There is the main seating area and another area in the back to sit down along with sitting outside. It felt upscale and nice. The sign in front of the store had some drink specials and I got a strawberry/matcha drink I think it was called Rose. I asked what was good here and the cashier said the mini almond pastries and other treats in the front. The mini almond pastry was really good and also got a crème brûlée which was really good as well. I would come back again and try their hot teas next time. Delicious treats. Heck, even Paris Baguette would pull whole trays if it didn't fit their quality standard. (But I don't know if that's still true haha.) Given its premium pricing of $8-15 a pastry, I would expect all the qualities that would justify it. They are a step above bakeries who have frozen products, but do not hit the level of premium in quality of pastry. The pastéis de nata was created by the monks in order to survive after the monastery was dissolved. That same recipe is still being used at that shop to this very day. Although I wasn't expecting a replica of the original, I did expect it to capture the core characteristics of a Portuguese egg tart. That said being said, I think the crust isn't bad but the texture of the custard more like a gel than a custard. Also I couldn't really taste any custard flavor.
