Me and my wife decided to come have lunch and were very satisfied with the food and service. I had the Steak Laredo with fries and green beans. Steak was pretty good and paired well with my beer. My wife had the Hot Texas Chicken and Cheese sandwich, which was pretty simple but in a good way. We also had a side of Shells and Cheese which was amazing. Would come back.

The atmosphere is fun! Live music was professional and entertaining. The hostess was thoughtful and moved us to our preferred location. The food was amazingly delicious. The brunch was epic. Worth repeating for sure. I was a tad disappointed that they didn't give our birthday girl anything. If they had, I'd have given them a 5 star

It was our first time here and we were delighted by the live performance, quick service and delicious food. Our server Logan was prompt and took great care of us. He answered all our questions and made sure to come back often to check up on us. Nice that he also helped us with our group photo. Loved the large onion rings, crab cakes, tamales and their meat dish options. I did wish the steak with cheese inside, didn't spill out on arrival.

The restaurant was nice and cozy on the inside. Staff were nice and we were seated promptly. We were offered the happy hour menu and ordered a few drinks off the menu to start off. Now nothing against our server because she was really nice. But the service was extremely slow for the restaurant being that empty on a Saturday. We ordered some appetizers which also took some time to make. The oysters were ok at best and the onion rings were actually really good! My wife ordered the salmon Caesar salad and I got the wild boar chili. I'm still not 100% sure why it took over 30 mins to get the food. On top of that, they over cooked my daughter's burger, forgot my chips that I had to ask for near the end of my meal. I probably won't be coming back to this restaurant but it was an experience to say the least.

Our section was right behind this open area. We had 6 picnic tables for our group.

I booked an event at The Rustic back in June of this year for this week. Originally was going to book the downtown location but they easily switched me to the Uptown location since it would be more convenient for our guests. We had 30 guests. Communication was excellent, Shea and Kristina helped me and then Ingrid took over once I moved the reservation. Tkoi was the ops manager who assisted once we were settled. Our party arrived right at 530pm, we booked a 3 hour event. We knew parking would be a challenge, so many people carpooled. Little did we know, there is a parking garage that is free and across the street. I might have missed that detail, if not, definitely recommend that instead of trying to find parking. I did valet for 8.00 which was not bad at all. We were seated inside right in front of the stage which was nice, the area was sectioned off, with about 6 picnic tables. We had 3 servers who took great care of us from start to finish. I selected Corn Hole as a game, which was an added cost but very reasonable. My guys loved this and it was also right in front of the open area. There was a performer that night but we could not hear that well. We mostly mingled and talked with our party anyway, the band was a nice touch behind the scenes. Food service was on time and plentiful, appetizers served at 545, meal at 615. It was plenty of food. The food: excellent! I selected wild boar meatballs, chicken tamales and cracklin deviled eggs. My favorite app was the chicken tamale. Very nice flavor with a little kick of spice. The meatballs were good too and so were the eggs. They were my least favorite. They kept the apps coming and we had food setup on each table along with drink service. My second favorite thing was the Texas fondue. It was nice and spicy too, the chips did not seem to be tortilla chips but they were good and crispy. The chicken and brisket tacos were very good. Chicken tinga was my favorite and everyone devoured them and the mushrooms were a surprise hit. Some of my party ordered off the menu as they stayed behind after our time was over. It was not crowded although it was a Thursday night. Our drink package included premium liquor, beer and wine and soft drinks. The house margarita was included, the package accommodated the group well. The giant beers were refreshing and they had a wide variety on tap. Only complaint: the restrooms did not have towels, they had dryers that shut off really quickly. Overall, I was very pleased with the communication throughout, the venue itself and the food and drinks. I would love to come back when I can actually listen to some music.

Went for lunch with my boyfriend, first time for me. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food tasted great and trust me... the servings were more than any one person should eat in one sitting. The beers were cold and the atmosphere was open and airy. Not a real complaint but it was noisier than I expected. Fine for a date or out to lunch with friends but I would not try and hold a business lunch there is items were to be discussed.

Have enjoyed Brunch Jam and dinner here. It's always fabulous - delicious food, tasty cocktails, and attentive service. I haven't tried happy hour yet but it's high on my list! The brunch - it's amazing! I bring my young adult kids and we always enjoy the full spread. It gives us time to talk, catch up, and eat great food. The variety is good and everyone finds things they really like.

Great live music with mellow 70s rock, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. I usually come with a big group, and this visit was no different. The cedar plank salmon was a solid recommendation, and the spoon bread was delicious. I had the non‑alcoholic margarita since I was driving, and it was refreshing. Always a good time here.

We had a blast at the Rustic uptown. Great food, great service and great ambiance. We had an awesome time catching up with friends and ringing in the New Year. I love this place and can't wait to go back. Please if you are in the area go by and show this business some love.

We had a large party come in for our Christmas gathering and the week staff and manager were very accommodating. All of the food came out in a timely manner, we enjoyed our gathering. The restaurant is extremely spacious, we enjoyed the live music and our brunch.

Rustic nails the Southern-country vibe with a great atmosphere and live music. Unfortunately, the food didn't measure up. My spicy grilled chicken sandwich tasted like an overpriced Whataburger knockoff ($21 with not including fries). Service was friendly but spotty, especially for our group of 13. Overall, go for the music and vibes, not the food or attentive service

A friend was visiting out of town for a conference and The Rustic turned out to be the perfect Happy Hour on a Sunday! While the food options on the menu are limited (the brisket nachos are uniquely served with baked potato chips rather than tortillas), there are plenty of cocktails to choose from. Nico, the bartender, kept the drinks flowing and explained that the "Rustic" espresso martini only came with one coffee bean (II've been told that 3 coffee beans is the standard for "good luck"). The Rustic Uptown location is super spacious, airy, and feels more modern and less farmhouse when compared to their downtown location (though, I do appreciate that aesthetic, too!).

Ask the Community - The Rustic

What time usually the live music starts?

It varies on the days but they do put out a full schedule for the month on their website

    Can we split checks?

Yes of course , I believe it's discretionary on large parties - they will add 18-20% gratuity

Do we need reservations for a group on a Friday night? Around 10 people.

I'm not sure. It's a huge place but I suggest you call ahead to see if reservations are needed for a large party such as yours.

TVs for sports? Do they play football on Sunday's?

    Yes. TVs at the bar

    Is it hot in there?

No it was a comfortable temperature

Is this a kid friendly place on Sunday night?

    Yes

    Is there free parking?

    Yes, at the Uptown location.

Are you wheelchair friendly? I see in pics picnic tables and those r not friendly!

    There are tables for wheelchairs.

Do I need reservations for a week day at 630pm?

I've never needed a reservation so you should be good with just walking in. Also, if you do call ahead they won't seat you until every person in your party has arrived.

    Is there public WiFi available?

    Yes

    Is the patio pet friendly?

Im not sure if they allow pets, I didn't see a single pet inside. You might wanna call them to make sure.

Does The Rustic take reservations for lunch?

Reservations are ONLY accepted Mon-Wed...no reservations allowed Thurs-Sun since this is their busiest time and The Rustic is meant to stay and enjoy the food and live music etc so it's not the normal eat and leave type establishment!

Are you able to make reservations?

    Yes you can.

If I bring my 18 year old son will rustic allow me to buy him a few beers with dinner?

Even though the state of texas allows you to purchase your son an alcoholic beverage for consumption in your presence, that is not allowed at this restaurant.

    Is it dog friendly?

I just called to see if they allow dogs on the patio and she said only service animals.

    Are kids allowed?

Yes I saw families eating there

There used to be all sorts of snacks complimentary in the lobby. On this last visit there was absolutely nothing. Nobody says hi or greets you at front desk nor going in and out of the main doors. We were only provided 3 towels as a family of 4. You would think housekeeping would at least take note of the 4 toothbrushes! They did not even really turn over the room except making the bed - no wiping down of sink etc and one day left us NO TOILET PAPER! I am getting really tired of these hotels charging more and providing less. Newsflash: if you keep people's rooms nice and tidy and provide them with toilet paper to do their business, that is the bare minimum! It is a shame because as Austin residents we go to Houston pretty often and would love to have a home base in Houston but sadly, we have given this hotel multiple opportunities to make it right and it has just gotten progressively worse.

They have an area next door where they make the bakery items. If you like ginormous cinnamon rolls and fun shaped iced short bread cookies definitely worth a look.

The interior is pretty unassuming and on the smaller side, offering a mix of half-booths, bar top seating, standard tables, plus a small outdoor area by the entrance. Right when you walk in, there are coolers stocked with cakes and bottled drinks, and the counter features a nice spread of bakery items like cupcakes, cookies, and muffins. It is a walk-up counter order setup--they bring the food out to your table, but you retrieve your own drinks and silverware. I'm personally not a big fan of walk-up ordering (meh #1), and the dining room felt like it could use a little TLC (meh #2), but overall the food made up for it. Fried Green Tomato BLT: Served on a pretzel bun with bacon, aioli sauce, and leaf lettuce (which I substituted for shredded lettuce). It comes stacked with two layers of fried green tomatoes--I ended up taking one layer off, but the flavors were solid, especially the bacon and aioli. Sides: The fries and coleslaw were both very good. Fish & Chips: My dining partner had the fish and chips with wedge fries and coleslaw, and he enjoyed his meal very much. 8/15/2026: Overall, it's a solid place for lunch, especially for a quick bite before or after heading over to Regal Marq'E. I'd recommend giving it a try if counter service isn't a dealbreaker for you! $47.28 (before tip) for 2 to dine.
