We requested a clean out for a backed up line. Camera inspection showed the grease clog. Turned out a previous plumber installed a line incorrectly with incorrect materials and we could see the cause of the back-up was a drop in the piping caused by the incorrect installation. The pipe has hardened in that position. We received a great price to replace the whole pipe so we won't face this problem again in a few years. Our family had an excellent experience with fixing a clogged laundry drain in Anaheim, after two bad experiences with other national plumbing companies. Can vouch Danny is honest, local, and knows what he's doing. My senior citizen parents first called 2 other plumbers first, lured by the discounted valupak offer we received that offered a fix for $50. Both of these plumbers were unprepared and unsuccessful and possibly did some damage to our pipes. They were eager to upsell us on several thousand-dollar solutions. My sense is they were both part of larger private equity companies whose strategy is to advertise heavily by mail and try to force unneeded large repairs. I should have called Danny first. Would have saved hours and a lot of mental worry about these giant potential bills. Here's what I appreciated. He showed up immediately as scheduled, put his shoe covers on immediately at the front door, and proceeded like a real professional. Showing respect to us, our house, and the problem. He laid out a tarp, was mindful of everything in the house, created zero mess, and operated his equipment on a different level than the other plumbers before him. This might be a little specific to our problem, but the first two plumbers couldn't actually operate their snakes properly and ended up going in the wrong direction - oblivious to the fact that they weren't heading towards the clog. Danny operated his equipment carefully, slowly, methodically, and quietly. Within 15 minutes he had actually been able to reach the clog site, remove the impacted material, fix our problem and explain clearly the issue. The other two plumbers we brought in - one quoted a complete tear out costing $4,000 and another wanted to tear out an exterior wall for hydro jetting which would have been $1,700. My conclusion is even for the simpler problems, you have to go with someone trustworthy and competent. Don't trust the coupon companies that send ads each week and need to make up for it with big jobs. Danny was honest and extremely good at his job. TLDR: The Rooter Company, both the management team and the tech teams, came to our rescue twice, and in the most timely and professional manner. As a young woman owning her first house, I've been in situations with other home contractors being dishonest with me about the root cause of an issue, trying to charge me more than they should and/or way more than the original quote, and being generally unpleasant. I was nervous with this particular plumbing issue, but from the moment I got in touch with the Rooter Company, those concerns went out the window. Everyone has been incredibly fair and honest about the cost of work, very friendly and professional, and in no shape or form condescending. They listen to you, help you understand the issue, and work with you to identify the best path forward. In case it helps anyone, I'll share my story details: I bought a new townhouse as it was being built and expressed concerns to the builders about the plumbing (particularly because we knew we'd be sharing a common line within the community). They assured us that we didn't need to inspect anything as it was being constructed, but now, just over a year of getting the keys and moving in, we randomly had sewage backing up into our never-used second story bathroom. At around 2pm on a week day (I work remote), I noticed that ~1 inch deep sewage was suddenly in our shower and wouldn't drain. We tried the plunger method, which didn't work, and were then horrified to realize that any other toilet/shower in our house added to the back up. I frantically called several highly-rated plumbers I found on Yelp, but everyone told me it would take at least 24 hours for someone to help us. I even had some tell me they couldn't give me a quote over the phone, which wasn't exactly a surprise, but was still disappointing. Thankfully, I found the Rooter Company - Chris immediately answered, listened to the problem, asked insightful questions, and offered a timely tech team response along with a very fair quote. Within a few hours, we had a team out. I got a text ahead of time with the tech's name, letting me know they were en route. Tristyn and his assistant were both friendly, but the first thing he told me after hearing the details of the issue was that they may not have all the necessary tools and snake sizes to actually fix the issue. I appreciated the honesty, but was very nervous as they went to inspect the shower/drain. I had given the same details to Chris over the phone hours before and was confused/concerned as to why Tristyn wouldn't have what he may need. Ultimately, the drain was cleared (and for the price I was quoted over the phone!), so I was very happy and relieved at the service I received. A week later, we came home around 9pm on Christmas evening to find evidence in the same shower that sewage had been backed up and drained. While this was better than the first time (remember that 1 inch deep sewage that wouldn't drain at all?), I was deeply concerned. We've always been very careful about what we do/don't put into our drains, and since that first blockage/visit a week ago, we've been HYPER careful, borderline paranoid. So we ran upstairs and did a test toilet flush; I was mortified to see water coming up from that same second story shower. Since it was a holiday, I thought it would be a shot in the dark at getting anyone to reply to a plumbing issue, but I tried texting Chris from the Rooter Company. To my pleasant surprise, he responded and we hopped on a call together. He walked me through what the possible cause could be (we both agreed it was very likely a blockage deeper down the line, possibly reaching the common line) and he made sure his tech team would come out to me first thing in the morning. Ryan and his trainee showed up on time the following day (with another helpful heads-up text) and just like the first team, were incredibly polite and friendly. I will add that this visit felt much more thorough/professional than the first; Ryan took the time to fully trouble shoot around the house and walked me through what he was doing and why. The blockage was again snaked successfully, and he said it was very likely an issue not with our unit, but the community common line itself. He recommended a camera, which would have been an additional charge, but was very up front about this and was not at all pushy. When I said we'd prefer that the HOA handle the camera (since it's likely a common line issue), Ryan was 100% supportive of it and did not push the matter with us further. I wasn't charged for the second visit, which I appreciated as it could have been a remnant of the first blockage not being fully cleared. I've now recommended the Rooter Company and specifically Ryan to my HOA! I was so blown away that I wrote an essay of a review. We had an emergency leak in our main water line at night this week, so I called The Rooter Company based on their excellent Yelp reviews and emergency services. They promptly answered the phone and immediately connected us to a technician, Ryan, to describe exactly what was going on. Ryan offered to come out immediately that night to help us since our water was turned off, but we decided to wait until the morning as it was so late in the evening. The very next morning, Ryan and Devin showed up on time as planned. Ryan accurately diagnosed the problem and gave us a couple options on how we could proceed. We decided to do a temporary fix and would do a more permanent line replacement a bit later. Ryan and Devin worked quickly to get us our water line working again. Then a few days later, Ryan, Chris, and Valentin came out to install our new water lines.
