BEST. CAESAR. SALAD. EVER!!! Seriously, though, I've had their sandwiches here and while I haven't been a big fan of them, I have enjoyed their salads more. My favorite has been a classic Caesar salad made with grilled chicken Their Caesar salad, in my opinion, is better than the one at Lure's or even Social Tap. Service is great and swift, in my opinion. I've been here more than 10 times (I work nearby). I've taken my 15 minute breaks to order and it won't even be 10 minutes before my order is ready (every order is different and takes their own time to make). If you eat inside, it doesn't look as welcoming and comfortable, but my understanding is that the place looks like that maybe because the food is cheaper than most places. If the food is sold at a really affordable price, then some of the money from those sales can't go to operational costs because there's not enough, then I can understand and respect that. I'd rather eat food sold at a not-so good looking place than spend over the average cost of food just to eat at a place that has a renovated dining area. Any time I see a Reuben sandwich on a menu, I'm in. That's exactly what I ordered, and it was... not bad. First off, the pastrami was super tender, had a good smoky edge to it, and was sliced thin enough to soak up the flavor from everything else going on. The Swiss cheese was melted all the way through, dripping over the sides, and the thousand island dressing brought it all together. The sauerkraut had just enough tang without being overpowering, and the bread was grilled nice and golden, held up well without getting soggy. For $13, they definitely could've been more generous with the meat and fillings. If they had just doubled everything, it could've been killer. But it still worked. The place itself isn't winning any awards for cleanliness or style, but for a quick one-time stop, I wasn't mad about it. If you're into Reubens, this one's worth a try. Its such a shame because they are in a prime location. I was starving for breakfast and there is usually no choice to go but McDonalds around here. Went in and ordered an egg sandwich with a coffee for almost 15 bucks and it was absolutely disgusting, threw that away and tried the coffee, which was burnt tasting, so I dumped it. My fiancé got the eggs, English muffin, bacon, and O'Brien potatoes. He said it was good. The main reason we gave it a three instead of a higher score is because of the lack of cleanliness. Like many that frequent this restaurant, I am a working professional with an office close by. Today I placed an order for pick up, and sent my (Hispanic) shop manager to pick up my order. I was horrified to learn that upon his arrival the staff initially refused to serve him my sandwich because of mistaken identity. Apparently, a DIFFERENT Hispanic man had been into this establishment and not provided payment for his order. The staff went so far as to pull up surveillance video, showing other members of staff while pointing at my employee and arguing over whether or not he was the same person. This was a week day after the lunch hour rush. Was getting my car worked on in Ventura and afterward I stopped in to order a Ruben with extra sauerkraut to go. I requested no Thousand Island dressing, add mustard instead. For the side I picked the homemade potato salad to eat while waiting for the sandwich and it was good. Lady at the front was nice but had to translate back to the guy at the grill. Another fellow comes in 10 minutes after me and orders a hot sandwich. A woman orders after him so we are all waiting and his comes out first then her order is handed over. I walk back over to the register and ask what's the deal? She starts asking the cooks and they produce a Ruben. She boxes it up and I move to the side for a look-see. It is a Ruben but no extra sauerkraut and with Thousand Island on the sandwich plus a side of mustard. I send it back and she has to explain to the cook what the order was and shows him the ticket she wrote. Another 5-7 minutes and she calls me up. I look at the sandwich she is boxing up and it has white bread instead of Rye. I look at the menu and point out that it lists a Reuben on toasted Rye bread. I've been there almost 20 minutes waiting a on To-Go sandwich. She turns around and starts yelling at the cooks in another language, so I walk out, get in my car and leave. I usually come here when I'm in a rush and don't want to break my bank account. They usually don't disappoint though. Plus they're not stingy with the amount they give too. I'm actually sitting here at the Sandwich Factory writing this review and kind of staring at what's on the plate trying to decide whether or not I should take a bite of this Reuben sandwich... I've driven by here at least 100 times, and at the moment I'm walking around waiting on My car to be finished at another establishment local to here... I've heard of the place more than once, and I certainly can't remember anything negative being said about it, and the fact is I'm STARVING... And now I've just gotten up to walk up to the counter and see if perhaps my ex-wife was back there in the kitchen... That could explain whatsitting here on the plate, but no, I don't see her... We had never been here before. We had a scramble, an De Monterrey omelette, a lemonade and coffee for $25.00. The Monterrey omelette clearly states salsa is an ingredient, yet I was charged .75 more when I asked for the salsa. Service is service...no kindness shown. I see that more and more in Ventura with how servers treat customers. Food is served with plastic utensils, plastic containers with salsa, creamers, jams, straws, styrofoam to-go containers...not good for our environment. You order at the counter. It's easier to read the printed menu as opposed to the handwritten menu items scattered around the register and walls. Restrooms are clean. Food was not bad, but not remarkable either. Denny's is likely better in my honest opinion. Not many people there on a Tuesday for breakfast. It is a sandwich place, so maybe sandwich making is their forte. Hill Street Cafe and Arts Corner are about the same in price and both their menu items, food quality, and service are very remarkable. read more

After checking out the menu, I decided on a chicken salad sandwich and also gave the Italian sub a try. The chicken salad sandwich was my least favorite of the two. The chicken was a little hard like it was part of a rotisserie that had been sitting there for a while, and the flavor was bland; 2/5 for that. The Italian sandwich was the better of the two, but still left a lot to desire; 3/5. The potato salad that came with them was fresh and tasty, but could've used a little more seasoning. Could there have been a more horrendous eating experience at the Sandwich Factory? No! Yes my husband's pastrami was ok but my $12 3 rib meal wasn't fit for my dog! The top layer of each rib was hard, burnt & inedible. It now seems they were possibly aware it was overcooked but sold them anyway. I told them I wasn't going to review them but decided that wasn't fair to future diners. So, diners beware. PS, The accompanying beans with my meal were gross, almost old looking & blah. Tried it last week and been back four days straight trying something new each time!! For the price it's amazing. Had the burgers, breakfast burritos, sandwichs, and chili cheese fries. The chili cheese fries are like a whole meal so be careful. Burgers were my favorite out of what I tried and the menu is really big. Can't wait to go back. There were literally two slices of deli turkey, tomatoes were sliced too thick, the appearance of the Swiss cheese looked as if it had been sitting in moisture and the avocado that I paid extra for was missing. That's fine, but how could I tell which ones could be and which ones couldn't be? There wasn't anything on the menu board to tell which is which. When I challenged her and said, "Well which sandwiches CAN be halved?" she came back with "approving" me to get only a few certain ones. That was her exact word, "approving". Very odd.
