Great local place! Really good burgers and fries. My husband loves the Reaper Burger. The green chili mac n cheese is amazing too.

They have the BEST veggie burger anywhere! It is so very tasty and with the delicious fries, it's a hit. Love the food, but sometimes customers are a bit careless with the mask wearing. (Not the servers though.) read more

I got the food for takeout and it was DELICIOUS. I had never gotten it before and went out on a whim to try something new and I will definitely be buying again. Very inexpensive and flavorful. I got the Hawaiian burger and we shared the nachos and everything was to die for. read more

The food smelled great. Not a place for kids. The only table is way in the back or outside. You have to walk all the way pass the bar to get to the tables. I did not feel it was a place I could stay with my grandkids. May give it a try when only adults read more

Perfect bar ambiance. Started with the Mandarin Punch, was awesome! Had the Bacon Blue cheese burger. Blue cheese was yummy, burger was slightly overdone. But I would definitely have again! Fries were crispy not greasy. Sally our server was the highlight of the evening. Highly recommend!!! read more

We were hoping for more updated atmosphere/new look, but it's pretty much the same. I also think it will be hard to be "family friendly" when 95% of the tables are small, round high tops. That being said, the food was really good. We had the green chili fries, the Rusty burger, and a BLT. I really liked the fries- crispy, but not over cooked. Tons of bacon on the BLT. I wish the coleslaw had a little more dressing on it, but I appreciate that it wasn't the standard creamy glop. Service was friendly and upbeat. The trouble with the space, and that the restaurant has had in it's many incarnations, is that it is really basically a bar. The atmosphere, the seating, and the huge bar convey that. You can't get around it. A restaurant would do better with more 4 tops, booths, etc. I'm not opposed to it being a bar with good food, but it is what it is. We will be back, but see this more as a bar atmosphere- go for the drinks, and enjoy some food while you're there. Or, really commit and be a sports bar. Erie needs one. read more

Super awesome - new ownership - GREAT FOOD - I had the green chili and wings - could have ate it all again and again - the green Chile may be the best I have ever had - the wings were cooked perfect - the BONUS was the beer they have on tap called the Lifted Kilt - Very nice place we will be back VERY SOON. read more

Always have a good experience. Good food and really good service. It's sad that people can't make their own decisions these days. I appreciate they don't wear masks. It's difficult to hear anyone trying to talk to you with a mask on. Judge them for their food and service. Not your political view on masks and your opinion. If you don't like the fact they aren't wearing masks go somewhere else and leave them alone. read more

I was there and not one person wore a mask. The food was okay but the service and people ruined the experience.

This has quickly become a favorite as the people who work here are SO great! Top it off with great food and atmosphere. Try the pulled pork Mac n Cheese, or add the delicious pulled pork to the nachos, you won't regret it. Oh, and don't forget one of the best margaritas around! read more

We just went with friends for happy hour and early dinner, which is a good time for seniors to go out (not so loud). We were pleased with drinks, prices and food. It's a step up from avg. bar food and prices were reasonable. The biggest plus was our server (sorry I did not get her name), but she was THE BEST ever! We all had modifications to our orders and she got everything right the first time. She was patient, polite, efficient and should be teaching lessons. The only thing that would be better for us is: MORE VEGETARIAN OPTIONS!! They have an Impossible Burger, but not a single veg. salad or pasta dish. Like I said, our server was willing to modify which made it all OK but I'd like to see more on the menu. Younger patrons were enjoying the patio and there is an attached room where families could dine. This place checks a lot of boxes and we are glad they are back to normal post CoVid19. read more

Walked in no one said anything. Stood there not knowing if we set ourselves or just take one. Bartender and waitress both looked at us and didn't smile or say piss off. So we just stood there for 6 mins and then left. I guess they really didn't want our business. read more

Mayo was yellow and greasy looking like it has been sitting out and bad. The meat on the Reuben was really cheap and looked like packaged cold cuts not deli slices. The coleslaw was bland and also looked subpar. My son's cheese on his burger was burnt. On top of this our food took a while to come out and it was a weeknight with only a couple other tables of people. They also never bothered to refill our waters even though we finished them all before the meal was over. Too bad because we were excited to have a new place in Erie close to home, but we won't be coming back. So many better choices elsewhere for the price point. read more

I love the vegan burger they have here called The Impossible Burger. And I not vegan. It's just light and tasty and a burger I can feel good about. The bun is light and fresh with fresh toppings. This vegan burger is the same one served at high end restaurants in NY and LA folks. Look it up! Service was great! Sally was so helpful and gracious. Delicious and I love the jukebox! New owners but the same dingy bar and mediocre food and beer. My under-seasoned and over-cooked $10 burger with old fries and $6 for my kids hot dog with even less old fries was a waste of my money and time. I like to support local places but wont be coming back. read more

Hubby and I finally went to the Rusty Melon and we were not impressed. If you're looking for a basic bar with limited beer options, mediocre food, and a dark & drab atmosphere, then this is your place. We were there around 5:30-6ish on a Saturday night and the place was about 1/3 full. First we sat in the bar area (is there even a "dining room"?) and were waited on by the bartender who sounds like Marge Simpson's sisters (loud raspy smoker's voice). As we waited for our order we decided we didn't care for the depressing "Bar Fly" atmosphere and moved out to the patio area (which is MUCH nicer). Our order took longer than you'd expect considering it wasn't very busy and all we got were chicken fingers and a salad. Food was so-so. I had the "Oriental" Chicken Salad for $13 that was just okay. I've had better at Chili's or Applebee's. Hubby's chicken fingers were "okay". (Probably not the best thing to order if you're going to judge a restaurant on its food)...but he was afraid to try anything else. We probably won't be back. MUCH prefer Miner's Tavern. read more

I advise anyone wanting good service to go elsewhere. There was five in our party and nowhere to sit. I tried to get the waitresses attention and I was ignored. Bar seating... not good for kids, but they advertise a kids menu. I was not impressed. I recommend Miners or Echo Brewing will in Erie, both of which has excellent customer service and good seating. read more
