Scott is amazing!…read more Just a few days before my son's birthday party, I realized I needed more than just cookies. I wanted unique cupcakes instead of the typical grocery store variety. After looking around, the first ones that caught my eye were Kick Ass Cupcakes. Even though it was only a couple of days before the party, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. The worst he could say was no! Not only did Scott say yes, but he made it happen. He created two dozen beautiful cupcakes in four incredible flavors: Orange Creamsicle, Strawberry Lemonade, Shirley Temple, and Lemon. They were absolutely delicious and a huge hit with both the kids and adults. The cupcakes tasted just as amazing as they looked. I can't wait to order from Scott again and highly recommend Kick Ass Cupcakes for birthdays, celebrations, or any special occasion!

He was totally flexible and ready to bake whatever combination of cupcakes we needed. I took a bit longer than planned to finalize the flavors and quantity (classic busy-parent moment ), but Scott didn't miss a beat. Even with the event date quickly approaching, he graciously moved forward and made the entire process feel easy and stress-free. We ordered 40 cupcakes--10 each of four different flavors--and every single one was outstanding. These Kick-Ass Cupcakes absolutely live up to their name. They were universally loved by everyone, from the birthday girl to every last guest. Thank you so much, Scott, for taking such wonderful care of us. We'll absolutely be back, and recommending you to everyone we know.

It's obvious to me that they spent a lot of time on the branding of the name and concept. 10 stars in my book. The server's were nice and also helpful. I ordered 2 lemon cupcakes and a slice of the lemon poppyseed cake with buttercream frosting on top. $19+ for said items. The server put them into 2 beautiful boxes and a very nice bag. "Price 3 stars, boxes 10 stars" SusieCakes does not take cash! "I'm personally not happy about that" I don't want to hear your excuses why you are doing that, I do not and never will like that. That alone is reason enough for me not to go back. I had a slice of the lemon poppyseed cake at room temp per instructions with a glass of milk. I felt like the buttercream tasted like every other buttercream, nothing special. The lemon filling in between the slices was also just ok but the combination of the lemon filling and buttercream made the slice of cake very, very sweet, did I say sweet? I mean way way way too sweet. (And I love sweet) it just ruined the flavor of the cake, as in I could not taste the cake at all. 2 stars The lemon cupcake was better than the lemon poppyseed cake, still very sweet but not like the lemon poppyseed "I could taste the cake a little better but the icing still overwhelmed the flavors of the cake. 3 stars

I most recently ordered cupcakes (vanilla with strawberry filling, banana, and lemon and their fruit tarts) with buttercream frosting. He was able to customize the frosting on the cupcakes to match the baby shower colors and also included edible baby shower toppings (rattles, bottles, baby toys...etc). Lindley is easy to communicate with. From the start of our email communication, he responded in a very timely manner and made the ordering process so easy. On the day of the event, he dropped off the cupcakes and tarts early, which worked out for me and I was able to set up the dessert table with plenty of time. Overall, I had a great experience. I highly recommend him for your events whether they are small or large. I will definitely be ordering from him again for future events.

I guess I missed the note on their website that says you need to order vegan or gluten free cupcakes two days in advance. It was nice that they had red velvet but it seems like it's the go-to choice for most places, which makes it hard not to judge against other cupcakes. It was very good, the cake was moist, and I enjoyed the frosting. But it didn't quite measure up to my favorite vegan red velvet cupcake from Sprinkles. The shop is so cute and there's a good amount of parking. I went on a day when there were two people working, and they were both super nice. I thought the male worker was a bit more helpful, but they were both kind. I'd love to see more than one vegan option on the consistent in-store menu, rather than needing to order ahead.

My Asian tastebuds found 3 of the 4 to be too sweet. Burnt almond: 4.5/5. Moist, not too sweet, great flavor, the crunchiness of the almond mixture coating the frosting was a great touch. Only complaint is that the frosting texture was a touch too oily/buttery and dense, it felt like I was eating a solid chunk of sweetened whipped butter. Taste was great tho. 24 Carrot: 4/5. Perfectly spiced, fluffy frosting complemented the cake perfectly, it was just too sweet for me. Lemon cake with lemon buttercream: 4/5. Lemon flavor was very subtle and mild, could've been stronger. Also: too sweet. Coffee toffee crunch: 4.5/5. Too sweet, but the frosting and crunch were sooo good! Incredible coffee flavor. I would come here again if I needed cupcakes for an event. These were top notch, for American cupcakes.

I filled out the form on their website a couple of weeks before my husband birthday, and noticed that their prices had increased recently. The regular 6" black sesame blueberry hojicha cost $55. Megan responded in email within 2 days as expected. Her payment instructions were very clear, and we agreed to meet at their designated community park at 10am on Sunday. (They would also do delivery with an additional cost.) An hour before our meeting time, she sent a text with the make/model/color of their car, as well as, some dessert care instructions. They arrived on time. The cake was carefully packaged and included a "Happy Birthday" paper topper. The cake was really good. It was fresh and airy; the black sesame taste really stood out; the blueberry jam was delicious and not too sweet; the hojicha fresh cream was light and flavorful. I was standing at the glass for a while before being acknowledged. Someone finally came over, and I asked if the Ube Black Sesame cookie was vegan since the display writing was a bit smudged. The staff member confirmed, so I got that cookie and a Gingersnapperdoodle since I loved it before. I also asked about the Brownie, but did not receive a very helpful reply. My question: Is the brownie very rich? The response: It's like any other brownie. I'm not a fan of chocolate items that are super rich, and some brownies are fudgy, but some are more mild. I'd expect someone working there to be a bit more helpful and descriptive. I ended up not getting a brownie. Lowering my rating because the service was subpar, and the Ube flavor was nonexistent in the Ube Black Sesame cookie. The Gingersnapperdoodle was still yummy like before, but had a more sandy texture than last time.

I am so happy we went there. Entering the spot, it is a welcoming atmosphere. As soon as we entered, we were greeted and the servers were eager to serve. It was our first time so we did ask for recommendations. My wife got a matcha and I got the "A-Aron" for it's popularity and its comedic nostalgia to a Key and Peele skit. We also ordered a few pastries and some breakfast sandwiches. The corner cafe is small but it gives a lot to look at for people like my wife and I. Not only did we leave with food and drink, we picked up some stickers, coffee beans, and lots of photos and ideas. We absolutely enjoyed our time there and the food was amazing. Indeed, the A-aron was a HIT and I look forward to the next time we are in town!

I've recommended this place to so many people, so it's a shame that I'm always disappointed with my orders now. And it also looks poorly on me when the same issues happen to people I've recommended this place to. I always order extra bacon (as did my friend twice now because she gave them a second try based on my (former) love for the place and their sandy's) and whoever makes the sandwiches now (gosh I miss Andrew) either doesn't add the extra bacon, or slathers it in mayo). See images of how they used to look vs how they look now. I've had to send my husband back for extra bacon on more than one occasion and today it's DRIPPING in mayo when I didn't ask for extra mayo. Amazed that this is the new baseline for mayo. They also didn't give us a straw and we are on the go today (seen of image in car), so now I can't drink my drink. Please make your sandwiches good again; I would love to keep being a regular, or even a customer of yours at all still.

They're best known for their famous Burnt Almond Cake, though they also offer a variety of other pastries. Personally, I come here just for the cake. Whenever I'm in the area, I always stop by to pick up a few cakes to bring home for my family, but I can probably eat a whole cake to myself lol. We ended up getting three burnt almond cake slices (2 vanilla 1 chocolate) and some brownies. The brownies were pretty good, balanced sweetness and chocolate flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet and I enjoyed the walnuts, but it was a very fudge like texture and I prefer my brownies to be slightly more cake-y and airy. If you like fudge brownies you'd like these. My issue was the burnt almond cake, both vanilla slices were on the dry side. The chocolate slice had a hint of chocolate otherwise tasted exactly the same. The almonds and cream were fine, I would've preferred stronger almond flavor. Was meh. Price is good at $5 for a hefty slice. If I'm in the area maybe I'd go back, otherwise it was about the same as a Safeway cake slice.
