The Rackhouse was a pleasant surprise. Although family friendly it has a very clean upscale bar like atmosphere, with nice views of the lake and a nice patio for warm weather. Plenty of Tvs to view sporting events. Wait staff was friendly. The biggest surprise was the food. I got the chicken fried steak. It was truly TEXAS SIZED. Tender flavorful and Huge. Will definitely be back. Congrats on revamping this Colony restaurant. read more

First time here since they changed into this new spot and it's definitely much better than whatever restaurant it was before. The atmosphere is great and staff is wonderful! Our waitress was really nice and so was the bartender. We actually got pretty full on the buffalo chicken dip so we had some left overs but food was good. Really loved the dip! Haven't made it here in a while and the hubby and I were craving steak without the high dollar steak house price. We both got the Ribeye and Wow they were great! And we had a fantastic waitress who gave us great service (much improved service from our previous visits). And we ordered a homemade cheesecake dessert to go - it did NOT disappoint! So good. Our pre-dinner martinis (expresso and vodka with lemon twist) were on point too. The entire place was happening with at least 3 separate large group parties. So many menu choices - they have something for everyone! read more

We decided to try this place out for dinner. We liked they had happy hour till 7pm. The food was good and the drinks were good. Our waitress Marie was awesome and very attentive. It went sour when I reviewed my tab the next day. The waitress said they were out of frozen margaritas and we could get one on the rocks. It was still happy hour and she made it seem like the price was still happy hour $6. Instead we paid $10. If we had been informed the price is not happy hour that is fine and we would not have ordered another drink. Be honest and explain the price instead of fooling us and hoping we don't notice. Be very careful and inspect your bill line by line before you pay. A great night left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

This is such a cool place It doesn't look like much from the parking lot We pulled up midday midweek We opted to eat on the patio as the weather was beautiful The view of the lake is surprisingly breathtaking We had a great waiter but forgot her name My friend is gluten free and she went back to check on menu items. She was able to advise her on menu items that were gluten free. It was a really nice meal. I def will like to visit again at night on one of their live music nights. read more

We went back last night, many months after our first visit, and had a much better experience. They now have a kids meal - score! The kids burger was huge for the price. They don't have a printed menu so it's either verbal or you have to hunt around on the website. I wish they had a coloring sheet kids menu. The spicy chicken sandwich was phenomenal. The nachos were good/different. The fried pickle/jalapenos were so crunchy and served with 3 different sauces. We were seated upstairs which has a nice quiet vibe with 1 giant TV and 2 smaller ones. What a wonderful surprise. After being vacant for several years, the space has been totally renovated and upgraded. The food was delicious. I was originally all set for the Philly but when the waiter told me about jalapeño cream soup I just had to try that. The brisket grilled cheese was toasted perfectly and paired well with the dipping sauce. They have an extensive drink menu with lots of local bourbons and a $30 Old Fashioned that sounds decadent. I think I'll stick to the Happy Hour wine... Live Music on the patio Friday & Saturday nights. I could see Drake Milligan playing in his old stomping grounds to a sold out crowd. Saw this place opened recently and decided to stop by to check it out. Apparently it's only been open for 2 weeks and is still soft opening. Could've fooled me as the menu was large and place was getting some decent traffic!! Ambiance was modern feeling. Very open and cool large outdoor patio. Great view of the lake at sunset and really beautiful. I heard they'll have the 2nd floor open soon... View must be amazing there. Service at the beginning was a bit meh as I don't think we had a waiter/waitress. Flagged down one of them and she was super apologetic and sure took great care of us through the rest of the meal. Food: this is where I felt mixed. Expensive for what it was + Fried cheese was the highlight. Perfect crisp and cheese pulls = Rackhouse salad with salmon was good, but again pricey for what it was - Ribeye was very tender... But almost too soft as I think they over sous vide it. Actually lost the marbling and was almost stringy. Seasoning was a bit light as well. = Sangria was good Overall, cool place with a lot of potential. I don't eat out much because I've been on the carnivore diet for 7 years. My buddy wanted to have the groomsmen dinner here so when I saw that there was an extra party available on the menu I ordered a few and asked for no seasoning and they came out exactly what I asked for. We have ordered "to go" orders before but first time dining in the restaurant. We started with the cauliflower and pickle/jalepeno appetizers. Both were well seasoned and great on taste (didn't get a picture. I ordered the protein plate with salmon. It came with squash side with rice. FIavor was there, cooked just right. Derek was our server and was on point for everything. Ask for him if you visit. The restaurant is family friendly, not too crowded for a Sunday night but really felt like home. My hostess, Mary, was extremely attentive and provided good recommendations on the food and beverages. And regarding the whiskey - their selection was massive. I was actually concerned a bunch of people would be dressed to the nines since it was Devil Wears Prada and I was not changing out of my loungewear for this outing so I was thrilled that the 10p Plano crowd was not "after date" show dressed up, just a totally casual Saturday evening crowd which set me at ease. My boyfriend and I have visited Rackhouse before for brunch and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the service was great, and it left such a positive impression on us that we chose to come back to celebrate our one-year anniversary. We rarely get opportunities to go on dates, so this dinner was very special to us. We specifically hoped to enjoy the outdoor balcony overlooking the lake and watch the sunset together. Unfortunately, our experience started on a disappointing note. When we asked the hostess, Caitlyn, if there was any possibility of being seated outside, we were told quite sternly that the balcony was reserved for parties of four or more and that we could instead sit near the windows. There wasn't much warmth or flexibility in the interaction, and it honestly felt discouraging. Given how romantic and scenic the space is, we found the restriction a bit odd. That said, our waitress was absolutely wonderful kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The dinner menu offered plenty of choices, and our meals arrived beautifully presented and full of flavor. The food itself was excellent. Throughout our meal, we watched the sunset through a window with a shade partially blocking the view while many of the outdoor tables remained empty. We also noticed several balcony tables occupied by only two or three guests, which made the earlier explanation even more confusing. Additionally, we observed the hostess on her phone for much of the evening, which isn't the best look for someone responsible for greeting guests and being available as people arrive. When we closed out our tab, we asked our waitress whether sitting on the balcony would be possible during a future visit. She immediately said yes and seemed genuinely surprised when we explained what we had been told earlier. She was incredibly apologetic and understanding, despite the situation not being her fault whatsoever. The restaurant was also kind enough to reimburse an item on our bill, which we truly appreciated. Overall, the food and service from our waitress were fantastic, but first impressions matter. The people at the front of the restaurant set the tone for the entire evening, especially when guests are celebrating important moments. A warm welcome and clear, consistent communication can make all the difference. If nothing else, being present and attentive to arriving guests goes a long way. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken constructively, because The Rackhouse has so much to offer, and we'd love for future visits to reflect the same hospitality we experienced previously. read more

Food - We started with the nachos which arrived as a colorful mountain of crisp chips, generously layered with smoky brisket and bacon (add on), tangy pickled onions, and a velvety cheese sauce that clung to every bite. The brisket grilled cheese was rich and indulgent (be careful it contains jalapenos). The melty cheddar oozed between buttery, golden-brown toast, with tender brisket adding a deep, savory punch. The fact they have 4+ stars is surprising because our experience tonight was absolutely terrible. Took 10 minutes just for a waitress to come over, on a somewhat busy Friday night. She should not be a waitress, she needs to attend middle and high school again. Forgot pretty much everything we ordered. The avacado shrimp was utterly disgusting with cold rock shrimp. Old fashioned was good.. no ice which was odd. Paloma literally tasted like drinking salsa. Took 10 more minutes after that to get the check after complaining, still spent $92 somehow before even ordering entrees. And took nothing off. Cherry on top: after she noticed our displeasure she offered us shots instead of just comping the terrible food/drinks and said "yea Friday's and Saturdays are not a good time to come here because we're understaffed and have new chefs".. great job y'all. The space was stunning and created the perfect atmosphere for celebrating such a special milestone. Kelly, the manager, was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and made everything so easy. Setup was quick, teardown was just as smooth, and the entire event flowed seamlessly. I look forward to getting to use the virtual golf bay sometime, we are just usually on more of a time crunch. The bar makes a great mule. The place has a "hang out" vibe- to me that means tvs to watch, activities while you socialize and have drinks, a well rounded selection of shareable appetizers for if you're just having a few from the bar and playing cornhole. The decor is perfect for the theme and it feels a masculine version of sophisticated and relaxed at the same time.

I will return but the crickets in there system need correction. I unfortunately have to add to this review, we were told by the employees that they were closing at 9:30, so we left out at that time to be considerate. At this time 3 young men walk in and the have not closed, and we felt rushed. It is now 9:37 and customers are at the bar and now going to play.
