Came here around end of January/February. They have a great lunch special. Everything I had was tasty. Food came out together for our large party. Service was good. I've been here for brunch, dinner and now lunch. The food is fresh and delicious. I've had meatloaf, apps, Cobb salad and pancake/egg brunch. $25 bottle of champagne for mimosas made for a special brunch experience. Hubby loves the incomparable list of whiskies. The service is not only extremely attentive and efficient, the serving staff is super friendly. The patio has canopy shades and fans and comfortable seating. The inside is elegant yet casual. Really wanted to like this place. I was excited about the reviews on Yelp and the food looked good. My husband and I were in town for our anniversary and gave it a try. Let's start with the view from the patio, it was amazing. We ate inside but had a view. The patio by the way looked great, they had the misting fans and a great view. The drinks and food, however, was a let down. I ordered the tropical paradise my husband ordered the buffalo old fashion. My drink was ok but my husband thought his was the worse he has had; he gets one at every resturant we eat at. Then there was the food. My husband had the chicken fried steak with potatoes and mac & cheese. While the steak was big it was not well seasoned. The mac wasnt cheesy and the potatoes while of only had a hint of the garlic they were supposed to have. I ordered a smash burger with cheddar and bacon. The veggies on the burger were fresh and crisp,and overall wasnt a bad burger just pretty bland. However, it was a good size and very filling I just wish they wld have added at least salt and pepper to the patties. read more

Service was extremely slow and waiter was not attentive. They call themselves a whiskey bar, but half of what they have is not on the menu and the staff was not knowledgeable on the bourbon. Definitely need better training. Finally got a neat pour and it came in a regular glass that was chipped! Glad I caught it before I cut myself! Manager did not even offer to comp anything! I've been here a couple of times right after it opened. Robert (owner) was there and spent 10 minutes chatting with us at the bar. They renovated the space, it's much more open and inviting. Went to The Rackhouse for the 1st time to have lunch today and must say I had an amazing experience. Stephanie was the bartender and made some food suggestion, which everything sounded good so didn't make it an easy choice. Went with the Spicy Chicken Sandwhich, Went for a stroll to check out the layout while waiting for food and it looks amazing throughout. The upstairs patio was hands down breathtaking. Went back down to the bar for my lunch and beers and plenty of laughs having conversations with Stephanie and patrons. Stephanie was definitely a class act, badass which also made the experience extra enjoyable. Will definitely be going back to have some laughs with her and to continue trying the other menu options that caught my eye and stomachs attention. read more

Just want to start off by saying I'm really looking forward to coming back. The building was a restaurant in the past but seems to have been redone. The building style itself is different than any other and front door is on the far right of the building which is a different but I really liked the ambience inside. Felt rustic modern, if that's a thing. We sat at the bar which I uncharacteristically chose. I'm a bit wider and the chairs fit me great and most importantly, there was a foot rest so you don't have to tuck your feet under your chairs. Not sure why this is so hard for bars to figure out but Rackhouse nailed it. I had the Black Forrest jam sandwich. It was EXCELLENT, great flavors, bread was toasted perfectly and it came out really hot and fresh. Honestly the star of the dinner was the fries. You can't find double fried fries worth a dang in DFW and these were perfect. If everything else was terrible you'd still come for the fries. That's the good part. The wife had the tenders and fries. You can see in the pic that they looked terribly overdone. And they were in fact not hot and pretty dry. They tasted as though the fry oil was not properly rotated. Older oil adds a specific taste which can be masked with sauces, but not plain breaded tenders. Unfortunately her fries were so cold they had to be sent back. Totally the opposite of mine but they made it right w fresh ones. Should have said something about the tenders but 1 complaint is enough . The bartender, whose name I didn't catch was great, friendly, informative, attentive even while busy. Couldn't ask for better service. Next time will likely get the 'Powerhouse plate' with salmon. One went by and it looked bububububomb. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. We walked into a nearly empty restaurant at 2 in the afternoon, were asked if we had reservations , told it would be a 15 minute wait because while there was a table it wasn't bussed. 20 minutes later.... Still waiting... there are 6 tables that have not been bussed since we arrived. Manager, buss boy, and other staff just standing around chatting. We visited on a nice Friday evening, opting for the patio with heaters and live music. The entertainment was great; not too over-bearing and the song selections appropriate for the ambiance. The food was solid. We ordered the meatloaf, fried pickles, and venison chili. The portions are hearty so we easily shared our meal with some leftovers to spare. The service was prompt and attentive. There was a nice view of lake Lewisville if you dined outside on the patio. We opted to stay inside. For starters we ordered the fried pickles and fried jalapeno slices. I am very particular about my fried pickles and This place made it perfect! Nice crisp not soggy and perfectly cooked to perfection! For the price you get a lot of food. I would recommend this for at least 3 people to share! lol This does not disappoint! We were actually super full off it. :) One note I want to add is that if you order the sweet tea be warned it is super duper sweet! I would suggest half and half. Don't say I didn't warn you. Also a BIG SHOUTOUT TO MARIAH AND MIMI! It was Mariah's first day and she was super friendly and very accommodating and attentive! Mimi that was training her was also very helpful friendly and accommodating as we kept asking for new orders of tea due to them being so sweet! I hope the owner sees this and acknowledges them for doing a great job! I'm big on customer service and those ladies are the epitome of it! Onto the food I didn't get pictures of our food but my mom ordered chicken fried steak mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. I ordered the Jameson Irish Garlic chicken with linguini. There are two options. Linguini or mashed potatoes. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the chicken was not flavorful. It was bland. The dish was ok not great. My mom's review of hers is that the mixed vegetables were very peppery. Overall we enjoyed our lunch and the ambience and great customer Service! I Plan on coming back. The ambiance was nice. We sat outside with a very nice view. Great having the overhead tarps and fans on a hot day. Great selection of beers. The menu was huge! Everyone ordered different items. The opinion of the food amongst us (7 adults) was just so so. Everyone thought the food was OVER salted, especially the fries!! Some items like just steamed vegetables were spicy, why? One sandwich had burnt bread! It would be awesome if the management and chefs took these notes to heart and made some tweaks in their food! They need to taste and look at what they're sending out! I love this place so much , I moved to the colony and this has quickly become my favorite date night restaurant. All the servers are great. Ally is our favorite. I can say all of the food is made with love and 10/10 on chicken tenders, chicken fried chicken, the buffalo chicken sandwich, buffalo Chicken dip, fried pickles and jalepenos. The cheese steak is good but lacking when compared to I'd call a real Philly sandwich. It also lacks meat. The fried pickles/ jalapeño were good but the jalapeños were very mild and tasteless. I'd have preferred just the pickles. Our waitress was awesome and made the experience nice. My wife had the nachos if you can call them that. It was chips with tons of sauce of a few types squirted all over it. But it lacked cheese. I mean you had to look for the cheese seriously. This place is a meh. If nothing is open I'd go ahead but I'm definitely not making a trip just to go there. read more

I drive past frequently but finally decided to drop in and I'm so glad I did. I sat at the bar and Karlie provided excellent service. Karlie made me fabulous drinks and this Funky Monkey Pina is 10/10. The sunset view is unbeatable and live music on the patio (Friday and Saturday nights) is so enjoyable! We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was a beautiful day. Unfortunately, the patio was full but they rolled up the big doors and sitting inside was still nice. On Sundays, they have a brunch menu as well as the regular menu. We all ordered sandwiches off the regular menu. The sandwiches & burgers are large and very good. We had one person in our party with some dietary restrictions. They were happy to make a meal that worked within those guidelines. Everyone was very happy with their food. The restaurant is very nice and the view is great! The only issue was the service was a bit slow. We had to keep looking for our waiter. I can proudly say I represent those whom love burgers. I can also say that this spot has a phenomenal atmosphere that can't be beat in the Colony area thus far. Having IBS... I need access y'all. I'll piss in a shared urinal before desiring to wait on someone to drop a fat one. I need it. Anyways..... another .1 off for lettuce, tomatoes and mushrooms being priced .50 for add on. They are so different, but I love how cheep and yummy my shrooms were so don't change that! Another .1 off for my beer being $8.... I know it's more than a pint but it's shiner. Do I think shiner is the best beer on earth... unfortunately I do and that's why I am saying this. Don't California my Texas with these beer prices. I don't need a fancy IPA or some other beer and honestly I don't really drink beer so just ignore that. Haha that's why I am not actually going to take .1 off. As you can see reading this, I have consumed my shiner and a delightful whiskey with my wife back at the house. I also complain about long reviews but here I am. If you have read this much you are a saint. Just come to this establishment and know you can be a snob but you will leave happy. read more
