The dumplings were the highlight--great texture and flavor, and I'd definitely get them again. The combo box was solid and came with a good amount of food for the price. Service was quick, and our food came out only a few minutes after ordering. I have seen this place all over TikTok and had to try it while in town. It lived up to the hype. As a vegetarian this is the best place because you can sub any entree meat with cauliflower or tofu. Consider this zero stars.. The worst Chinese food I have ever had. The chicken was dried out and looked hacked from left overs. The broth was tasteless! I have been waiting to try this place since I moved to Houston and I am glad I did. My boss decided to buy us lunch and we picked this restaurant and doordashed it. I am a vegetarian and they had many options. I picked the curry rice with cauliflower. First of all the portions were great. It was flavorful, spicy and tasted amazing. I also had hot and sour soup which was amazing too. Everything had so much flavor and I can't wait to try other items. The only thing I would change is maybe cutting up the cauliflower so the pieces are smaller instead of leaving them big and remove the limes. They have fair prices and large portions. The ambiance is also supposedly made to look like the movie Bladerunner which I still haven't got around to seeing so I have to take their word for it. Whoever was the graphics designer who did their animated menu though did a great job. Food also comes out pretty fast. I also like that they give you a togo container if you can't finish everything (which you probably won't). As far as the food goes though I wasn't that impressed. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad if you consider the price and portions, and you're certainly getting your money's worth and you won't go away hungry or upset, but I'm trying to keep it honest here. This was my first visit and I was trying to find something even remotely healthy but every single dish seemed like it was slathered by some sugary sauce: General Tso? sugar/starch wrapped chicken; Sesame Chicken? sugar/starch wrapped chicken; Sweet & Sour chicken? sugar/starch wrapped chicken; Orange Chicken? You get the picture. It seems like every dish was just a small variation of the previous dish which involved soaking a protein in a sugary sauce with a small variation and adding a ton of oil to it and serving it with rice. I went with Kung Pao chicken myself because I thought at least it wouldn't have the fried breading but it was completely submerged in oil/sugar sauce so I just ate the chicken part and threw out the super sweet bath it was in with some peppers ending up as casualty. The chicken was delicious by the way so why not just make it without all the sugar and oil? One of the people in my group had the Beef and Broccoli and they too complained about the same thing. To be fair, they do have Baby Bok Choy so perhaps in the future I'd just get that but I'm not sure you can add a protein to that without getting all the sugar sauce with it. If you can't tell by now, most of my gripe here is with the fact that most of the food here is covered in a sugar sauce. If there was an option to get a more "dry" dish like Kung Pao Chicken with easy sauce, that would make it better IMO. Unrelated to the food, parking kind of sucks here. There are a few spots and it's really cramped and all the Uber eats and doordash drivers double parking so they can pick up orders make it even worse so if you don't find anything there, it's best to just go to McDuffie or E Clay and try to find something on the street. read more

The portions are generous and the price point was appreciated for being about town with friends. I came here with my girlfriend and 3 of her family members on a Friday night around 7pm and it was fairly busy. Finding Parking was a little tricky but we found a spot on 19th only a 2 min walk away. You order right when you get there, so be ready and look at the menu in advance! The menu is displayed on a unique futuristic screen display and they have all the Chinese-American classics! Tons of people were taking pickup orders, so it seems like takeout is more popular at this location. We were quoted a 35-40 min wait for the food to be ready, but it ended up being more like 20 mins. Another reason why I mention takeout is because There is barely any indoor seating - just 6 barstools - but plenty of outdoor seating. The outdoor area is lit in red neon lights giving a late night futuristic-urban vibe. They do not have fans so if it's a hot day beware. I ordered the walnut shrimp with lo mein ($2 upcharge) chicken egg roll (which is included), and the NITRO Thai tea (no refills). Everything was soooo good, and the servings were very large. I took home leftovers to eat the next day, and got two more reals out if it - that's how large my portion was. My walnut honest shrimp had pineapple in it. RICE BOX OR GREASE BOX??? Have you ever been tipsy, hungry, and in need of a quick bite to nibble on because you needed to sober up so that you could drive yourself home? Well, that was me a few nights ago after enjoying Happy Hour at Be More Pacific. What's crazy is that I didn't realize how tipsy and hungry I was until I had already left the restaurant, so I stopped at the nearest food joint on my way home. I searched on my MAPS app for nearby food spots and Rice Box was about five minutes away so I decided to give them a try. If I'm being totally honest, this establishment is expensive for the type of Chinese cuisine that they serve and it's not all that wonderful. They charge an arm and a leg for food that will give you a heart attack. I paid $45 for a box of grease. I ordered fried rice and added shrimp for an additional fee. I also ordered their six jumbo wings which were accompanied with white rice and two chicken egg rolls. The wings were absolutely horrible! The flavor was disgusting. I don't know what kind of marinade they soak them in, but I wasn't feeling it. They tasted old and stale. On top of that, they were burned, full of fat, and had chicken feathers on them. Yuck! I was so turned off by them! The chicken egg rolls were okay, but nothing worth bragging about. They were greasy and tasted like frozen store-bought egg rolls. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the fried rice. Although it was greasy, it was flavorful, possessing a unique rich and savory palate. The blended stir fried flavors of the rice, the bean sprouts, eggs, soy sauce, green onions, and garlic, were all evident, which also contributed to the special unique flavor of the rice. The flavors instantly had me traveling back in time to my childhood when I had my first ever tasting-experience of shrimp fried rice. I will never forget the name of the restaurant. It was called Mac's Fried Rice and it was located on the corner of Erie street near Broadway. I was no more than eight years old. I fell in love instantly with the blended, rich, and savory stir fried flavors of the Chinese cultural cuisine. Overall, my to-go experience was good. Customer service wasn't top-notch service but it was decent. A young lady by the name of Cam assisted me with the ordering process and she was polite and robotic like in her approach, lol. The ambiance of this place is pretty lit and colorful at night. They have a cozy little outside patio dining area, which makes for a great late date night or if you're in search of some greasy food to help you sober up, because you just finished clubbing in the area. Also, for those that partake in that special green herb that puts you in a euphoric, relaxed, and hungry phase, then this type of food is great for that too! I gave them three stars based on the delicious blended flavors of their fried rice because it made me relive a pleasant childhood memory. It was really greasy but that special flavor was ever so present. Although I am aware that restaurants such as this one are known to serve fast and greasy Chinese/American cuisine, I have to blame myself for not ordering food at the other restaurant where I was enjoying Happy Hour. Found this place on TikTok, I came a year ago and wanted to try it again but it wasn't the same, the noodles were dry and had a weird taste to it that wasn't appetizing, the sesame chicken did not taste like the typical sauce they serve at authentic Chinese take out, although the crab Rangoon's were crispy and delicious by far the only taste thing of my meal. I have eaten at a different locations and the one we tried to eat at today, Hedwig village, off of Katy Freeway, wouldn't allow us to customize the dish.
