We had a main drain backup recently in the afternoon. We couldn't use any of the bathrooms and we were freaking out. The Rooter company was the only one who came and got us up and running temporarily that night. They installed a new clean out and re-lined our drain with perma-liner the next day. A few months earlier, we got warning signs of our drain problem and I collected a few quotes. A piece of advice - don't ignore the signs, take care of it as soon as you can. Unfortunately my experience with The Rooter Company wasn't ideal. I want to note from the outset, however, that to Mark's credit he offered to make up for things by charging for only one unclogged shower yet perform service on two. His willingness to own the mistake and to make that gracious offer led me to give 3 stars. What happened? Here's the chronology of events: - 9/1 I requested a quote for unclogging a shower drain on Yelp - I rec'd an immediate std response saying that they'd like to serve me and I should call to make an appt - A little frustrating b/c I just wanted a quote, which is the way Yelp is set up - I sent another Yelp msg again asking for a quote, which I received - I replied that the quote was reasonable and that I'd like to schedule an appointment - Mark said he could take care of it on 9/5. But he didn't give any time window. - I had to call him at noon on 9/5 to get a time window of 1-3 for that day. He said Lucas was already in my area and would come over after his current job. - 4:00 rolled around and no Lucas, no call, no text, no Yelp msg. - So I sent Mark a text asking when Lucas would get here. - Mark replied that an emergency had come up and asked me if "tomorrow would be better" - I replied that obviously tomorrow wasn't better for me - Mark then called me to apologize and he offered to unclogged both of our showers for the price of one. - I told Mark that I appreciated his apology and his offer to charge for only one shower. But I told him that I'd decided to go with a different company (one that I felt confident in there showing up to do the job as planned). Based on all of Mark's glowing reviews I have no reason to doubt that he and his guys do great work. But as is often the case, communication with clients could be better. I wish Mark and his company continued success and his customers improved communications as a result of this feedback. read more

My mainline was clogged with roots, causing a very unpleasant backup in my house. The Rooter Company came out quickly and hydro-jetted the line, but Chris warned me that their video inspection revealed a few large breaks in the line and I ought to consider relining while it was still an option. I knew the line was in trouble from prior rooting service jobs so I knew they were on the up-and-up. The owner Mark was able to work with me on a price I could afford, which was very much appreciated since these are not the typical expenses families budget for in their finances. Lukas and his team came out and worked all day, and even successfully took care of another driveway drainage problem that no other plumber had been able to fix. I wondered if they scrubbed their profile of negative reviews somehow..but now I see they are just that good! When flushing, toilet doesn't completely empty bowl. Ryan S and Devin arrived at the property and quickly diagnosed the issue as the toilet itself and explained to me his thought process. Due to the space limitations of the area, a low profile toilet was needed to which Ryan arranged to get delivered and both Ryan/Devin installed same day. They were both extremely professional, and CLEAN, even wearing booties in the house to not track debris on to the wood flooring and cleaning the workarea. They used a camera to further inspect the drain to which there are other issues that still need to be addressed. Pending circumstances beyond Ryan's control, this is a "work-in-progress" for now. I did notice the toilet replacement labor price (less the toilet cost) appeared quite a bit more than the "toilet replacement" price ($250 per toilet installation) as indicated of the Yelp page, which was indicated only 30 days ago, although the job was well done . Had a plumbing emergency right before Christmas. Had to get a plumber to come and snake my line. He only cleared part of it and recommended some additional work. Because it was the holidays (Dec 23rd), he charged me holiday rates. I decided to get some additional quotes as the work the first plumber suggested seemed really high. The Rooter Company came out to address some dripping coming from above my shower. Not knowing anything about plumbing, I feared the worst and thought it could be a leak from a pipe behind the drywall. Several other contractors put in bids, and some indicated they would need to cut into the drywall to adequately diagnose. When Danny arrived, he was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He began by outlining what might need to be done and addressed the steps needed to prevent possible release of mold toxins if the drywall were to be cut into. He also gave options that might include home owners insurance coverage to allay any fears. But before any major repairs commenced he relied on his experience and understanding of piping architecture to aptly identify an unexpected cause for the dripping, which was a spraying fixture. He quickly took steps to replace the offending fixture which eliminated any further spraying. I was pleasantly surprised as the fair cost for the services. There are a lot of choices for plumbing services, but I feel good about getting quality work done, at an honest price, while supporting a small business.
