a lot of food. Protein waffle tower (One Whole Wheat Multi-Grain Protein Waffle Served w/Egg Whites or Whole Eggs, Turkey Sausage, Cheddar Cheese, Jalapeño Berry Jam, Sugar Free Syrup or Agave Nectar) - I love me some waffles, but sadly this wasn't up to par in my standards. The flavors didn't mesh well IMO. I ordered this, but only had a few bites. Chocolate Chip Protein Pancakes (Whole Wheat Multigrain Chocolate Chip Protein Pancakes w/Topped w/Nutella Chocolate Chips, Protein Powdered Sugar and a Side of Sugar Free Syrup) - Probably the worst thing that is good for you on the menu. Everyone finished this shared plate. American Muscle Bowl (100% Pure American Bison, Sweet Potato Hash, Source Veggie Mix (Broccoli Red and Green Bell Peppers, Yellow Squash and Zucchini), Topped w/Avocado and House Stevia BBQ Sauce) - This was another winner due to all the flavors that you get from this meal. Ahi Protein Poke (Hawaiian Style Wild Caught Ahi Tuna Mixed w/Avocado, Green and Red Bell Peppers, Pineapple, Cilantro, Red Onion, Sesame Seed Oil and Sriracha Served Over House Made Agave Teriyaki Sauce) - these were def a hit w/ our group. Salmon Salad Shooters (Fresh Cucumber Shots Topped w/Cooked Chilled Wild Caught Atlantic Salmon Tossed w/Yogurt, Tomatoes, Chopped Cucumbers, Red Onions and Lemon, Served w/a Side of Dijon Mustard and Cilantro Pesto) - yet another item that was a hit w/ our group. Tropical Green ("Blended" Spinach, Kale, Mango, Pineapple & Banana) - SO GOOD! Beetphrodisac (Beet, Orange, Carrot, Lemon and Ginger) - Not my fav, but it wasn't what I ordered. Green House (Kale, Spinach, Apple, Cucumber and Lemon) - Refreshing W/ so many options to choose from you could come here every day for a month & still not have the same thing. Ok I'm genuinely upset with this place because I saw / see the potential but it misses the target. Hear me out. The chicken chili caught my eye on the menu. But it was much, much, too watery. And it's a shame, because the chicken was super super tender, very tasty, with no fat, trimmed perfectly. The chicken was perfect in the chili. But again, the base of the chili was terrible, it came across as just all water mixed with diced tomatoes and black beans. Need to thicken it up and give it a more robust chili texture and some more ingredients to thicken it up. I got the salmon wrap. The salmon stunk so bad inside the wrap that the other customers where actually looking at us and you could tell they were disturbed. Salmon if and when cooked properly does not smell like that! It stunk so bad, that I asked for a To-Go box, wrapped it up, ran out of the place, got in my car, and dumped it behind a 7-11 where I've seemed a few stray cats. I know I'm nuts, but I'm not crazy enough to eat salmon that smells as horrible as it did to feel the need to be polite to strangers inside the establishment with me and to run out and get fresh air myself. The salmon stunk! I also had a smoothie. It wasn't as good as other places, bland if anything. I feel bad, I wanted to like this place, and the potential is there, but it just wasn't a good first experience. I hope for their sake, they fix their chili, learn how to order, store and cook salmon so it doesn't stink like that, and perhaps put more flavor and sweetness into the smoothie I ordered. I have heard about The Protein Source Restaurant from few different friends at work, apparently are well known in town for serving real wild caught and free range meets, from fresh and made to order healthy food so I decided to drive 10miles to give them a try. My expierence was amazing. Cashier person welcomed me from the second I stepped inside the restaurant, the place look clean and very modern. My first order was a safe one their Southwest Salad. I was expecting the normal small flavorless salad. Well guys I have to tell you the salad was a bomb .The base was a fresh salad mix ( romaine, kale, spinach, carrots and i think purple cabbage) topped with black and white beans ,sweet corn, cherry tomatoes, cheddar cheese , Avocado and a flavorful tender 6 oz chicken breast. The sauce I had with it was a house made fresh salsa. The combination of flavors , the freshness and the look of this plate deserved a 5 star review. I have finished my meal with a double shot Illy espresso and then I went to train at LVAC located in the same parking lot. My workout was an amazing success too you can clearly feel the nutrients from the fresh food I had as a preworkout. Thank you for the amazing customer service as well. I would recommed this place to my friends and also I will definetly be back regularly. read more

If I could give no stars I would, I used to come here awhile ago and everything was fine. Now it's definitely changed, today I went around lunch time so as usual it was busy, witch is fine. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl and there was a price change, prices had gone up. Still not an issue, what really got to me was how long it took the food to come out, the cook in the back was on his phone the whole time, while cooking. I didn't see him wash his hands once when he got off the phone, nor did I see him have a single pair of gloves on. The table was dirty while I sat and waited for my food, there was a bug crawling around and a few flys in the air. So I was glad that I told them my food was to go. I washed my hands in the bathroom witch had an awful odor to it, witch was brought to my attention because thinking back on it, every time I used to come here and it always had a stench to the restaurant. I thought maybe I had walked behind someone who used it before me, but this isn't the case, it always has a smell to the whole restaurant. I walked outside and continued waiting for my food and instantly stepped in some sauce witch left a trail down the street, my guess someone was taking the trash out and drugged it down the street. Being disgusted at this point as I was about to say something as I walked back into the restaurant, my food was ready so I just grabbed my bag and left instantly. I advise everyone to not come to this restaurant, it's disgusting and very unprofessional. read more

Today's spot for lunch is the new health spot called the Protein Source Restaurant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Based on the reviews I have seen about them from my fellows Ellite Yelpers and after a quick sneak peak around their social media I finally decided to give them a try. "The Protein Source"- a very daring name for a restaurant considering the expectation you would have from a place who's considering them self the main source of Protein in the restaurant industry. Well ... they nailed it and they did live for it, this afternoon I had their Steak Bowl. An amazing combination in between fresh tenderloin Steak cut, fresh veggies over a base of brown rice topped with avocado and paired with a house made sauce. A healthy plate full of flavor. All of this made to order from fresh in less then 9min at a busy lunch time ...you just can't ask for more. The customer service was spotless. When I walked into the place was a line at the register but that didn't stop the cashier to notice me with a smile. I have been attended in less then 5 min and have been able to sit down. The restaurant was very clean with a very modern European style to it. One thing that gave me the confidence not to be worried about my food was all of the people wearing scrubs. If people in the medical field eat here at lunch that means food should be good enough for me too :)) I would recomended this spot and for sure I will l be back again. read more

I have been meaning to review this small yet delicious yet healthy restaurant. I have been coming here with my fiancé for at least 5 months since we moved here from Texas and we are completely enamored by it. I come here at least once a week and I have never been disappointed by the food much less the staff they always have a way to welcome you with the warm smile (even though they are covered by the masks.) hehe, they make sure that they make you feel like our time is worth as much to them as it is to oneself. I really like how they keep all the safety guidelines more now that we are going through this difficult time. I went today midday and like always the staff was very friendly me even though I am very picky eater the staff made sure that my drink and my wrap were made to perfection and the way I asked. I really love and would strongly recommend the Turkey wrap it is AMAZING. Also I love the peanut butter balls they are legitimately DELICIOUS. This is really my GO-TO healthy place and I am sure it will be for many more years to come. Thank you ladies you made my experience very memorable and comfortable. - THANK YOU!!! Let me first start by saying that I am not bashing the negative words said on this site towards Protein Source Restaurant. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. What I have noticed about the typical comments is that everyone complains about the portion size and bland food. What I think this business is trying to show people is maybe Americans eat way too much unhealthy food full of unnecessary calorie dense ingredients. I have met the owners of this business and have become close with them and I'm not being bissued because of this but I think they are trying to show they're customers the right way to eat. I personally enjoy their food, they have opened my eyes with the enormous options to healthy eating. I have always tried to eat as healthy as possible. When I went to the restaurant I figured it would be like any health food store or restaurant with bland tasting food that would require condiments to save my pallot. Instead everything I have tried has blown me away! To even have their own handmade condiments to add more flavor and not the added sugar or calories made for an even more enjoyable dish. I have decided to make this Yelp account to express my opinion on this application because I thought that I should bring this to the attention of the owner and or general manager of this diner . First of all I want to let you guys that the the food is completely amazing, the cooks are wonderful and they make sure the food is cooked to perfection. I had gone to dinner today around almost closing time... first of all I completely understand that the employees are tired and ready to go home but there is no reason for the employees to be so rude. The gentleman was perfectly fine he was welcoming but the young lady that was making shakes was very rude she seemed like making the drinks were a hassle to her. She kept looking very annoyed. It completely made my experience very uncomfortable. **And I want to clarify that I am completely willing to give this place another shot and to rewrite my review but I just want to bring this to the attention of the owner or whoever runs diner. read more

Sad to say this business went through a management & ownership change. The service is terrible.. the food quality is awful now. The protein source vibe that once was, is no longer there. :( Most of their staff don't know what is what. Acai blenders have been broken/down. The place is never clean, tables filled with trash. The front can barely speak/hear properly to understand what your ordering. This visit both Protein smoothies weren't even blended!! Disgusting! The last time I called in a order to be delivered I asked for a açaí bowl... I received a tuna bowl... they told me to BRING IT BACK .. I did & got there they told me to keep it... and didn't even refund me the price difference or the meal! I've given this new ownership & employees 3 chances to redeem themselves and I have to say I won't be coming back. I hope they get it together, because the business that once was popping is definitely dying. Sad! $55 !!!! read more

This place is amazing!!! I swear the staff is the best I have had in a while the cashier takes her time to listen to you and explain all that the menu has. I love how they listened to my dietary needs and they hit right on the spot on what I needed, let me tell you this the food was cooked to perfection and it was delicious. I am telling you these girls made my morning with there bright attitudes... I wish I would have asked for these girls names because I was would give them the shout out they deserve. The food here is incredible every time. There's such a great variety of dishes that you never get tired of coming back. Everything feels fresh, thoughtful, and consistently well done. The team is always kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming--they make the entire experience feel effortless and enjoyable. It's honestly hard to find places that offer truly healthy food when eating out, but here I always leave feeling nourished and energized. Tuesday mornings there's this young dude with curly hair here that looks at you like he wants to kill you lol. I really thought the customer service was some of the worst I've experienced. Extremely unfriendly:( bad vibes... The shakes, however, are really good and cheaper than greens and proteins right next door. I would still choose GREENS AND PROTEINS over this place because I'd rather pay for a shake that is a couple more dollars with friendly and kind employees with good customer service. My name is Amber, I ate a very good vegan bowl yesterday with a side of ground turkey with a fresh juice, my daughter had the salmon bowl with grilled pineapples on top which was so cute too! I actually really like this place, surprisingly because I don't eat a lot of protein. But, they have so many healthy options! Las Vegas definitely needs more of this. I came here after fasting and their food kept me from brain fog, gave me energy. I train 6 days a week and I run a digital system so I am very careful with the foods that I eat to prevent fatigue. This location is just spectacular. Easy to get to and right next to the biggest gym in the area (LVAC Flamingo). I love the modern looking their patio and the energy of the staff. Those are things customers should never have to witness. I understand that restaurants can have an off day, but this wasn't just one mistake. It was a series of issues involving food quality, order accuracy, inventory, and sanitation. Unfortunately, I won't be returning unless major improvements are made.

The nachos were basic, with chips that tasted like they came straight from a bulk supplier and dry, flavorless meat. Nothing about them stood out. It honestly felt like something you would throw together at home in a pinch. The sandwich was not any better. The pork was dry and lacked seasoning, and the addition of wilted, overcooked spinach gave it an unpleasant aftertaste. Overall, there was no flavor, no creativity, and nothing memorable about it. What stood out most was the lack of care. Nothing about the experience, from the atmosphere to the service to the food, felt like there was any pride behind it. While we were there, another couple came in and we overheard the same employee telling them that even more items were unavailable. You order and pay at a counter and they will bring you your food when it is prepared...on real plates if you are eating in! Today I had a Caesar salad and asked for two over-hard fried eggs on top. I find that an incredibly value for the portion size and quality. They have indoor and outdoor seating (with covered umbellas when sunny if you wish) and the ambiance is casual and easy. Although I am failing to know any of the names of the staff, everyone is always so nice, welcoming, kind and proud of their "little engine that could" establishment.
