Came here per the recommendation of a friend who lives in Santa Fe and LOVES BBQ...and well. I see why. Though not in the ideal location of visiting, ranch house is a must if you're wanting to try some solid BBQ and need a vaca the "traditional" NM flavors (though I don't really know who would). Anyhoo, delicious food with a charming interior. Staff wise nothing to go crazy for, not overly amazing but also did their job exactly as needed (what more can one ask for?). I had the steak and shrimp plate which was good but steak did t have much flavor. Shrimp on the other hand was really good. My husband had the chicken avocado sandwich which was just ok. The interior has a steakhouse feel with a full bar and a cocktail menu with reasonable prices. I had a spiced sangria and the hubby had a manhattan, each $10. A variety of selections between $12-$20 that all looked amazing. I settled on green chili enchiladas with brisket and BBQ beans and hubby had Ranch House Platter. Both were delicious, large portions and we took home half. For what we ate and drank, our bill was $77, which is reasonable in this day and age. A $20 tip for friendly, knowledgeable bar service. Drove in from telluride, winter storm warning, stressed to say the least. We got to our hotel and just wanted to vibe but obviously.... Our stomachs had other plans. Yelped up the ranch house- astonished by the reviews and hoping to order some to-go food. Let me just say, it was fire. We got the bbq shrimp pasta and naturally sourced 6oz sirloin WITH a baked potato (of course). Plus a side of cornbread and a mf cheesecake. They all were sent home to us safe and sound and delicious. I had to stop mid bite to write this review. Anyways such a success story. Yesterday was father's day and we went to the place we have not been in a long time, The Ranch House. This was a great idea and a wonderful way to celebrate father's day. My son and I have always been big fans of the Ranch House and yesterday was no exception. Service was excellent! friendly and always checking on us. Food was delicious as always. Starting with the Mango Chile wings and then on to the main course. My son had the top sirloin which he loved with the crispy onions on top. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly. For a BBQ place I expected more napkins since you usually get sauce everywhere but you have to ask for extra. Just happened on this place for lunch while driving around Santa Fe during a visit. There were lots of cars (always a good sign). Wait was only about ten minutes. Both my husband and I ordered off the lunch menu. I had the chicken pasta with the sour dough bread. Excellent choice. Not spicy, but beautifully seasoned! My husband had a grilled pepper jack cheese with pulled pork, green chiles and onion, together with a cup of tomato soup. I had to sample his, as well! It was so good!!! On balance I would consider this place as "not bad" to eat at. The host was very friendly, kind, and professional. The food and service was sub par. The artichoke spinach dip and chips were great. My buffalo burger was over cooked. Buffalo is too lean to over cook! The sweet potato fries that were supposed to come out with my burger came late and were under cooked. Both the chicken and the mac & cheese my life partner ordered were dry. My glass of ice tea was empty for a long time despite having several empty tables in our section. Our waitperson never asked how our food was.
