We weren't sure what to expect driving up but our expectations were met... or even exceeded. My husband got the best breakfast sandwich ever and literally took a bite and said "omg it's true, it's the best one I have ever had." I ended up getting the creme brulee french toast and although it was a little soggy in spots the flavor was lovely. I would just want mine a bit crispier. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. A farm-to-table concept restaurant. The food is locally sourced and the menu actively changes. Cathy's service was phenomenal and fun to chat with, sharing local knowledge and information on what we wanted to eat. We started with the bruschetta and were WOWED by the whipped goat cheese but despondent to learn the suppliers had retired! That would be Slow Turtle Farm; a genuine tragedy. We hope The Salted Goat may eventually locate a suitable replacement, because this was possibly one of the best bruschettas either of us has ever enjoyed. My wife chose the savory Huevos Papas Rellenas. The details: sofrito stuffed mashed potatoes are panko breaded then fried. Topped with two sunny side up eggs. Lightly blanketed with jalapeño cheddar hollandaise sauce. Side of black beans. Wife loved her meal. I chose the diabetes route and wasn't disappointed. The two slices of Challah toast were indeed sporting a crispy sugary glaze quite reminiscent of a crème brûlée, a dessert I entirely adore. I added two eggs to offset all the sugar and chose the fruit salad vs home fries (I mean, heck, I already had enough carbs, right? Meh maybe not; to each their own!) The Challah was soaked in vanilla crème brûlée batter and brûléed sugar (heck yeah!) but no clue what type of syrup was provided. Was it regular maple or did it have a flavor, too? I don't know!!! My friend and I went here for fish & chips which she saw they had a picture online. The waitress wasn't nice at all when we asked for that stating " there is a sign outside that says we do not have fish & chips". We did not see that. I do not eat meat and menu was not for a pescatarian. My friend saw nothing she wanted. We therefore told waitress we were leaving. As we walked out saw on a chalkboard "we do not serve fish & chips" and nothing else written. Now why would they do that if it is shown online? Visited on a Saturday afternoon and loved that both the brunch and lunch menu was available. Plenty of outdoor seating and a cozy interior with a bar. Service was attentive and personal. Food was the star of the show: we shared the artichoke dip, I had the blackened salmon BLT, and my husband had the Brisket Smash Burger. All items were fantastic and flavorful. Date Night was a little drive but worth it. We tried the Salted Goat in DeBary. I had the smashed burger without a bun, charred broccoli and black beans. What a fun name and the Farm to Table approach always works for me. We enjoyed dinner which included an appetizer, 4 glasses of wine total, 2 entrees and a dessert for just over $100. Red Argentinian shrimps were large and steamed perfectly. I enjoyed poached Mahi over Mushroom Risotto with Broccolini and my husband enjoyed blackened Salmon with 2 sides. A coworker told me about this place. Location was previously held by Genuine Bistro. Was seated on time for my reservation despite my folks being late (first time for them). Ordered the blueberry bourbon smash which I saw on the board at the bar when I entered. Apparently someone wrote that on with a permanent marker so they didn't actually have the cocktail. Therefore, I had the gin cocktail instead. When my folks arrived, I ordered the red Argentinian shrimp cocktail and the beef carpaccio. The shrimp came out warm w drawn butter and we had to inquire about the missing side of cocktail sauce. Great value in this dish- 12 shrimp! The carpaccio was pretty standard. Small portion. Not a lot of flavor. For dinner, I had the goat ragout. It was delicious. A lot of goat and TWO fried polenta cakes. I could not finish it. My dad had the chef special mahi with andouille crust over dirty rice. He said the dish lacked seasoning. I pointed to the salt shaker that he never noticed. Haha. Mom had the 4oz filet. It was the smallest steak I've ever seen but my mom never finishes her dish so a 4 ounce was perfect for her. The zucchini and herb Parmesan fries were delicious. For dessert we had the goat cheese cheesecake. It was ok. Mild flavor. Light and fluffy. I would not recommend. The lemon creme brûlée was delicious. Light. Crispy sugar crust. Get that if they have it. Service was good but food came out super slow. Prices are very reasonable. My cocktail was only $9.50! They have ample patio seating and a good amount of parking. Long-time resident of DeBary and has not tried the Salted Goat since Genuine occupied the space. Saturday night at 6 pm, we decided to give it a try. I was sad to see that at 6 pm there were no cars in the parking lot. As we walked up, the nightly entertainment was setting up on the patio, and we were welcomed by a very large white metal goat! LOVED IT! Due to the heat, we decided to sit inside. There was one other family inside who seemed to be enjoying their meal. The inside was cute. Loved the graffiti on the walls and loved that they were able to incorporate the large G on the wall from the previous owner. Our waitress was super sweet, but told us she was a vegetarian and could only help with food choice based on what others have told her, which ok that's fine. We ordered the fish and chips and a buger with fries. The fries were really good. The rest well ...... It will take some time, but maybe I will give it another shot later down the line. Where to begin...... Maybe with the woman on the patio feeding her dogs at the table? Maybe it was the fifteen minutes it took them to take a drink order, but I had a nervous feeling from the beginning that this wasn't gonna go well. I'm gonna say this once then leave it alone. The waitress was angry. Not sure why, not sure what was up, but it was like having your ex wife wait on you. We started with the bruschetta and fish cakes. The bruschetta wasn't bad but it didn't really impress. The fish cakes. Scallops and flounder. Awful. They were awful. My wife got the duck breast, her mother got the salmon and I got the redfish. The duck breast and the root vegetable thing that came with it were delicious, hence the second star. If you do decide to go, this is the only thing you should order. The salmon looked like it had been boiled. No color whatsoever. It tasted just like it looked. Bland. The redfish was good. The broccoli I got with it was good. The grits that were supposed to bring all together were terrible, bordering on gross. But what killed it completely was that nobody really cared. You could just see it in the staff. They were there to get through the day, like they were waiting on Gordon Ramsey to come shake someone up. It was pretty bad. Good luck if you go. read more

Extremely disappointing to have the server tell us they had no coffee, so we ordered food and darted to Dunkin to get some java. We didn't get creamer, so I asked for that from our server to be told "we don't have creamer". What type of "brunch" doesn't have coffee and creamer? We ordered the holy molé duck tostadas to start; and we were not disappointed! I wanted to try the Charred octopus, and it was absolutely exquisite. Exactly what I was looking for in a unique breakfast place. It's definitely not a chain. However, make sure you understand being understaffed and that patience is rewarded with good food. I will say a neighbor said it had mixed reviews and I got that after the third day in a row I ordered over easy eggs and the cook sent my eggs back three minutes later where they simply flipped over the original eggs breaking them all over my hash. lol, usually after that I wouldn't have gone back, but the first two days were awesome.
