I mean absolutely HORRIBLE!!! my family and I waited for 40 mins to get a seat after we informed the person at the front that my son is in a wheelchair and he said it is not problem with seating for our situation I told them I don't think is is wise to block an isle in case of emergency but once again the said not a problem.. well 40 minutes now we have an issue, magically now they can't block an isle and we will have to wait longer. Started here at 7:30 am on a Sunday morning with my bandmates for some coffee and a bite. Glad we did! I'm vegan but I wasn't expecting many vegan options. I had dry toast and a fruit bowl and was satisfied. (I always kinda wish I could convince every restaurant to offer at least some type of steamed vegetables though.) Everyone else had big old American style breakfasts and were completely satisfied! Coffee was okay but it kept coming. Big fan of that ! The food was cheap and the staff was really wonderful! Great work! BUT... just because the food is cheap, this is yet another reason to get rid of the whole archaic percentage tipping thing. Even 20% would be like a nickel! Gets crowded for breakfast so come early! My bf and I stopped by around 10am and for a table of 2, we waited about 10-15 minutes. However, as we were eating, a ton of people were waiting for a table! I got the Ortega supreme omelet, with hash browns and banana bread. The omelet was pretty good! Nice, fluffy eggs, it had a a good filling of ortega chili and sausages, while covered in a nice salsa and sour cream. Not too heavy either, so you don't feel disgustingly full after eating it all. I think it could have used some more spice, but still good nonetheless. Hash browns weren't bad, comparable to other places. My mom loves breakfast food and I only really eat breakfast to take her out and stuff. After much yelping, I cane across this place and it's just a tiny little diner and r's great. We got there during prime breakfast time and there was a wait. It wasn't too bad, about 10 minutes. Our server was very friendly and sweet, she kept checking up with us and we never once had to ask for a refill & she let us know what we were having with each platter. The prices are pretty cheap for a good portion of food and the food is pretty good. I'm definitely not a fan of restaurant eggs but I have no complaints about these, really good, perfectly made. I know some people are put off by servers checking on them too often, but I like it as it shows attentiveness on their part. First time here, came for breakfast on Easter Sunday. Plenty of free oarking behind the restaurant. Crowded but we were seated in five minutes. Our waitress was fantastic, friendly and kept our coffees and our Waters refilled. I had the eggs (scrambled), bacon (perfectly crispy as ordered) with the strawberry crepes (yummy). I had some of the banana bread (their specialty) and it was super moist and delicious. Very reasonable prices. More than 30 miles from home but we'll be back another day and try other things from the menu. read more

Food is usually delicious, but the issue I have is with management, or specifically the people who answer the phone for take out orders. I called the restaurant one weekday morning (to avoid their typical busy weekend morning) to make an order for take out. The woman who answered said their system was down so they can't take orders. I told her I was aware they were only taking cash at this time and that we have cash ready to pay when we pick up the food. She insisted that we just walk-in and make the order and wait. I did not understand why she couldn't just WRITE DOWN THE ORDER for the kitchen. Not sure how their system being down has anything to do with placing the order. We reluctantly sent a driver to place our order AT the restaurant, and wait. Once there, the driver was asked why we didn't call in our order, since there were 10 orders ahead of ours and the wait will be up to 30 minutes. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? Please make up your mind how/if you're going to take orders over the phone for take-out. We specifically attempted to call in the order to avoid having our driver WAIT THERE unnecessarily. This was absolutely ridiculous. Please get it together. We were so disappointed with how this was handled. P.S. Food is great though. read more

Went on a Monday morning and the place was packed by maybe a twenty-minute wait. What's noteworthy is how, despite so many people, the staff is able to maintain efficient service with a smile. The French toast and omelette supreme tasted good but it did not stand out. The fruit was not fresh and I saw some flies hovering inside the restaurant. It was too crowded and noisy but I'm willing to come back, give it another try and hopefully have a better dining experience. read more

Before my updated review, I need to make very clear, THIS HAPPENED TWO YEARS IN A ROW. THATS HOW MUCH THEY DON'T CARE! I can't believe I'm here to change my five star review to one. I've gone to The Reyn for several years to order banana bread for my customers at Christmas. 20 or more loaves. I order two weeks before, then when I call to pick up, or ask a question, the person answering the phone cannot communicate, or understand me, and absolutely won't let you talk to someone else. If you ask for the manager, he will not come to the phone if he is there, and they say your order isn't ready, when it is. So I tried to talk to the owner about it and he was SO RUDE, and clearly didn't care. Left me standing for at least a half hour and no one ever came to the counter so I could pay. I told him it didn't seem like he cared how unprofessional they are every time. He's very condescending. Super disappointing since we try to support small businesses first. He totally could not care less. The smirk on his face was extra professional, you can see where the employees get the rudeness, except for one girl, who tried to help. They ignored her. Cute little diner with a homey feel but the wait was about 30 mins (came in around 1pm with my girlfriends). Bad first impression because the utensils they gave us were dirty with food still stuck on them ugh. The breaded crust was disgusting and the THIN ASS piece of chicken was a dark brown color and honestly looked and tasted like leftover meats. The hashbrowns and scrambled eggs that came with it were average at best. I really expected the chicken to be similar to what I had at dupar's bakery (check out my review on it.. it's another american breakfast spot in pasadena with MUCH MUCH better food than what I had here). Prices are great, food is good, servers are super nice and work really hard, food came out fast, etc. I had the farmers breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes. Everything was good. Girls had chocolate chip mini pancakes with eggs and bacon. Pancakes were a little rubbery, but they didn't complain. This is a good spot for breakfast. Took a star for the rubbery pancakes, the chocolate chips that were an extra 99 cents on the menu but $1.59 on the bill, and it was muggy as shit in there for some reason. read more

Great comfort food. I was introduced by a friend to have breakfast here. I ordered their waffles combo with egg. I absolutely love their crunchy and yet soft waffles. They did this dish just right. Although the service is not as good as I expected but I can't fault the staff as the restaurant is constantly busy. My friend ordered their potato pan cake but that didn't turned to be that tasty.
